People say that graphics don't matter, and I somewhat agree with them. The only exception is when the graphics are so bad, I don't want to look at them anymore. I CAN'T look at them anymore.
And the South Park games were a 3D game which had 2D graphics. The reason why I’m calling the South Park games a “3D game” is because you can move in a 3D space, Like in the beavis and butthead game on the sega genesis. But what I’m trying to say is the graphics were amazing in those games.
This is why it's important to note the difference between graphics and aesthetics. A game can be technically impressive but still look like garbage if the art direction is uninspired.

The coasters are fun to make, you can decorate your park and it literally has an effect on everyone there, and the management actually does get deeper than what this video shows when you get to the later levels. This definitely isn't a game for everyone but for me it just hit all the right spots and started my love for sim and builder games.

This was my first tycoon game. Although you’re right about the design, I remember having fun for hrs at a time trying to beat it. This game began my ambition to become a success in life.
I spent an ungodly number of hours playing a ps2 version of this: Themepark Rollercoaster. It was a little while back but I remember it being MUCH more polished and streamlined, and it makes so much more sense on a console than pc. It holds your hand a little bit but it works out great to transition in people who have no idea what they're doing. The graphics were more organized, rides didn't clip through each other, models were vastly improved, the multi-theme element of the game was expanded upon, goals improved, and overall it just seems a lot better than the mess of a piece of software shown in this video. Ian, if you're reading this you should totally check that one out and compare the two. Seeing your take on it would be so fantastic. (I'd send it to you but my copy has been damaged beyond repair over the years).
Freakin love this game. The graphics are no match for other roller coaster sims I get it, but to me it's a bit like the difference between Star Wars episode 4 and 3. One is much prettier than the other side by side, but if you let yourself get into the game world you start to really enjoy the A/V choices made by SimCoaster. Besides, SimCoaster mastered the challenge aspect compared with the original RCT. I used to get so excited unlocking new objectives and rides through SimCoaster. I also thought the financial aspect was pretty solid. It's definitely skewed from realism to make it simpler to play as a game, and really the whole simulation is, but I had so much fun with this.
I brought my original copy of roller coaster tycoon with me to college (in another country btw) it was from that golden age of tycoon games. This, and the original Zoo Tycoon games were just so good, so accessible and fun for being corporate business trainers for toddlers. Love those games.
it's so weird when I click on one of your videos thinking I've never played the game before and then get this weird sense of familiarity until I realize I played it a whole lot actually
I used to play Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 on the family's old Dell Windows XP desktop, but I was absolutely terrified of one scenario: crashes, and death. I couldn't stand them, as it was so sudden and explicit - explosions and bad park rating - for my younger self. So I'm actually happy to hear that this Simcoaster game doesn't have 'crashes' and 'death'. Well done, developers! Warding off childhood nightmares!
I think there is some common glitch with making a textured square shape, where the texture doesn't properly go between the two triangles it is placed on. Results in it bending along the diagonal line that divides the square. Saw a tutorial on how to fix it somewhere once, didn't read it though.
Ian was running the game with software rendering, which commonly suffers from texture warping. There wouldn't have been any of that if he used hardware rendering instead.
If it's one thing we share, Ian, it's love for RollerCoaster Tycoon. It's one of those games that never gets old or ugly and, in turn, will never leave my top five list... unless a remake or fan update is released and replaces it, but even then I doubt it'll dethrone the original thanks to nostalgia.
This game is really ugly. And the main selling point is pretty much ruined with Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 coming out afterwards. Plus, you can get all 3 RCT games with all of there expansions on Steam for 25 dollars.
I know it's just the path for the disc drive, but I found it highly amusing when the screen said "SimCoaster (D:)". It's as if even the computer was dreading it.

(I'd send it to you but my copy has been damaged beyond repair over the years).
i liked this game and thought it was brilliant. then again, i was 8 years old at the time.
6:31 The walls are melting, I'm talking to this weird blue bug.. music is playing.. Maybe I shouldn't have done acid before going on this coaster.
Is it me or did RUclips remove the skip ad feature...
This game horrified me as a kid. Didn't help that it used to lag and crash a lot either.
Operation PlugHole
Oh baby yes
The irony behind this is that both RCT 3 and Planet Coaster use the same concept...
but doesn't make it terrible.
I brought my original copy of roller coaster tycoon with me to college (in another country btw) it was from that golden age of tycoon games. This, and the original Zoo Tycoon games were just so good, so accessible and fun for being corporate business trainers for toddlers. Love those games.
*YES! THE BONE ZONE!*
I loved this game. Wish I could still play it.
Мужик, охуенные видео у тебя. Уютные, ламповые. Лойс!
Да ето так
Ah oui ce groupe est tellement bon! Mais mes préférés sont "les tellières acoustiques"
Speak American. smh.

MrOplef omfg learn russian!!!
oh god im getting so much nostalgia from this!
Yeah, no, the visuals are horrible. The game itself, like you said, was fine and all...but oh GOD the visuals.
it's so weird when I click on one of your videos thinking I've never played the game before and then get this weird sense of familiarity until I realize I played it a whole lot actually
Bullshit, that steampunk theme is awesome.
Would have been better if it was on a yellow grass background through.
Lovin' would be easy if your colors were like this game... red gold and green, red gold and green. Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma, chameleon...
3:33 SOVIET UNION ANTHEM PLAYS
the game looks fine to me tbh I like the gold too plz don't crucify me comments it just looks fun
Too late, I’ve prepared the cross and the crown of thorns
3:00 I’m fucking dead dude 😭😂😭😂😭😂😭
This game is taking some weird shortcuts with the 3d graphics. Why the fuck does the coaster look wavy while you're riding it?
