God Im going to miss this. I cant believe 9 days ago I saw this in my feed. I thought I was going to watch later(it was a busy week) and then it was all over 8 days later. RIP Ed Piskor, you were such an inspiration, and will live on in our memories, and between the panels. You're with Kirby and Ditko, and all the other greats. Jim Rugg, you are also a great inspiration, a true friend of the medium, and in life Ed, and to all of us. Sorry for your loss, sir. We are here for you in this time of mourning. We will not abandon you. We Never Break Kayfabe. Thank You.
Very bittersweet seeing the channel back up after everything that has transpired. Me and my dad have spent countless hours watching these two provide such captivating commentary on the medium, it felt like no stone was left unturned in the coverage of artists, genres, and years of releases. I can't see myself rewatching at the moment, it's hard enough to see and hear Ed for the first time since the news, but Im extremely grateful that this legacy is perserved, and can further continue for new audiences that come across this duo. Goodbye Caroonist Kayfabe Much love and prayers to Jim Rugg Forever rest in peace Ed Piskor
Ed if you're up there somewhere with the greats i hope you know your contribution to the meduim will never be forgotten. This channel invigorated my passion and love for comics and pop culture as a whole. I have learned a tremendous amount from watching the show. I find myself looking for books that are being forgotten slowly like Puma Blues, Faust, anything Clowes, Alex Toth art, Love and Rockets, etc. I am deeply hurt and will always remember you for the great work you did on this show and the work you've done in the industry. You will not be forgotten, I only wish you would have just thought it through. Many people love you and still do. Many turned their backs on you and you deserved a chance to be heard. I pray that your family and friends find some closure. Cartoonist Kayfabe 4 Life! R.I.P Ed Piskor.
I'm a ball of rage and grief right now and I didn't know where else to go that wouldn't be manipulated by people serving some sort of agenda. CK reignited a love of comics and cartooning I had lost since childhood, and for that I will always be eternally grateful. RIP, Ed. Please forgive us for failing you.
This was so much fun. Its sad to know Ed is no longer hanging around with us but let's keep within us his love and passion for comics. Read more comics!
I just want to say thank you for making the greatest youtube channel I've ever seen. I know I speak for thousands of other fans when we say we love you Ed, and we love you Jim. 😥 Thank you for the hundreds of hours of good times, and for introducing us all to so much wonderful art and writing.
Ed and Jim reinvigorated my love of comics. They reminded me of what was great about the medium and past stories I loved. I will be forever grateful to them.
Waking up this morning to the terrible news. I'm so devastated!! I love Cartoonist Kayfabe so much!! How could this have happened?? RIP Ed Piskor. We needed you!
Jimmy.. you still have to give marching orders. Your marching orders are to continue on with cartoonist kayfabe in memory of your and our friend and fellow comic book head Eddie P. You guys were the best man. If you don't continue this then you let the haters win and we just can't let that happen. So it's on you Jimmy. Ed always wanted to hit 100,000 subs so let's get that plaque for him
Please don't stop making videos guys, you were keeping us all sane as we embarked on our own creative endeavors in this b**** we call life. Ed has no doubt reflected for multiple eternities already on his actions and wishes he could take back what was done. No crime was committed Ed, please don't let this singular shame overtake the >1,000,000 times you have inspired the common man to be greater. I will miss you guys. Personally, It was a joy to watch your videos and an even greater joy to see new ones waiting in the subscription box. Godspeed gentlemen, no matter the decisions made, I thank you deeply for all your hard work; past, present & future!
Truly, Rest In Peace Ed Piskor No matter how it all shakes out…I’m thankful for this channel. For the love and knowledge of comics expressed on this channel, the frankness and no punches pulled critiques of bad art/writing, the way Jim and Ed got the best inside info out of other artists/writers. Just as good as it can get when it comes to loving and appreciating comics. These last couple days have only strengthened that love of comics (and this channel) for me. I’ll save the eulogizing of Ed for those that really knew him as a man, but his love of art always shone through. The way he immersed himself into that murky industry was commendable and fills me with resolve to read more, learn more, appreciate more. Thanks, Jim and Ed for being the reading consiglieres to many, many, many, people.
I wanted to pay my respects and say that I love you two unconditionally and all that you did together. I hope the channel remains up so I can relive the good times
I am SOOO sad this will be the last video of Piskor... Suicide is never the best way to resolve anything, but mental health, especially in comics, is really hard to maintain... I sincerely hope this channel will live on, there is so much good, valuable content and love in here. Thanks for everything, Ed! You will be profoundly miss...
RIP Ed You meant so much to so many people. You and the whole of Cartoonist Kayfabe has and will continue to inspire and be the light for so many lives.
R.I.P. Ed. So heartbroken to hear about the news. Cartoonist Kayfabe has meant so much for me for so long and it was such a great tool to learn about making and reading comics. What you two did was an amazing piece of work that I hope will live on. All my condolences to Ed's family and friends and to you Jim, all the best wishes to you in these hard times.
