I know Judy's videos are meant to be entertaining, and sometimes shocking but I truly worry about her health. Dirty makeup brushes can spread staph, herpes, conjunctivitis, strep and E. coli to name a few.
right?! the way these "MUAs" go into her eyes gives me the heebee jeebies.
Church 😭 I like these videos but I feel physical pain at the dirty stuff. Im in healthcare and I refuse to even put a tourniquet on someone if I've dropped it... and that's just, an arm or something.... that I'm going to clean either way... ahhhhhhh

Lol he would definitely have a different vibe from Gordon though because he cares about people’s feelings. “Now I really love what you’re going for here, but I think we’ll be a little more successful if we don’t give our client a staph infection, so how about I just take these brushes…and throw them in the bin…” Meanwhile his face is just utter shock and mortification.

He dropped the sponge on the floor and used it on her MOUTH. HER MOUTH. I can't believe how many people were defending this guy in the comments of her original video. The process and end result wasn't just lack of education, it was lack of giving a f*** IMO. Even working on a makeup counter with MINIMAL training, we never behaved this way or let someone leave with their face looking like that. So disgusting.
People were actually defending his work? That's insanity at its finest 😬🙄
Not only THAT.... But the lip gloss.... Every time I see one of these artists do this allllll that runs through my head is Herpes, Cold Sores, and I want to hurl.... She is far braver than I am... I'd have lost my MIND if someone even tried to put that wand on my lips... And that mascara was absolutely disgusting!!!! I got pink eye when I was like 13. I was at my friend's house & my mom didn't allow make up yet, but hers did, so she offered her make up to me. I said something about not sharing eye makeup bc it's bad and she said Omg, I don't have anything, so you can't catch anything from me.... Neither one of us understood what was meant by not using each other make up not bc someone can have something, but bc of mixing bacteria, etc... And yep... I got pink eye immediately following. And thank God that's all I got!
I also have a good friend who gets cold sores. We both love make up, but that's one thing she's very aware of. I've offered her my tube lipstick before bc you can just wipe it onto your hand and she won't even do that.... She just says nah, my cold sores, I'd rather just buy it and if I hate it on me, I'll cut the top off and give it to you... That these "professionals" use these products on God knows who, then sticks the wand back in... We are talking Once you get it, you can't get rid of it, a lifelong sore on the mouth that will always have people side eye you, lol... It sounds harsh, but it's the truth... Ya, no thanks. I'd have sat bolt upright on the sponge hitting the floor... I'd have LOST my everloving mind if he came at me with some nasty lipstick wand straight out of the tube. Nope, lol
@@Em22-wtf You've have a great friend. So many people don't think twice about sharing lip products, eating or drinking from others and kissing you or a baby with an active cold sore. I don't like kissing anyone on the mouth but my son and husband because once you get HS1 it's with you for the rest of your life...

Honestly I think its probably genetics. I have done so many crimes to my skin as a teenager and hadn't gotten infected by any of it but my siblings or friends would do the same with a lot better stored shit and get various infections. Maybe shes not as reactive towards bacteria? Like most infections' symptoms aren't from the bacteria but from your body's reactions (think fever, runny nose, coughing, etc.) its your body telling illness to fuck off not the illness itself.
I choose to believe Judy goes come and takes a Silkwood shower and takes a load of potent life saving vitamins after she films.

Some good make-up artist like Robert should do a show like the Gordon Ramsay's one where he goes to bad hotels and restaurants and does an intervention , but instead, intervening these horrible salons and MUAs. It would be so much fun to watch!

@@YoungDymisty Well, it's not working well. Her skin doesn't look healthy to me. I'm 60 years old and my skin surface is smooth and pretty much even toned. Go back in this video and watch ever close up of her face. The surface of her skin has problems...look at those areas where her skin looks like the very top layer is damaged and the tiny bumps. That's from abusing her skin. She needs to stop this before she gets a disease that will totally ruin her face.
I did makeup on some models yesterday (good god was I nervous), and if it hadn't been for you Robert, it wouldn't have turned out nearly as well. The makeup itself was very passable, but I was so aware of keeping everything hygienic and where I was placing my hands on the models, etc. Thank you so much for all the industry knowledge you share.
No, it turned out well because of your talent and technique! I see something in you that I do... (Correct me if I'm misreading your comment.) I tend to 1) downplay my talent in EVERY field, and 2) blame positive outcomes on others helping me.
Ugh, this dude has so much potential, if he’d just have some training on hygiene & color theory. He’s clearly a hair stylist from his stained nails, I can’t believe he’s not more hygienic 🫠

