It's holding up really well and I'm glad I made this - drawers can be a bit tight to begin with so I'd recommend making them a little smaller width wise so they don't catch the sides, although I used some machine wax on mine and they run smoothly. Ideas for future builds: table saw sled, custom made table saw push sticks/push shoes, simple router table, simple household furniture piece, wooden helmet, replicas of George Washington’s teeth, a wooden robot dog- the possibilities are endless!

I really like your workflow Adam. A really enjoyable watch and something I may have to try. I’d probably create a template and then use the router I’m going to house in the cabinet to cut the channels 🙂from another woodworker in his shed (garage) somewhere in the English countryside

I'm going to be 321st subscriber. Keep on! Nice work. I would rather screw a nylon sleeve instead of gluing dowel, just in case You'd like to disassemble the drawer, and nylon sleeves slide better.
Congrats on being number 321 @patmos72 - seeing the subscriber count go up is overwhelming for me so I'm grateful! I didn't even know nylon sleeves were a thing so I'm going to google that and find out more - I agree the dowel is a permanent leap of faith with this build! thanks for the idea :-)

Appreciate that @andrewmartin9728! What do you think of the router? I like it but I find the twist height adjustment frustrating sometimes as I keep moving it whilst in use...probably user error more than anything.

nicely made , a few tips put some bee/candlevwax on the runnergroove , it will run smoother. tip 2 for the routers bits write down width and depth/size of them at the holes saves times when choosing the one you want , trust me i know 😁
I've just put some wax on the drawers and they're running smoothly - thanks for the tip! Good suggestion on the labelling of my bits too, I need to get on that.

Maybe make a shelf insert for the top shelf to stop your router from falling off?

Ha, yes there is a certain irony in the fact I didn't use my router to make this - I should have used it for the slots at least but bottled it! Something to stop the router falling off is a good idea :-)
What a great idea. Those drawers are superb! What kind of plywood are you using there?
Thanks @chrisb2443, appreciate that! I'd reduce the width of the drawers by a few mil next time as they do catch occasionally - I've put some wax on them for now which seems to have solved the problem though. The plywood is 18mm structural hardwood ply, not the posh stuff - this cost around £50 for a 2440mm x 1220mm.

Hi @waynebrooks9445. Thanks for the video idea - I'll make some content on this for sure. I use a combination of Fusion 360 and Adobe Indesign. I use the free version of Fusion 360 to model all my projects and I create the drawings with that too. I then export the drawings into Adobe Indesign to create the plans as a pdf for people to download if they want to. It's a little clunky to be honest (lots of copy and pasting) and the plans take a while to produce but it's quite fun - I pop my headphones on and away I go.
Also I’ve got some serious shed envy. Can we have a tour please?

Thanks @bradjones5266, glad you liked the video! I've got a video coming soon on my design process actually as a few people have asked me about that. I use the free version of Fusion 360 to model the designs, so I can see how it will go together and figure out the best way to build it. I create the drawings in Fusion too but then I export them into Adobe InDesign to create the free plans. It's a little clunky to be honest, I wish I could do it all in Fusion but it's working well enough for now. Hope this helps!

My only concern here is that you're putting that very short dowel, a very small distance into end grain 18mm ply. On a dry fit, or empty use such as this, it should be fine. Over time, the weight of the accessories drawer is going to start to pull apart that 18mm ply. My suggestions, longer dowel for more support, or even a second higher groove with another dowel. Lovely idea. Cheers.
Yeah, it is quite short and I think there is a risk there. Also, I wish I'd made the drawer boxes slightly narrower as they occasionally catch on the sides as you might have seen in the video.
Some wax might make them run smoother.
@@shed_time also if you get some racking of the drawer as you push then it seems like the rear vertical corners of the drawer boxes would jam into the walls of the cabinet. You might mitigate it by rounding off those rear, outside, vertical corners of the drawer boxes. Or if you built alignment runners into the shelf that the drawer rides on and on base of drawer, then that might fix alignment.
@YTubeSDD This is a good idea but they couldn't run the full length of the drawer as it would affect the ability of the drawer to drop down. So 3/4 of the length of the drawer flush to the back of the cabinet.
Level of editing is outrageous🙌🏽 keep it up!
