I own Logic Pro, and I do think it’s a very powerful and capable DAW, but my workflow on Studio One is much better than LPX. I have been thinking about diving back into Logic for the spatial audio aspect though. Just gotta do some learning so I’m more comfortable with it.

I only use 3 3rd party plug ins
    Fab filters- q3 c2 mb L2 R
    Ozone - Imager Relay
    Xfer- ott
I use Splice samples mainly in Drum Designer
And sound engineer almost everything in serum
Alchemy in awesome and all the retro synths etc
    Apple loops is great
The vintage tube eq is actually 2 pultec eq’s
The automation system has some really cool features and it’s where most of your mix time is spent so thats a bonus
The sound modulation has some good stuff but it would be nice to see more powerful modulation tools and a more user friendly interface for alchemy would be cool
I use serum 90% of the time simply because my ability to manipulate sound in alchemy is so much more of a learning curve because the interface is not as intuitive

I've used Logic from v8 and i ditched it forever for Cubase, Logic sound translation is not quite good at all, it wont color the exported sound but when your'e into mixing, you'll get colour in the sound.

I was Cubase user ! I switch to Logic Pro X 4 years ago . The Logic stock plugins sounds much warmer to me then in Cubase and I work faster in Logic . The synth . liberty is phenomenal , Drum designer is phenomenal ! Cubase is very good but Logic for my is excellent ! The best DAW !!!
    That is my opinion .

I’m gonna buy a MacBook Pro and I plan to use it to edit my videos for my channel. Which is better to edit RUclips videos? Logic Pro or Final Cut pro?

    • @ProducerRyan
      @ProducerRyan  Год назад +1

Logic is primarily for audio editing. I would recommend using Final Cut. I actually edit all of my videos on iMovie, depends on personal preference. Let me know if you have any questions.

For editing videos I'd recommend DaVinci Resolve, pretty intuitive and free.
And it's the industry standard for color grading + cou can also do some audio editing in there and have full VST plugin support.

I know it’s an old comment, but Logic is a DAW = Digital audio workstation ! 💀
So it‘s for Music Production or podcast production etc. but for sure not to edit videos haha 😅

Whats the difference between Logic Pro and Logic Pro X…?

    • @ProducerRyan
      @ProducerRyan  Год назад +2

Hi Blake. No real difference. The software is called Logic Pro and the X stands for version 10.

    • @drvoodoo3073
      @drvoodoo3073 Год назад +3

It only has one name now: Logic Pro. It used to be referred to as Logic Pro X when version 10 came out in 2013. Apple stopped calling it “Logic Pro X” since 2020. People who still use the term Logic Pro X are stuck in the past

Studio one is extremely buggy if you got a Mac me (m2 Mac Studio) it constantly crashes my system when no other daw does it has frequent problems with certain plug ins when no other daw does these things. (I’m saying this cause there so many try studio one comments)
I have Cubase, Logic and Luna and all are stable with only Luna having trouble with a few plug in alliance plug ins but completely stable
Studio one is constantly having issues with VARIOUS plug ins that not only crash the application but your whole Mac at times

    • @ApfelSgt

That’s an issue because the chips have a different architecture which the developer have to optimise for. It’s getting better over time, but some programs still don’t run fine on the „M“ chips… 🫤
But may inask you for what do you need so many different DAW‘s ?! 🤣
Normally it should be best to stick with one or two? 🤔
I think it’s much better to get really good on one daw than mid on many, or am i wrong? 😳

@@ApfelSgt You are wrong and right!
The idea that people have to do what one person does or follow a crowd is comedy.
There has never been one single rule in music. Rules in music are broken literally everyday
That how sound, mix styles, and new genres of music are developed …by breaking said rules!
I use multiple daws sometimes clients want me to use the daw they like to use with the plug ins they like to use
Some daws have some very good stock plug ins wether VI or Effect plugin so I might jump in one to produce fully or grab the sounds from that daw. Some daws workflows influence the way you mix I’m not talking about the idea that they sound different the work flow is what creates the biggest result difference. As different daw inspire those rule breaking ideas.
I produce and mix music mainly in Luna it’s just my stylistic choice that fits me, but for the most of my career I produced and mixed in logic
I like to mix in Studio one when it’s stable it pushes me to do things differently if I can’t get a song right in Luna I find that switching daws inspires a new way to mix ..I am proficient and efficient in Live,Cubase,Logic,Luna, studio one and Reason
I’ve been mixing and producing for over 20 years …

@@malakiy8688 That was a question why you do that… not a statement! 🙈
And if YOU are the producer, then why should a client tell you what DAW you should use ? 🤔 I have never heard that a singer for example tells the producer what DAW they should use?! 💀😅
If you are the producer, then it’s normally completely your choice? I really don’t understand that point? 🤷🏽‍♂️
But explain it to me, i don’t produce for 20 years like you, so i could still learn a lot! 🙈
I mean, if you do that for 20 years and you are fine with each daw and can use all of them good, then it’s perfectly fine! 👍🏼
But i still think there is a reason, why almost all top producers use 2 or 3 Daws at Max and why they all tell you to find the DAW that fits your workflow the best, master that DAW and stick with it! 🙈
I mean, there are allways exceptions for everything, but i would say that that’s the case for 99% of all professional producers…
That doesn’t mean that they haven’t tried and learned different daw‘s, but they simply don’t use them except for their personal preferences…
But like i said, if you could produce with all of them good and you do it, then do it! Like you said yourself, there are no rules! 👌🏼