He really doesn't. If you care so little about a customer's health and comfort, compounded with a complete lack of awareness of modern styles and what a real human wants their face to look like, there is no potential. Once you've reached the point of being literally fine with picking up a sponge from the floor and putting it on someone's mouth you are beyond redemption.
@@lucyjane3803 I meant he has potential to be a good makeup artist if he’d care more about hygiene & get proper makeup training, bc his eyeshadow blend & eyeliner were pretty decent. But he clearly doesn’t know or just doesn’t care about hygiene & if he’s willingly being nasty & putting his clients at risk, then no, there’s absolutely no potential for him.

Elf has great liner adhesive strips and first sticking it to your hand a few times is so important or you are just pulling at the skin and irritating the eye area. But those elf strips you can cut in half and double the amount and they are just like $3 for a pack.
I love the elf ones! I also cut them in half so one strip is good for both eyes.
Not only did he use her as a counter top to clean his brushes, he opened up her shirt to fold the tissue in 🤢
Basically what we need is a show like Kitchen Nightmares where Robert yells at unhygienic makeup artists who have some skill and then coaches them to be better.
The hygiene issues are so so so so so dangerous. You could literally lose an eye to infection. Imagine if that tape had caused some abrasions and then the puff from the floor had bacteria on it??? Direct bloodstream access that could lead to like a staph infection. She is a brave soul. I would have run out of there screaming
I absolutely love this videos but at the same time I start to suffer through them. It's so disgusting to see the dirty brushes and the products being used directly on her after who knows how many people 😐
Honestly, this is one of the best 'bad makeup' looks that I've seen on Judy D (which I discovered thanks to Robert, and I enjoy very much). Robert, your comments are priceless!!! You don't make fun of people but rather give tips and tricks for all of us to improve. Thanks, Robert, for this kind of content 👏👏👏
These people always go for such dramatic eye looks! Until you have the skill to actually make a dramatic green winged eye look good on your client, just do something simpler! And charging $80 for something so poorly executed with no regard for hygiene or for her basic comfort?? Sheesh.

Thos dotted lines at or around 14:11 actually REALLY helped me understand exactly what you were saying and that is actually really going to help me with my makeup. Placement of color on the lids is a struggle for my bc i have slightly hooded lids so i can't just follow any ol makeup tutorial. Thank you so much Robert!!
This isn't the worst makeup job I've seen Judy go through lol the skills are there, but like you said; it needs to be worked on. Hygiene being the first & most important thing. Teach that man how to clean his brushes between clients & use disposables when necessary, THEN work on the little tweaks w his technique lol

Robert, do not feel old!! You look great! I’m 39 and I am on disability for complications from spina bifida. I feel about 99 lol 😂 but seriously you and your content have truly helped me through so many difficult times and helped me look better especially when I feel so sick sometimes and my makeup is my therapy. I’m thinking of doing something on skill share but there’s so many things I want to learn about that I can’t decide where to start lol 🤣 thank you as always for the informative but fun content! 🫶🏻
Totally get makeup being therapy. It distracts us from our pain temporarily and makes us feel good inside and out. I was a home health aide for a young woman with spina bifida about 20 years ago; at that time, I was 23 and she was 19, and though she had to spend a lot of her days in bed, we loved doing our makeup together! I learned a lot from her about looking at the silver lining (and that it's fine to be pissed off sometimes, too).
I'm 43 now and am struggling with health issues of my own. I can relate when you say you feel 99. Just saw a specialist today--I was so lucky to get an appointment as soon as I did--and am hoping for some relief soon.

Same, not just invasively reaching under her clothes without asking or warning her but then continuing to rub brushes on it while holding it with his other hand… it’s way too close to the breast region for any of that imo.
I actually think that ‘break’ in the makeup where he put the gems could’ve been a cool graphic thing if it was done properly👀🙈
I watched this video of Judy quite recently and almost died when I saw him dropping that sponge and using it on her face, I wouldn't do it at home with a sponge that only I'm using.
I think that this whole makeup could've been saved by doing upper lid as it was (just without the eyeliner), soft brown on lower lid, light/medium coverage foundation and nude lips. Light but colourful.
I feel like after making these videos, Judy goes to the doctor to get a check-up and maybe some shots.
I think Judy is such an amazing girl for putting herself through these things for our entertainment! Thank you Judy! You’re a rockstar!

