This is one of my favorite ways of moving to the front backhand corner allowing the perfect final stride length and position for 100% control of body and shot.
This is really interesting. I find myself occasionally doing a small hop exactly like what you’re describing, in the front corners. I’ve always thought I shouldn’t be doing it though, because I’ve never seen any coach talking about it! Now I know it’s something I can work with, thanks!
It is amazing, such a fast action to pick up nearly one meter and very energy efficient keeping your body stable in hitting position just before final step hit motion, so much going for it so logically it is the best movement to do.
I like how you think outside of the box . The loop swing has been great. I do remember a junior female decades ago do a little hop on the crt. Which stood out for me at the time. The only concern i have is a ankle twist when landing. Myself i have trouble engaging the brain quickly to cordinate some movements. Has i was to the squash owner the othe day. I simply can't find a way to move around the crt effectionly enough. To many ways to think of moving. I love your videos and i will certainly give this way ago.
Train it a little and you will find it is perfect if your feet are out of sync for your last step to land on your preferred foot it will instantly correct your footwork. Thanks for the feedback, I am glad you get value from the many videos I have uploaded.
This is in Gympie Queensland, 4 courts and a wonderful club that is so popular they may need to expand in the near future. Full of wonderful people, I highly recommend you drop in if near by to enjoy the atmosphere of a thriving club.
Take a close look and you will see it all the time in PSA especially in the men's, often before the big power winners but most people are fixated no the swing and the ball to see the feet that are very fast.
If you think there is only one way to move for every shot you are way off the mark, just like there are different ways to swing for different outcomes. This is dynamic and one of my favorite ways of movement to the front backhand.
@@ab3zradsjkhdsagwqiu when I feel I am going to be a fraction late to the ball in a front corner is EXACTLY the situation where I’ve used a hop. So see if it might help you too. I’ve only ever used it occasionally and only in the front.

This looks cool, have to try
It will change what you think is possible regarding court movement in a fantastic way.

That only works in videos, not in a match.

Yeah I've seen it plenty in matches too
April Fools? 😅

I’m so late to the ball Id never have time for a hop :(
@@ab3zradsjkhdsagwqiu Give it a shot and you will be amazed you seem to get faster as it is such a fast movement.
