You hit the nail on the head, we need to preform as a team rather than gold stars for individual performance, Scrum must be solid the centre partnership must gel, there has to be patten to our play and creativity and our defence must improve.
Yeah, hopefully Australia scrum won’t be very good either and we can get parity and if that’s the case, maybe we can see some more structure and game patterns being deployed. We can hope anyway 😂
Hi Christian, Agree with what you said, bit of experience with Cory Hill like last Saturday's game it was go to see Liam Williams. My concern on this is the Queensland Reds than the Australia team, same again as the last game very nervous but excited, thanks for the update let see how it goes catch you soon, Take care
Yeah, I think you’re right Shaun. Funny enough quite a few people have said they were worried about the reds game. I think we will see a more experimental side and we never do good when we put out experimental teams.😬
the only thing that comforts me now is the strength in the back row, Morgan at 6 refel at 7 and wainwright at 8 all world class with other future stars in the team
Yeah, no doubt in that one he will put out an experimental team and history shows that we’ve always struggled when we do that. Let’s keep fingers crossed for a win though mate because we’re desperate.😂
If you're building for the future, it's Ratti ,I just can't understand the selection of Hill Hathaway and Grace will be interesting both have great potential in my view. Really need to sort out the attack .Alex King seemed to do okay at Gloucester but it's not clicking for Wales at the moment
If we had second rows fit we would have the likes of Adam Beard, Rhys Davies, Teddy Williams, James Fender all available. Add Dafydd Jenkins and Christ Tshiunza and suddenly the engine rooms looks very competitive.
@@TheWelshSportsPodcast Carter definitely still has a future with Wales it's mad to think he is 23. It will be interesting to see who plays and is benched against Aus I feel Gats is leaning towards Tshiunza being a second row and less of a 6.
I think wales biggest problem is fly half. I just don’t see costellow standing up to the plate. I would have preferred to see Ioan Lloyd in the team. He’s far more committed to a game plan than costellow. I thought Beetham looked pretty confident at 10 when he came on so would be good to see him have a proper swing for it against Australia.
I really don’t think Lloyd is the answer. Costellow is just so devoid of any confidence at the moment that I’m praying he finds some and find some form along with it😬
@@TheWelshSportsPodcast I just think when it comes to attack. Wales and the scarlets looked a lot more dangerous with Lloyd on the pitch. He’s very young and he doesn’t always make the right decisions but he has so much more ambition than Costellow. I’ve not really seen a single performance from Costellow in a Welsh jersey(maybe the warm up game in Cardiff in 2023) to justify his place
That’s fair enough, I think against Georgia in the World Cup we saw him open some stuff up for the players but I do take your point. I just think he’s been asked to play a completely different way to his natural game at the Scarlets and it seems like he’s really struggling to adjust to that I do really think there’s a good player in there and if we could get some go forward ball and a steady platform we might see that player come out 🙏🏼
@@TheWelshSportsPodcast you have Jarrad Evans signed by harlequins they don’t sign nobody’s, I don’t understand why he wouldn’t get the call. Sam has had so many opportunities and has failed to do anything. Give Jarrad that opportunity he can’t possibly be worse.
The squad has improved marginally in my opinion with the return of the English based players I think we will see a few changes in the starting 15 [not including those from injury] I can see N.TOMKINS RETURNING TO 12 AND M.GRADY AT 13 Also cannot understand why T.Rogers isn't touring He is at least a known quantity While J.Hathaway/ .J.Beetham iare completely unknown at test level Still cannot realistically see Wales wining any of the forthcoming tests [ unfortunately ] As i feel J.Schmidt will have Australia AT LEAST DOING THE BASICS WELL Which atm Wales are not doing We will see what we will see and what happens will happen here's hoping the matches are competitive and close at least
Yeah, I agree about Schmidt. I’ve always rated him as a coach, which makes me slightly worried for this tour. haven’t said that I’m really hopeful that the boys can pull something out of the locker as we’re absolutely desperate for a win. Maybe a few more weeks together, will give us a marked improvement 😬

Dewi Lake is the next Ken Owens, trust me when I say that 🏴💪
I like that comp mate. I think Lake can be a lions captain tbh
Very high praise indeed. And I'll second your comment.
I'll Third it, Dewi is the next Ken
Can I forth it? Because if I can. I Forth that statement 👌🏼🏴

Yeah, I agree. We actually got a good bit of depth there too.
Have to say im still confiden of a good tour! Only match im a bit worried about is Queenslands reds!!

Yeah, it looked okay in the World Cup too. But since then we’ve really struggled. Maybe the lack of Dan bigger in the squad is telling.🤷🏻♂️
I think Alex king is undermined by rob howley. Alex king can't get much input in the attack as of rob howley and his absolute howlers of tactics
Things have been worse since he’s been there to be fair😬

Yeah agreed. I thought carter and screech looked ok tbh

Yeah maybe. Tshiunza is a bit small for international SR for me. I’d like to see him at 6 and see how he goes
@@TheWelshSportsPodcast Taller than Hill and Screech weighs the same as both as well.
Oh really! I did not know that. He looks smaller some how 😂 that does make that an interesting choice 🤔

So Costalow is still 10 then 🤦♂️
Looks that way one specialist 10, with Ben Thomas part time 10 and Betham played 10mins at 10 since leaving school
Yeah, it’s very strange. It seems like he’s using body type as his selection policy at 10. 🤷🏻♂️