The lack of hygiene in these videos makes my skin crawl! In cosmetology school we were taught hygiene before anything we learned, doing hair, doing nails, doing makeup, hygiene was drilled into our routines so that it became second nature to us! I couldn’t imagine using dirty brushes on someone or having someone use dirty brushes on me, I would get up and leave if an artist tried to use dirty brushes or tools on me! If you’re going to work on clients you make sure you have enough clean brushes to use on several clients or you make sure to allow time between clients to clean and dry your brushes, like Robert said there’s so many brush cleaners now that clean and sanitize and dry in seconds! And NEVER use liners or mascaras or lipsticks or glosses etc directly from the tube on someone’s skin, use disposable applicators and NEVER double dip, or dispense some onto a clean acrylic or metal palette and apply from there! They even make acrylic palettes that you can actually wear on your hand! You can be sued if you give someone an infection!
It makes me feel like people in Ecuador don’t believe in germs 😬😬😬 (I’m kidding, I know it’s just laziness and the fact that they can apparently get away with it)

I was taught you can disinfect a felt tip liner with some 70% IPA, or, even better, some BeautySoClean. Dip it in and let it dry or thoroughly spritz. No different than using eyeshadow powders that have had cross contact with moister bits of the eye/the eye imo. You have to disinfect those too and let them dry.

omg ROBERT thank you for the moisturizer on the tissue tip! Sometimes i try and clean up w makeup remover, and then get frustrated I have to re-prep the skin, so that's perfect.

my friend from high school used to shut out all natural light to put on her makeup shed spend hours doing her make up she had natural porcelain skin beautiful but would put on 6 shades too dark and layer it thick then going out in the sun it always looked cakey and harsh it did make her look older which was all the fashion for teenagers in the early 2000s 20years later and she even darker now lol and I'm pretty sure she went to collage to become a make up artist 😱
I saw this video the other day & was hoping you would do a reaction video. There is zero hygiene. I'd come out of there with a huge infection. I'm half Equadorian and $80 is way too expensive for the average person. Especially for the outcome. The eye look wasn't too bad I guess.

I work in beauty retail. My coworkers who are artists have cleaning stations for their brushes. It’s my job (one of my jobs) to make sure they have cleaner and drying racks cleared and cleaned. I also spray brush sanitizer on the clean brushes.
Watching him use dirty tools bothered me on a spiritual level. I have really severe eczema and have to clean my brushes on the daily. Just ewww.
He did ok, for the most part. He should have gone lighter with the foundation and I would have gone with a nude lip to make the eyes pop.
I cannot fathom how Judy is able to sit through these makeovers without breaking character. I’d be screaming or cackling my way throughout. 😱
I feel like we’re watching third-world make-up sensibility in action. She even says “gypsy bride” vibes in the video. I’m not sure that it is fair to judge other cultures by western standards of color choice and aesthetic. Hygiene is VERY questionable for sure, tho.
just once i'd like to see her go to a top rated makeup artist so we may all see how a professional artist works.... not that i don't enjoy robert stopping to explain corrections lol

I wonder if the makeup artist was colour blind? He made some wild choices with the shades, and the foundation was so off, it's scary. Somehow, I don't hate the end result, but I think $80 for that is a lot. Also, I hope Judy doesn't get a skin infection - and the tape he used was scary. I get an allergic reaction from even bandaids, and the tape was so sticky I'd probably have very red undereyes after removing it.

About the tape, I never use Scotch tape to help with my eyeshadow, I prefer paper tape because it peels off much easier without having to stick it on your arm or back of your hand and remove some of the adhesive
The guy cleaning his brush off her shoulder fucking SENT MEEEEEEE. I don’t even wear makeup and that shit made me so concerned and dying laughing so hard.