@@ApfelSgt Some folks would love have the entire mix in the DAW they use for their own comfort
if you cant comprehend why that is good for musicians! then that tells me many things about your work experience!
a simple google of people requesting engineers give them the entire daw file of the mix and you will see how INCREDIBLY common this request is!
SO COMMON im almost sure you get most of your info from youtube! how your replying is based on youtube videos you watch where people are teaching something! or set rules and claim standards
so you reply LOOK at my COMMUNIST STATEMENT the world does like how I do .....
      sure buddy
you obviously need to be asking questions cause I sense a huge lack of experience!
there are no rules there are no standards EVERYONE style is different I like the way I work maybe you like the way you work the ONLY thing that matters is your client happiness with your mix and your service.
my service has brought ema round the actual world ..currently living in japan! im fine with what I do!
sounds like your putting a cap on your own flexibility paying attention or creating false standards and rules!
I like the god particle I feel it replaces many plug ins on certain sessions on my mix bus one of my engineer buddies think he can create the god particles effect on a mix bus using 3 or 4 plug ins
and rather use those 3-4 plugs instead of just the god particle
one of my friends likes the drums in shape and pre mix them using the tape and console emulations in Luna and he will totally produce in logic and create all the drums and get the sound he wants LUNA
should I judge how he pays his bills lmaoo
      it works for them!
here you are questioning how something works for different humans! playing music is not ran by communism lmao
especially in the borderless creative space that is music
your free to work as you please!
my opinion....you don't have much actual real world experience! and this is not to knock you you should definitely stop watching youtube and narrowing your client base and setting up unnecessary rules like "engineers should only use 1 daw and get use to it when almost all daws have the same principle and its now that damn hard to use different daws!!!! i mean I've used tascam 8 tracks, Sony Acid (you probably don't know this daw if you your 30 or younger) Digital Performer Pro tools, Reason,
logic, reaper, Nuendo/cubase, studio one, LIVE and now luna
more then 20 years lmaoo for me every single daw is basically the same and has the same functionalities... some have small advantages with sounds and plug ins |
I am not always the producer maybe im just the mix engineer to be extremely flexible I offer to mix in daws with plugins they have seeing I have almost every plug in out there. I've seen this request enough over 20 years that I made it part of the benefits of choosing me as a mix engineer!
you literally and again no mean to disrepsect sound like your just watching youtube videos and reading online articles on what your supposed to do and think in music but the best music engineers are out there breaking all traditional rules community creators try to impose like you are doing here. Then people learn some of these broken rules and turn them in to production and engineering SECRETS AND REPACKAGE them in paid videos ...pffttt
im not even the only person I know who will mix for a client in the daw of their choice use google and watch how quickly you find other VERY visible and legendary engineers or producers who use many different DAWS for multiple reasons as I've explained now for the second time!

@@malakiy8688 what is wrong with you? 🤣 you are being aggressive as fuck, even when i said i have a lot to learn and it’s good when you master all daws! I have not said anything mean to you lol!
I also said i don’t have that much experience, that’s why i asked! And that’s why i said what i learned and heard from professional producers!
I also agreed with you that there are no rules in music production…
And i think it simply depends on WHAT kind of producing you do!
For me, who is only interested in specific kinds of genres like house music and techno, it’s pretty common that you use only 1-2 daw’s! That’s what most producers in this genre do, even the professionals… yes there are for sure exceptions like in every other thing too!
I have watched and read interviews or producing sessions with some of my favourite producers like Fred Again for example who is one of the most successful artists in the last time and he uses almost only Logic for example. Or Boris Brejcha who only works with Cubase. And both of them said that they use it because it works perfect for them and their workflow. They also said that it’s important that you use the Daw that works for you the best, master it and just stick with it.
And that’s an example why i thought that it’s better to master one daw than to produce with many.
What i meant with that isn’t that they only use 1 DAW and never another one. When i talk about 1 or 2 DAW‘s then i mean that they’re producing 95% of their music in this 1 or 2 Daw‘s.
That’s why i asked why you produce with so many but you explained that already.
And of course when you get more and more professional, then for sure you’ll get lots of other daw’s and get used to it.
And yes, of course i get most of my informations from youtube or google, where else should i get it from? I don’t studied it, I am a Hobby producer, i learned from videos, trying and asking! Music production is not my Job, it’s my sideline activity, so i have to learn it like this whenever i have time for it…
Which kind of music do you produce? Or what genre?
If you do all kind of music like recording a singer, a rapper, produce hiphop, pop, D&B recording a rock band or country and blues, then for sure you need a lot more different DAW‘s and programs and that’s why you need to go with different request of clients.
But most of people who wants to produce music are into specific genres like myself or a friend of mine who is a rapper. And then things are different for sure.
So i really don’t get why you’re so aggressively… i agreed with you with almost all points and i also said to you that i don’t have that experience that you have and that i still have a lot to learn! 😒 That’s why i asked you and why i said what i learned and why…. That’s the only way i could learn besides videos!
Also i don’t understand all that you say perfectly! That’s another BIG barrier to learn a lot of producing, because my English isn’t the best and all DAW‘s and 90% of all videos or google requests are in english.
A language barrier isn’t always easy… neither to learn things nor to write and discuss in comments… 😐
Tell me please what kind of music you do and tell me a few songs that you have produced so i could hear what you do!
And again! I DON’T MEANT TO BE MEAN! I try to learn! 💀
