@@susanciaramella9472 the original is an original. Rod Stewart covered it with Jeff Beck. Beck who also covered it with several other singers. Which are on the list. Now which is best. Well it lies with the listener. Was Jeff Becks version of Day in a Life better? Or as one great said did anyone ever ask the famous painter to paint another Starry Night. No they didn't. Did anyone copy it ? Yes was it better? It looked the same but it just wasn't. I will say this Curtis Mayfield exuded a soul sound that Rod Stewart could not match. It's really hard to say that a cover version is better than the original. It can emulate but that's it. That being said Jeff Becks melody interpretation of any song on the guitar is second to none. Another example of a good cover is example is BIG Todd's cover of Springsteens Rosalita.
@@louisevad6091 I know it's a cover. But the original singer is far from blues/soul. He is very out of tune and his pitch lacks. Rod on the other hand, is the opposite. Has great pitch and is never out of tune. Plus his voice is one in a million voices. There really is no comparison. But being how popular Rod is, many would agree. The original singer is SO bad that I couldn't even stand listening to him. As for Jeff... well his playing speak for itself, just like Rods voice. 🙂
@@susanciaramella9472 you have to be some kinda nut to say Curtis Mayfield doesn’t know how to sing his own song!! That’s the dumbest thing I herd this millennium.
Faith, is a gift from God at spiritual rebirth when we repent from sin, let the saviour in and confess Him as Lord. Belief alone is insufficient. We MUST, be born again.
No gift from God is made to a person who is sinless nor necessarily to a person who has repented for sinning. Alcoholics hit bottom not because they cease to be alcoholics. We are all in the same boat. To 'be born again' is to noetically "See God". Jesus said not pointing to himself, "...for they shall see God...". Then in this world, the μετανοια begins; the end is Heaven.
What a soulful song! Love Curtis Mayfield ❤ & Taylor Dayne..great vocals & backup musicians.

On days like today I’m ready to climb on and go see my mom who left us 16 years ago
Beautiful. I love Curtis Mayfield's gentle and soulful singing and playing.
Just right for the coming of our new angel Jeff, RIP mr. Beck.
It's raining in northern California. Just the day for me to listen to this great piece of music...off and on all day. Very spiritually soothing.
Great performance, but equally great is seeing Jools Holland in the credits as a writer. No wonder the band was always good.
My man Curtis
One love 🌏
Great!
Godfather Curtis

I'm ready.
Night music show
♥️♥️
So come on
Taylor is a good singer. Rod's & Jeff version of this song is SO much better!
Yeah, how dare Curtis sing and play a song he also wrote…
Just because he wrote & sang it doesn't mean that he sang it best. Actually Rod Stewart sounds MUCH better!

Isn't the sax player David Sanborn?
Yesss
Hiram, Curtis, David, and David. Godspeed.
Great duo to a soulful song❤
Love Taylor Dayne
Amazing rendition of the song.
Rendition? You do know Curtis wrote this classic right? I think you mean beautiful "arrangement" .
Soul Brother #1
Wow this footage is gold, wish my younger brother and sisters knew of Mrs Mayfield
David Lindley ❤
Sublime
I grew up with these albums my mom had
David Sanborn, not Linley
My man played the hell out of that sax
Curtis and Taylor laying it down. What a classic song. From back in the day when SNL was a free show to watch.