That pencil isn’t even sharpened, she must be in agony! Why is he pressing so hard on her eye with brush?? “ I really entertain myself watching her. I can’t erase all the Robert training I’ve had 🤷♀️ it’s been eye opening to have an ACTUAL mua see this and comment. Even not being a mua myself I wouldn’t go 500 feet near these places. Judy is always taking one for the team. How she doesn’t have an entire body fungus at this point is astounding!! Girls got the best immune system on the planet. She should’ve donated her blood for the covid vaccination 🤣

Thank you, yes surgical tape and definitely one which is hypoallergenic or latex free. I feel like, a lot of MUAs, don't understand the difference between stage makup, editorial make, glam makeup and natural makeup. It's like all they understand is over the top super strong chiseled makeup. Blending is super important and understanding what is appropriate for which setting or event.
Im still working on my blending after not being able to do my make up for a year (and not being that good at it to begin with). His blending skills are way better than mine. But the hygiene, completely wrong shades, etc. At least i know how to do that lol. I have an auto immune system disease, just watching the mascara wand my eyes water 😂. I'll have to go check out Judy. This is my first time seeing a video with her in it and I do like her sense of humor....and how brave she is 🖤
Robert I have such a random question. As a makeup artist, if your client has dyed hair that’s darker than their natural color, do you do eyebrows in the natural color, dyed color, or somewhere in between? Thanks for another great video ❤️
I'm not Robert, but if you want them to look natural I would do an in between shade, or you can start with the lighter shade and darken it from the midle towards the tail if it's not too much contrast.

Not the worst?! For $80 in an economy where $80 would be like $300 or more somewhere else, and in the Covid-era, it's the worst. You are too nice. It wouldn't be the worst if this was Halloween makeup, and she had asked to be an alien robot. Her entire face looks like it is metallic green.

I just don’t understand what make up “artist” looks at this woman’s lovely skin and decides that they need to cake as much base make up as possible onto it?!😱 she’s a make up artist dream!
I love watching Judy’s videos. I found her from watching her brothers videos and it’s tragic the makeup she has done. I can’t believe most of these people call or consider themselves professional MUAs. The dirty sponges, brushes and using Wands from the actual products grossed me out the most. I work in ophthalmology and taking a mascara wand and subjecting it to the air even…without putting it on anybody’s eyes, and then putting it back into the container, poses a possibility for bacteria to grow inside. The potential infections that could be caused from it are insane. I don’t think people realize, but we all naturally have Mites on our eyelashes called “demodex “and using the same wand on multiple people and then sticking it back into the container is just a recipe for disaster. I’m surprised one of these makeup artists hasn’t been sued for somebody going blind from one of their crap makeup jobs. It’s totally disgusting. I’ve only ever had my makeup done twice and both times I was just completely disappointed with how it turned out and I wound up fixing it myself… But I do have to say that both times I had my makeup done… The makeup artists used clean sponges that were disposable and used disposable wands for not only the mascara… But also for the lipstick and lip liner and eyeliner, and also didn’t press their hands all over my head or make me lay Back in some weird chair like I’ve seen Judy have to do. They were both very delicate and worked around me to make me as comfortable as I possibly could be, and so at least for that… I’m appreciative… Even if I didn’t like the way the end result was.

I hate to admit it but…I had no idea you and James were twins. I discovered James and have been binging some of his videos and sort of let youtube play the next one and got so incredibly confused with the different vibe and when you said robert welsh. I was all like, did he change his name? When did that happen? Thanks for the most exciting part of my day haha.

I literally just wanna come to the UK and get my makeup done by you! gah, that would be so much fun! you've helped me so much over the last month because I finally got back into makeup after so long of not wearing any. bronzer, highlight, and contour weren't things back when I did wear makeup (or if they were, I didn't know about them!), so I've learned A LOT from you. but to actually get a bomb ass makeup look by you would be so amazing!

Hey, Robert! Just to give some technical feedback, the volume of her video is pretty quiet, so when the ads come on it's quite a startling difference in volume lol
Another good way to get mascara off skin is to let it dry & take a clean spoolie (don't think that's spelled correctly) & gently brush the dried mascara off.
As a someone who is a cosmetologist is the lack of hygiene and sanitation of the brushes and how close the tape is at her eye and honestly this horrifying thins runs a huge a risk for infection! But there should be a through consultation with the guest and ask what they prefer for eye shadow and present them choices. Also the color above the eyebrow is so off and dose not match her at all, I was scared for foundation not going to lie .
