OMG love this jam I'm 67 yrs old and I still listen to it👍
72 ,👍
I played this song in the car taking my 7 year old granddaughter somewhere with me and she was just mesmerized by Chaka’s voice. By the time the chorus came around the second time she was belting it out and asking me to play more of her songs.
Fun story! Thanks for sharing. My son at 10 yrs heard I Feel For You and he was hooked on Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan. Play Chaka's Own The Night from The Miami Vice soundtrack. She'll most certainly get a kick out of that song.
You and we all have an obligation to teach the next generation good music and be sure to hand her a vinyl record or a CD and tell her this is how you listen and appreciate great music no mp3 or streaming done here.
@@josephcontreras8930 . Oh you know that I have her CD and I also have quite the vinyl collection, I just can't play them in our vehicle. She is in violin classes and she has also been studying the saxophone, my favorite instrument. She is learning at church. We have a wonderful program.
@@Nonayabizness360 you are truly blessed.
She was absolutely GORGEOUS!....#blackexcellence✊🏾

Marneen Carter #racist
She still is
Was ?
And still is!
Love this funky groove tune, it makes me dance along. Chaka Khan is gorgeous, love her voice, outfit and moves. Band and Rufus is sooo handsome-talented and those vocal moans…Omg. You can’t sit still while listening, no way, get up and move!!!

Rufus and Chaka Khan.. when this came out it knocked our socks off! and we were playing Folk Rock... She's the Queen!
Summer of 74, rushing to the radio EVERYTIME this came on (which was about 9 to 10 times a day), handball, hangin' out until the street lights came on. Funk was the season: Herbie Hancock, "Chameleon", The Ohio Players, "Skin Tight" Main Ingredient, "Happiness is just around the Bend" and Rufus and Chaka Khan! MAN...what a time to be alive!!!
As a 28 year old watching this I feel blessed to have got to see her live at cross the tracks festival in the UK a fee years ago. She has so much stage presence, then and now. My children will love Chaka too ❤ TIMELESS
When Chaka Khan sings, "I've got something that will sure enough set your stuff on fire," I can only nod and know that she has somehow seen right through me. Thank you for this beautiful restored video.
How do you know she's not TALKING about the divorce papers she's about to serve you with,?
Andrew I screamed when I read your comment!!!
@@neilgibbons2532 Or a box of matches? 😁
Andy!...lol
Im nodding along with you buddy..
So soulful and funky. PERFECTION! Thanks Chaka & Rufus
First heard this groove in August 1974 while at YMCA Summer Camp. Chaka Khan & Rufus entered into my personal lexicon that year. Been a fan ever since.
Chaka was so dang fine!
Yeah...I had the Chaka poster on my wall when i was in high school!
Chaka. That voice
Was and still is ;)
y
Yesssss!
look at Chaka Khan. She was a knock out!!!
Chaka yes was super sexy and I love watching her set stuff on fire 🔥. She always sexy !!!
Still is
She still is
Florinda Collins I’m knocked out
Florinda Collins Was she still is.
I appreciate music to the highest form, This group plus Ms.Chaka made great songs
Chaka is the last of my favorite divas still alive. The other 2, Donna Summer and Aretha Franklin are no longer with us. All of the legends passing away. A sure sign you're getting old.
Just gotta let you know that Patti LaBelle has waay more singing chops than Donna Summer...
Tina Turner is still alive
@@garyaugustus1009 What does thay have to do with their favorites? Never did they say any of then sing better than anyone only that they are their favorites.
@@kristianm6102 Gladys Knight and Diana Ross too.
Another sure sign of getting old is your favorite music is now on the oldies station.
Loved this song first time I heard it in the mid 1970's. And it still rocks.. Go Chaka Khan & Rufus...
What a smooth groove... funk. done right.....
For sure, Tim! I heard it on WLS (Chicago) on my handlebar mounted transistor AM radio, while doing my paper route!
Go Chaka
@@MrDenniske1 I was in the area then also and yes, WLS was da chit!
Natural freaking beauty... To go along with that amazing voice.
Seen Ms. Chaka, Thursday, August 3, 2022 at Indiana State Fair. It was a nice show and seeing one of my favorite artist was a wonderful treat!
Tell her we, youngins, are listening. It's kinda chill. Tell me something good!💃🎙
I got to se her on riverboat in the big easy. I saw her getting out of a white limo, dressed all in white. I got a smile from her❤❤❤
OMG she's so gorgeous & talented. I love these old music clips from the 70's. She's a Queen.
A big big hit at the roller rinks. Every time played it got crazy fast and fun. Still dances in my head. I just wish there was more videos of this song. Love to over ride the bass
This is an absolutely study on what music should be!
The 'technology' is the creativity of the backing musicians, Chaka is amazing, the band embrasses the doctrine of 'less is more' and they deliver the tightest piece of funk ever recorded!
16 beats and the perfect voice, produces instant classic jams
Wonder what Stevie was thinking when he wrote this masterpiece? Sure enough FUNK FIRE!!! Love this!
This was before my time. Why is she not in the music hall of fame. These were real musicians and singers
Black girl magic.... She always been beautiful... 2019 & 80's baby in the house
❤

She is sweet, and one serious musician, ive played with the keyboard player in Nashville and talked to jr Robinson (white drummer) who was in love with her, and also in Rufus, this is not known to public lol so i figured i would impress you with that tid bit of info
This was when Stevie Wonder was writing hit tunes in his sleep. He wrote this tune for her and it is at the top of his peak years. If you listen carefully, you will hear him in the background.
Stevie was bad (in a good way)! I've always been a fan of his!
Kevin Bland
Actually Chaka co-wrote this song with him. She said she just never got song writing credit, it was common for new artist back then.
Ronald W
uh no she didn't
Not sure about her cowriting. He said he had already written the tune and gave it to her shortly after they met.
Kevin Bland Chaka wrote this with Stevie....
One of the best female vocalist's!
No doubt about it...
I love this song. It should still be played today!! Beats a decent share of the current music. And it brings back lotsa good memories!!
I saw them in San Diego in 1974. Great show. Chaka is one of a kind. Putting most recent singers to shame.
I saw her for the first time on the Midnight Special and feel in love and have been in love with over the past 35 years.
This song is as good today as it ever was! Awesome!
