@@EDMTips How's about this one Will.....a vid where your replicate some great melodies (eg. Eric Prydz - Generate) and you explain why the melodies are so damn great / catchy!
the finished result song sounds amazing, i can't decipher which genre it is, lol , these videos on creating midi chords/etc. (anything midi programming ) iS exceptionally helpfull ,
Fantastic Will! Recently stumbled onto your channel and as 'n beginner I love how straight and to the point your content is. Great stuff, keep it up! 🇿🇦
Hey Will, enjoying your channel and when finish my exams I wil probably start 1 of your courses. Also got a request for sound like..... Innellea. Would be awesome 😎
@@EDMTips Innellea, Kevin de Vries - Mondfinsternis (Original Mix) ROCKS bigtime... btw, what course of you do you recommend to get up to speed with Ableton? Already played around with it, but for some reason I get stuck... even with some of the basics. On the other hand, I think I know enough for me to have to start from scratch.... Thanks in advance... The Verge is also a nice one.. up to you... :)... David
The drums are so good in this track. Any chance of a tutorial on how to do them? Thanks for explaining chords. Really easy to understand and sus chords are now a new toy to play with for me. Thanks.
Love your tutorials! Is there any chance you could do a tutorial on R&B chords and beats? Perhaps even some sound choices and design? Thank you so much!
@@EDMTips I create the song vocally first. I record my voice then I do different things with it by adding other vocal tracks. I’m trying to create a dub mix that feels right for the vocals so I try to vocalize what what the chords might sound like. I appreciate your suggestions and thanks for the video 💎😊
Nice tips. I would have added some strum or move some notes a bit to the left to create that real human feeling. Also use the randomise velocity of the notes so there not all that hard. But overall great tips the dominant 5th was a new one for me I always struggled which note you can use in all the progressions. I used the root note but the dominant 5th sounds better
I agree with the moving of notes plus velocity changes I would of also taken the middle note of each triad and moved it up one octave to get to the 7ths. But hey ho we can't have it all. Haha salute bruh
It was sooo beneficial!!! I was struggling with chords a lot, thank you so much! I just have a question, it's more for trance, right? I'm trying to learn a dnb background it should work also?
If you continued the chords through to the banging part do you think it would get too muddy? I think I am learning about over-layering to much...Thanks for the video
@@EDMTips yeah I checked it with headphones and I still think they sound too similar. Especially the first two that (at that point in the video) are exactly the same but with one more note
Hope you like this, fam! Any other particular areas of production you struggle with that I can cover? Let me know 👇

Krewella wants her beats back, Will
hold it together will lol
Burger chords taste better 👌 well explained. I like the half jump of SUS 2 / 4 notes
I watched all you Videos. The all great but what im missing is Chord borrowing or Modulation. I myself struggle with this topic. Pls teach me sempai 😄
Will's emotion - shmm haa !
HOT FIRE brother
BOOM! 🙌🙌
Why do you think A minor is most common in EDM? because it sounds best? Or because there are lots of hipster producers with no music theory knowledge?
The latter!
No biggie. Are we not allowed to make music in just one mode? We could throw a random lfo set to pitch if that makes you happy.
Maybe it's the frequency response of the cellphone I'm viewing this on but the dominant fifth makes these chords all sound too similar IMO
Depends on your phone and how good your speakers are.