As a Comics Content Creator based in Saudi Arabia, I want to offer my heartfelt condolences to Ed Piskor’s family and friends I became Ed’s fan because of his X-Men Grand Design work I’m really angry that unproven allegations are more than enough to take away someone’s livelihood, tarnish their reputation Ed did not deserve this
My heart is broken, I'll miss you Ed. You meant a lot to this hobby. And you brought joy and passion to this little community that keeps chugging along. Please Jim, if you can, continue the show?
Just want to say how much I've enjoyed Cartoonist Kayfabe over the years. I really hope it will continue in some form. I've learnt so much from this channel and had a lot of fun. It shouldn't end like this. RIP Ed, condolences to friends and family. Hope you're ok Jim.
I just heard the news, and though I'd only recently found this channel and you two, it hit me like a truck. Rest in piece Ed, your personality was wonderful, as was your talent.
Rest in Peace Ed. That news hit me like a ton of bricks. Just shocked really. Big fan of this channel and the work you both were doing. You made a dope channel for comic creators, and fans. Prayers to his family. Shout out Jim Rugg. Thank you
Regardless of anything Ed was a great talent and didn't deserve what happened my condolences go out to his family and friends this was my favorite comic book channel and I'm gonna Miss hearing Ed and Jim talk about there love for the medium rip Ed
Ed you brought lots of love and knowledge into comics. I will miss hearing your voice as you described art you loved. You were a true artist to the end and wish that you are in a better place. RIP brotha.
We love you jimmy !! I hope you see this.. wherever you are, we are here for you, man … this channel has got me through some rough stuff and BOTH of you mean a lot to this community We will all miss Ed too I’m crying right now thinking about things….
The 80s are easily my favorite decade of comics. Nexus, American Flagg!, Grim Jack, Elementals, Grendel, Mage, Zot!, Miracleman, Scout, Bryne FF, Simonson Thor, Stern Spidey, Claremont X-Men, Secret Wars, Crisis on Infinite Earths… Shall I go on 😅
R.I.P Ed Piskor 😢 I knew about his skill as an artist from comics but I wished I knew about these cool podcasts & interviews prior to his death. The way he spoke so passio ately as a fan of the medium who broke into the majors warms my heart. I only wished this passion could have saved him from the abyss of depression and...yeah.
I don't know if it was the best, but the late 70s to early-mid 80s (Bronze Era) was my favorite. The Marvel stuff in the 60s was perhaps the closest second. I think it may have something to do with the fact that those were the comics of my childhood but it could also be that those comics were the most awesome as well. I've never felt quite the same magic in the 90s or beyond and have little to no interest in comics much beyond that period. I would guess, I'm probably not alone.
Ed, Jim and company…. these videos brought so much joy to my life. To think the channel has lost one of its primary creators to a mob of cancel culture pitchfork wielding gun jumpers is both infuriating and heartbreaking. I hope where ever you are Ed, you know how much this great work of yours meant to so many of us.
Great Vid. I stopped reading most mainstream comics at this time . I was really into Heavy Metal magazine. I was bored with the same old. When Camelot3K came out, slowly I returned. The mid 80s was when comics grew up. Thanks Ed.
Really missing the daily videos. there’s a real emptiness in my day where it was filled with all the great insight about Comics. process and just good shoot-the-shit conversation.
Karen Berger was married to Richard Bruning, writer, designer, DC exec. Bob Rozakis was married to Laurie Rozakis, grammatician and prolific author. Bob Rozakis was my favourite author at theage of 8, which waned, but he did have a lot to do with printing innovations and was also a DC exec.
Yo, Ed, to answer your question: Lone Wolf and Cub is the correct translation of Kozure Okami (子連れ狼). The english movie version was a weird compilation of the first two Kozure Okami movies an renamed to Shogun Assassin, because of marketing reasons. But the movies like the manga were always titled Kozure Okami / Lone Wolf and Cub 29:47
Rest in peace, Ed. We love you. We will miss you, your art, and your perspective on this culture.
Rest in peace, Ed
My condolences to his family, his friends, and his partner Jim.

RIP Ed Piskor. Thank you dearly for the years of artistry and insight. You will be missed
The whole situation sucks. Thank you for sharing your love for comics over the years, Ed. You were a great teacher. Rip.
Rest in peace uncle Ed!!!! My favorite RUclips channel. I will never stop watching and listening!! READ MORE COMICS!
When Ed says at the end "they're gone before you know it" I started to tear up. RIP. Give em the walking orders, Jimmy 😣😢❤
RIP Ed.
Hope this channel stays up so we can enjoy the work you and Jim put into it. Lovers of the craft.

Man what is happening? I was checking out a bunch of your videos as usual and suddenly I'm seeing news reports and I don't know what to think.
