I love the recip saw for DIY stuff, I've also discovered it's great for dismantling metal things too - much better than my angle grinder funnily enough. I've not forgotten about the plan video! I'm working on some content about my workflow in general which'll be a concept-creation type story. It'll have a bit about generating ideas, bringing them to life in fusion and creating the plans :-)
Appreciate that mate. Think I got lucky really - I gained nearly 1000 subscribers from the last video! I couldn't believe it! Just trying different things out at the moment and still getting comfortable with the video workflow etc. Your builds are so creative and you're extremely relaxed on camera - I use that as inspiration to keep improving :-)
@shed_time They say, "Luck is when prepation meets opportunity. " ... it was a great video, well deserved 1000 subs from it 👏👏... lets keep pushing Adam🫡, maybe one day we can get a piece of the RUclips pie 🥧 💷
You inspired this one mate! Don't know if this is what you had in mind but I enjoyed making it anyway! I do say thanks towards the end of the video but in the middle of my talk track I couldn't recall your name, so if you get to that bit know that I'm saying thanks to you!
Thank you my friend! Funny you should say that...I've just 3D printed the first prototype for my new dust collection system...it needs a few tweaks here and there but there is a video incoming on the process.
Hi there. I'm looking out for a straight edge to allow me to run my circular saw against. I don't think I need to buy one with clamps already attached to the straight edge as I have a number of separate clamps that will do the job. The straight edge I do have is not very deep, so the circular saw could climb on to the straight edge if I am not careful. Could you tell me which make or brand you showed here please as it looks ideal? Cheers 👍
Hi Antony, thanks for watching! This is the one I've got is from Rutlands here : bit.ly/3XhJaR6 but it's showing as out of stock at the moment. I also looked at this one from Axminster Tools bit.ly/3Mm2iXK and this from Bench Dogs bit.ly/3WWBTVv. I can't tell where you are based but these are all UK companies btw. One thing to be aware of if you have a sidewinder circular saw is the clamp clearance - mine does hit the clamps when I'm using the straight edge so I have to sort of shimmy it over the clamp to get the cut started. The straight edge is fine for now but I will eventually bite the bullet and build one of these: ruclips.net/video/enCwYD7qR7k/видео.htmlsi=0SB4nKe3n48QSINu or maybe buy an adapter like this milescraft one ruclips.net/video/IL3OZl_jp48/видео.htmlsi=ydjqW3nUwKvl8iMV. Hope this helps!
@@shed_time Wow, thanks for going to all of this effort, I really appreciate it. I'm in the UK so I should be able to go from the links you sent me. I have tried using clamps but as you say, these can get in the way. I've got some good ideas now so that's really good. I'm a very amateur DIYer, so I won't be building my own straight edge (yet). Cheers again, top stuff!
i disagree with your advice to pick cordless tools (exception of screwdrivers), you work in a small woodshop so you have access to power everywhere and we have no idea how battery technology will evolve, it's a risk. Buying battery tools only make sense if you work outside for a customer.
Hi Tony, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I kind of agree about your risk point, I'd be mightily put out if Dewalt suddenly changed their battery tech and made mine obsolete! But that said, if we're always waiting for next iteration would we buy any sort of tech at all? Moore's law and all that...For me, the cords on tools I need to move about like my circular saw for example, are just annoying and battery powered tools offer a sense of freedom.
Great video! The recip saw seems like an excellent purchase. I'm keen to see an upcoming video (hopefully) on how you create woodworking plans.

Congratulations on 1k subscribers!!...just a minute ago. Our channels were in the 400's, I need to catch up

Yes mate! You delivered on the video! Just started watching it but I know it's going to be a good one, appreciate the advice in advance!

Just saw! 🙌 Awesome video, thanks for the advice, look forward to next one👌
Great video buddy. A bit niche, but could we please have a video on making a dust collection adaptor including 3D printer time lapse?

Nice drill /impact driver holder .
Thanks John!

Hi @ostry599! I don't have any experience with he Ryobi so I'm not sure - they look very similar though!
