This is what happens when you have an illegal monopoly on electricity. Extremely high prices, very poor maintenance/ quality control and zero accountability.
Second downtown power outage? More like third in a week if you count the Kamehameha Day outage in Chinatown on June 11th.
An elderly friend of fam lives on senior apt on Pauahi. she said power was out for almots 11 hours on Kam day. know one told her whats going on. I wanted to visit but am afraid of going to Chinatown after dark
@@TuxedoCat-ek4nf The buildings between Beretania and Hotel streets from River to Bethel had outages which affected hundreds of residents and business owners. Hawaiian Electric Company hasn't said publicly disclosed this.
Perhaps some discount on their electric bill
Where is the HECO CEO. We need answers. Redundancies should have been installed years ago. Third world utility
Where is the mayor, it's his job also, mayor blangardi and don't forget governor Green
My coworkers are losing their hours and the company is losing revenue. Why is the Honolulu power plant not brought back as it was decommissioned but not tore down because it’s supposed to be used for emergency purposes.
Monopolies with unchecked power become lazy, irresponsible, arrogant, and greedy!
Don’t worry HECO will ask PUC to raise rates again soon!
0:31 What was the cause of the fire?
Incompetency!
If this is a frequent occurrence I would purchase EcoFlow Delta Max........
This is why we need more funding for climate change AND company/business regulations!
What is dumping more money into climate change gonna do to prevent power outages?
Maybe move businesses to Waikiki. I'm sure nothing will happen to tourism.
Is it worse to have underground or on ground lines?? I know it is safe to have it underground but when something like this happens it’s hard to fix…. Stay safe HECO workers
I thought Puerto Rico was bad!
Going on 30+ hours with no power. Come on now.
Banana Republic
Thought they announced they would be black outs due to replacing equipment.
KHNO2- working for Hawaii
HECO- not
Get out the kerosene lamps, time for some card games, get out the hibachi and do some grilling, etc.
Welcome to the PLANTATION!😂🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
tweekers stealing live wires....
The rich condo opposite us never suffer from electricity outrage. Only the not rich ones have to suffer the electricity outrage as we are not rich enough to complaint nor have lawyers to do so.
DEMs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What?!
Funding for climate change action was removed under Trump.
You want to increase the deficit?! We will.
Until then, you get nothing.
🤔
😡 that's HECO for you❗️
Power was OUT several years ago, too.
Eating my popcorn playing video games. Watching this plight.😊
At least you don't have 95 degree's like we do in Michigan. 😩✌️💗🤙
I think they should call Elon Musk, I think he can Tesla power Downtown, believe me!
Only now HECO will make up grades! 👍 And pass the bill 💰💸💸 to the consumers 🤙🏼🤦
😂😂
