    I don’t buy a watch worrying about depreciation. I buy a watch because I like it, it talks to me. Two Rolex’s, Sub Date & Batgirl. Three Omegas, Black & White Speedmaster 3861 & Blue SMP300. I purchased all because I wanted them. Don’t give a shit about depreciation.😏🇦🇺

    Only young people think an “Homage” brand like Tudor is better than Omega.

    You dont own an Omega…
    You own “The Moonwatch”.
    It’s its own thing…

    I’ve always loved Omega for their designs above anything else. Yes, Tudor have METAS movement with a better power reserve now, but they are just the exact copy of older Rolexes. Also, anyone who knows movements will tell you that Tudor use Chinese parts for their movements while Omega manufacture them under the Swatch umbrella, having lower margin for their watches overall. I don’t even talk about Tudor’s QC issues and the fact that the bracelet doesn’t match the watch case on all of their watches.

      Wow😮 That’s actually sound like you are a watch maker. I would like to know though,Which part of the movement that you think Tudor use it from the china manufacturer? Because I always think that it is there “in house “ movement but anyway thanks a lot for your infos, mate.

    • @shiot
      @shiot 2 месяца назад

      @@user111-y4c I am not a watchmaker, I quoted someone who is, who said that in a YT video. In house means that it is designed and produced by the company who sells the final product (watch). It doesnt mean that all the parts for the movement itself are produced on the manufacturer’s factory. They are often outsourced to other manufacturers (the same happens with bracelets, by the way. Think about IWC’s clasp that is identical to what Glashütte Original do). Usually, producing around 70% of the parts is enough to call yourself ‘in-house’. Some companies like Glashütte Original produce 98% of the watch (not only the movement, but also screws and screwdrivers, etc.) in house, and while Omega is miles apart from GO, Tudor is miles apart a from Omega in that respect. They still can’t fix the bracelet problems.

    It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of amzwatch's watch 99% of people will never see.

    Hey there, I've recently found your channel and really enjoy your content. I think you are spot on with some points considering Omega. A reissue of the Speedy reduced with a 39mm or 40mm case would be fantastic. Then they could get rid of the 38mm-Lineup because nobody is buying them (at least according to my Omega-AD). If Tudor introduces the 5-link-bracelet into the regular BB Chrono-lineup and manages to reduce the thickness of the watch Omega might run into some trouble with they current Speedy-lineup I think. In regards to the SMP 300 I think it is still reasonably priced when you just go for the regular one and skip the 60th-Bond-Anniversary edition.

      Me also. I’m agree with your point of view. Omega is very good but no improvement. Recently I bought Railmaster Brand new only usd 3100. If you want to spend 10k its better buys the crown.

    Love my planet ocean, would love an AT and a Speedy, but can't get everything all at once. I think you could make a 3 watch collection out of tudor's, but Omega's 3 watch collection would blow it away.

    Nice. Have several 1960s pieces which is a separate story, but I have 5 more recent neovintage ones - SMP, AquaTerra. All bought preowned. 2K apiece. They're great. Buying Omega at retail indeed sounds crazy. If you love a 2024 model, give it a few years, then buy it preowned.

    If you buy watches for their resale value and not for the joy they bring you, you are in the hobby for the wrong reasons.
    On the concept of value for money, youtubers often make the mistake of favoring the cheaper watch. For example a Tudor BB41 vs an Omega SMP. When you handle both watches, it is obvious that the Omega is of better quality. The Omega movement is definitely superior. All of this comes at a price. And all of this gives value to a watch.

    Great video. I have two Omegas, two Rolex's and a BB54 which is my daily. Love to buy more Omegas but the prices are now unrealistic. Stuff that like you said about two new two toned Speedies. If they were around 20k I'd buy one.

    Im tired og people talking about losing money on watches. If you like it just buy it and enjoy it. Just like you buy a new nice bed or a new big TV. It's the same thing. You buy to enjoy it for many years.

    Interesting perspective, i didn't know boutiques say that about their rivals.
    I just wanted to let you know about Omega's innovation. About a year ago, i think they came with a 'spirate system' which basically is a highly accurate movement of 0-2+ seconds. So basically 2x more accurate than a rolex and 3x more accurate than modern omegas. It's only available in super racing speedmaster. They said they will implement it in other models gradually. I recommend watching their interview with 'revolution watch'. Their interview with Gregory kissling and ceo of omega to learn about it in depth.
    Other than that, enjoy your honest perspective. There is so much pretentiousness in the watch community. Your videos are quite refreshing.

    If you are looking at the financial aspect when buying an omega, maybe you shouldn't be buying an omega. Go buy something cheaper, like a $20 casio.

    Omega has heritage and its own designs. They either appeal to you or not. I own a speedmaster, and love it. Omega has released more watches in one year than Tudor in last 5 years. Tudors entire black bay range is just a homage to old Rolex, not a single original thought. Omega should be compared to Rolex in terms of finish and movements. Tudor compared to Pagini. Lets be generous. Posh pagini.

  • @impoautosguatemala9847

    Tudor is not a logical choice, it is a rolex homage, a cheap watch 0 heritage besides that it is the poor man's rolex, it's in their DNA.

    Tudor 70 hours of power reserve but it's built by kenisi movement and the chronos with breitling base haha, poor finishing, boring design and there's the rolex design homages.

    Omega watches are for people who own their environment when they walk into the room, they already have pedigree before putting on an omega watch. These watches are not for lanky pretenders who think they’re part of a class just because they got their hands on one, just like this channel. Ugh.

    The Aqua Terra is not an Omega line 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ it is part of the Seamaster line - Omega has 3 lines - Speedmaster, Seamaster, Comstellation

    • @justinmello2810
      @justinmello2810 2 месяца назад

      Wrong. Constellation is not a Seamaster. Seamaster comes in SMP 300 diver, aqua terra, and lastly Heritage models. Constellation is completely different watch. And more of a dress watch than any of them.

    • @sumitkar8146
      @sumitkar8146 2 месяца назад

      @@justinmello2810 I did not say Constellation is a Seamaster - I said the Aqua Terra is part of the Seamaster line. Omega has 3 pillars and all watches fall within those 3 lines - Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation. Please look at an Aqua - on the dial it clearly say Seamaster. For example the Planet Ocean line - it also falls under the Seamaster line - just because it is another watch does not mean it does not fall within their three pillars

    • @sumitkar8146
