I had a Monterrey Club - Ryder Cup polo that got taken down, as well lol
It’s a shame too. It was purple with a nice floral collar.
A lesson was learned.
@@JSensei94 Ya that sucks.
@@TaylorExchange eh. Just something to note for the future.
Btw, have you ever thought about or done eBay store reviews?
Maybe it's the patch not the shirt..if it was printed or embroidered but the patch might be dodgy?.
@@BusyBeeCompany Probably so.
@TaylorExchange or at least not a licensed item but a patch on a shirt.
I am pretty sure I have a Ryder Cup shirt listed, how do I know if I am in jeopardy of VERO?
@@AndrewBarraclough Idk
I just checked, over 400 sold with Ryder cup on them..this is a double standard.
@@BusyBeeCompany Very much so.
I have been selling on Ebay since 1999. This can happen on listings listed for a long time. They have BOTS that search. They do make mistakes.
@@biddyde123 🤔
Great heads up!! Thanks

Had the same one a few months ago had mine listed at least a year
Ah ya
F'ing Ebay - They could add an algorithm that checks for Vero brands and keywords BEFORE the listing goes live, notifying the seller upon posting that "this item cannot go live, because..." Amazon doesn't do it either. Facebook, of all companies, is the one place that does at least a little verification before taking listings live. That we have to start being fearful of Veros just makes this whole process that much more frustrating.

I recently had two "counterfeit" items removed from listings: both were generic t-shirts with a Volkswagen camper in the art work.
Ebay said that their A1 bot had detected the "counterfeit" items. No idea what they were talking about, but looks like that action did not
affect my store. It's hard to play by the rules when you aren't told what the rules are.
Dang AI.
6:02 Lots to weigh in on with this topic. We kept getting a new w/ tags Levi’s VERO’d & taken down every time we ended men’s jeans category & did the “sell similar”. Why?? Because Levi’s doesn’t allow resellers to sell newest tag items outside of the USA specifically Europe that’s what the email said. So I finally just removed it and we’re still trying to sell it on our other platform, Poshmark? It’s a sz 50 waist so there you go.
Could list the New items as used and maybe the buy just sees the photos and pays a higher price, but Poshmark should work too.
@@TaylorExchange Dude. It’s actually interesting that you mention that tactic, because at first like I said, we just pulled it down and listed it only on Poshmark but then my wife basically suggested the work-around you suggested - but we entered it in as “new without tags”, and that’s been working (to keep it up, hasn’t helped sell the damn things tho!) I went and looked it up and it is currently an active listing in our eBay store.. dk blue 559’s sz 48 waist.. “big-boy” pants!
I’ve sold Ryder Cup stuff before. That’s crazy
Tell me about, times are changing.
Good to know to avoid ryder cup
Ya, they are on a few golf shirts.
I’m honestly thinking of switching selling platforms or at least cross listing.
Just the time and cost involved to consider
i just got a vero last week for listing a porsche sweatshirt🤷🏼♂️
Hmm I wonder what other cars might be on the list.
I'm never doing sell similar anymore.... that's what I got from this video. You can be giving yourself a Vero
@@No1sProfit That would be unwise.
This video is about the rise in Vero’s across eBay. I’ve heard many accounts.
@@TaylorExchange yes I'm aware of the content of the video. You stated you didn't know why it was taken down. I'm just saying for me I'm not going to sell similar from other ppl. Because you don't know if you're selling similar on a Vero (when you can just list yourself).
Anyways great video over all!
@@TaylorExchange yes I got a reject to change feedback. The guy had zero was a joke liked it but saud neutral feedback okay omg ! Sometimes as sellers we can’t win. Yes zeros just put up as an original as you can sure do frustrating ! Also postage defects that’s out of our contra I send with twenty four hours I got one grrr. I never ring eBay as it brings more problems ahh . We can t do much just keep selling don’t worry sell on other platforms too for sure if u can .
It’s because whoever owns rider cup came knocking to eBay recently and asking to take it down
Ya it’s wild
I got Vero too last 2 days ago bec. The misspelled from my A1 auto-generated description... from nike too.
Oh no, from Nike? Was it new.
My Vero was from Ryder Cup people.
@@TaylorExchange it was long sleeves zip up sweater the misspelled was sleek instead of long sleeves.
It actually pre own
Good to know, thanks for sharing man!

