Let me know if you have any questions about this sharpener. Thanks for watching!
After watching your video I purchased this Vevor bit sharpener. This sharpener is a definite game changer! I have always hand ground drill bits, but at 3/4 of 100 years old can’t see those smaller bits anymore. I just built a surface grinder and when in need of a sharp perfect drill bit this bit sharpener produced a sharp perfect drill bit!! Perfect curls and perfect holes. Thanks taking the time to film this video!! Oh yeah, the Vevor sharpens bits at least 100 times better than any hand grinding for precision holes. Lol
I feel you on the lack of vision as I get older! 😉. I’m glad the review helped. I use mine all the time! Thanks for watching!
As per the instruction sheet, insert insert the collet into the collet chuck at a 45 degree angle UNDER THE CHUCK'S LIP that holds it in. Using the method in the video prevents the collet from seating fully when the two collet halves are screwed together. To remove, rock the collet away from the chuck lip and remove.
Yeah, I didn’t explain that well in the video but that’s what I do. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching, Byron!
I would take a guess that the U D dial moves something up or down. Possibly the diamond wheel to account for wear ?
Yeah I assumed so. I wish it told you in the instructions. 😕
Have you checked any you've sharpened with a drill gage? I am interested in how centered it sharpens . If your drill point is off center it will drill oversize. I sharpen drill by hand to center perfectly. I'm a engineer and tool maker so on size holes are important to me. This looks like a nice machine and if it centers points well I would be interested. It would save loads of time.
Hmm, I don’t have a drill gauge. Maybe I’ll have to get one and check. Thanks for watching.
It does pretty well, sometimes you get an off grind, but then you can re chuck it and grind it again.
How do you time the drill to make Shure you don't start past center
When you place the bit into the initial depth gauge, you push it in and turn it clockwise until it stops against the edge.
Looks like a well designed piece of equipment.
It works really well. Now I get SOO much more out of my drill bits. Thanks for watching
my bag of spent bits would love one of these lol.
Exactly! Thanks for watching
Wow! I didn't know that I might just need one!😆
It’s a great addition to any shop! Now when I screw up a drill bit I know I can just retouch it up. Thanks for watching
@@TyrellKnifeworks Today I was making some steel bolsters, and I broke two drill bits. It can be a pain in the you know where...
@@Varjagen1916 it’s never at a good time either. 😕
I am going to tell Brian you are putting extra holes in his hinge rather than building it! 😂
Good review.
Haha, that was from my first screwup. He sent me extras. 😜. Thanks for watching
What size range of bits can u sharpen?
It’ll do 3/32 to 1/2”. Thanks for watching.
Nice review of the product. Only issue I have is going to make me sound like one of those whiny safety people... I get every drill is different, don't know if yours is gear driven or belt, worn out, low torque any of that... Even then, could you put some sort of clamp in place or a work holding jig? Watching your sharpened bit test, I was expecting to see the bit grab and spin the object through your hand.
If I was drilling a knife or something I would certainly clamp it. For these thick blocks, it’s fine. Thanks for watching.
You have to time the bit in the collet so it starts on the edge
The splitting dile lowers and rises the splitting body for more or less aggressive grinding . You have to lose the screw from shipping.
Thanks for the tip!
At a cost up to $500.00 it should come with American sized collects and sharpen up to 3/4" drill bits like a Drill Doctor.
Others have commented that own both and say this one beats the Drill Doctor hands down in accuracy and ease of use. I've only owned this one so I can't tell you which is better. Thanks for watching.
I need a bit sharpener too....
This one is fool proof for sure (we’ll almost, this fool did screw up one part. 🤣). Thanks for watching
Good video, however not much use without seeing the job quality. On to another video, on this sharpener.
The job quality? You want to see the hole??
@@TyrellKnifeworks It's a drill grinder, so it would be good to see the grind quality. It's okay if you don't get it ☺️
A Dr Doctor is way easier and you get excellent results include back grinding the point. No collets needed. Just 2 (large/small) adjustable collets.
I was gonna say but the drill doctor is cheap flimsy plastique... But after looking at the price tag on this the drill doctor makes way more sense for most people😅
@@DracoOmnia Drill Doctor does have cheaper versions but the Professional version DD750x is rock solid and $150 retail but will do up to 3/4 in bits. I have the older prof version 750SP going on 10yrs of use with 0 problems.
The Drill doctor seems like a fine product. A little less weight than this one still but certainly cheaper. Thanks for watching
I think my old drill Dr will do as good if not better
The Drill Dr is a good machine as well.
DD is not even close, I have owned both.
This machine kills the DD, in time, effort, ease of setup, accuracy, split point accuracy, literally everything.
The DD works well though, but it certainly doesn't do as well as this machine.
Good review, nice tool, but from a cost standpoint for me it makes sense just to stock spare drills. I don't think I would use this enough to justify the expense, but your mileage may vary.
For me, it’s not just about the cost of bits. Though that’s a factor when you’re paying $5-$7 a bit for good ones, but rather that I always seem to need one late at night or something when I can’t get one and all work halts. This one-time cost prevents that. 👍

Nice! Thanks for watching.
In every video, when they say as you see it - you cant see nothing
I have no idea what your comment means
@@TyrellKnifeworks you showing how good the machine grind drillbits. But it is complete unfocused. Nothing to see.
Collet goes in the nut first! Dont explain wrong things.
It doesn’t matter, don’t be that guy.
@@TyrellKnifeworks lol if it doesnt matter noone would machine a lip on a collet chuck which accept collet.
Nice review, something I might consider. Others with more confidence in their grinding skills may try the freehand method shown by @KBrown6700 (former tool and die machinist). I would be much more confident with the dedicated bit sharpener.
Once you get down lower than 1/4” drills, free handing is pretty dubious. Thanks for watching.