I got two vero this year a FedEx Hat & Chevrolet Bowtie Hat so I pulled & gave both hats to one of my buddies so I dont accidentally relist, problem solved.
Chevy bowtie? Jesus
All the more reason to be listing on multiple platforms. Anything that we know or think might be a knock off we just don’t put it on eBay but Poshmark is the wild west and we put in the description that we don’t think it’s real or we’re pretty sure that it’s a knock off and price it accordingly and everything sells.
I just can't stand some of the other platforms.
@@TaylorExchange Dude, I hear ya loud-n-clear!! Ive said in the past to my wife I wanted to just shut down Posh. But that was also before I got seriously involved in running more aspects of the business. We have sales there that don’t even bat and I on eBay but also vice versa. Posh definitely is more female oriented but remember how many times, how normal it is to see gals, shopping in our section of the thrift store for themselves, and/or significant others. That doesn’t cut both ways for sure except for us if we’re sourcing women’s clothes to resell. There’s a ton of subtle discussion topics regarding crosslisting, well beyond the scope of my comment here. I’ve had to reconcile the fact that each of the platforms (the few that I’m familiar with, anyway) are seriously flawed in many ways - but each also has its superior attributes. I just wish Elon Musk would just buy them all up and make one perfect platform, Lol!! 😂
Ryder Cup hit me too. A preowned Footjoy polo shirt with Ryder Cup embroidery. They said my shirt was counterfeit but I know it isn't but I am not going to fight it.
Hmm, they must be going after everyone!
Crap, I have one up. Do I take the whole thing down or just delete Ryder Cup out of the listing?
Ryder cup is an organization. Theyre the ones that initiated the vero. Im surprised you didnt know about it because its mentioned in yt videos now and then. I stay away from patches with auto stuff. Also risky
I see, I usually don’t put it in the title but didn’t really think much of it and the eBay hammer came down.
@TaylorExchange I'm not positive but I don't think ebay initiates these. They're the hammer but don't give the orders.
Great video Sean. It's ok that you talk to statues...no judgement here...lol
😂
I would keep those kind of words out of a title simply because I don’t think there are any buyers or so very few buyers out there that are using Ryder Cup for these other terms in their search.
Tough to say
I sold a new Era Ryder cup hat that I bought from Ross. Now I don’t want to put my Nike Ryder cup t shirt that I have saved on a draft!!
Ya might want to take caution with that.
It's not really 3 strikes Veros it's more of how you get the Vero I've had a few the typical ones 3M for using the word Velcro, Gerber for using the word onesie, etc. My most recent one was an Amazon Vest, has great sell thru but if you don't move it within a 3 day span it gets flagged, I've sold them before but the last one i listed got Vero'd and removed after 3 days. Most of the time they just say hey you can't list that item in a little inbox message and say it doesn't affect my account, the way around it I've seen for it is since they're banning listing of almost any brand name uniform nowdays is put them under the Halloween costume category. But mostly as long as you're not in the words of Charlie Murphy " Habitual Line-Stepper" in the Veros they're not gonna ban you.
Oh ok, sounds like you got it dialed in on toeing the Vero line haha.
It’s not eBay. It’s the rights owner. eBay is under legal obligation to take the item down. There are companies who do the removals for brands. Redpoints is one. Understand they get paid per item removed.
Next time list the item as "J-Ryder-Cup" ala J-Ride,...the censors won't pick it up 😆
@@NashTV8 Gross
i have gotten 3 veros and am still selling so I think you can get more then 3
Dang, ya they are cranking them up but as quickly as they come eBay can shit the money faucet just as quick!
I had a shirt in my store for a year,....and then I ended-and-sold-similar that shirt, and the shirt was immediately Vero'd. The Brand went after me,...but apparently they were searching by "newly listed". They lied and said it was bootleg,...it was real.
Jeeze, ya selling similar could’ve been what happened on mine. Wild times.
Why wont eBay just publish a list of high risk brands or brands that they know they’re gonna give us a strike for so that we can avoid it. People aren’t doing it to be underhanded or sneaky by and large people are just selling used items that other people want to buy it’s not with nefarious intentions, so eBay should meet us in the middle with the list.
That would make sense.
Does EBay give you a clean slate every year in regard to Vero strikes? I’ve gotten 2 so far but I also had a listing removed for policy violation which would have made 3 strikes in the last 2-1/2 years…so i am still wondering yet thankful they didn’t suspend me. -Lisa
Ah idk, this is my first Vero!
Sell it in your brick n mortar
@@No1sProfit I don’t have a brick n mortar.
It’s not on the vero list. I would fight it since it’s not.
Hmm, I may look into that list.
@@TaylorExchange unless they go under a different name, it’s not listed.
@@TaylorExchangedoesn't have to be on the list to get a vero.
Ebay doesn't initiate a VERO violation. They are not changing or cracking down. The owners of the intellectual property initiate the take down request they notify ebay they own the property and want the listing taken down. The Vero list is just a list of companies known to be aggressive with VERO take down requests. Any company that has made a product can request a take down so the not being on the VERO list doesn't really mean anything. Often the request comes from a third party hired by the rights owner these third parties are usually a law firm and some of them are very aggressive about issuing the take down orders to Ebay, its how they get paid. If the letter you got from the rights owner is claiming false reasons for the take down follow the directions from Ebay and in the letter on how to respond and the Vero May be reversed. I would use the search function on the Ebay listing page and look for listings with words in your titles that are known to catch the attention of these 3rd parties issuing Vero requests to ebay.
Daily refinement was a whole separate issue he couldn’t produce receipts for thousands of Jordans he was selling
True, I was just making the point that eBay like Amazon will not favor a reseller no matter the money they make off of them.
Daily was selling MILLIONS in shoes
You are missing the point. It’s the legal issues. That why they took the item down. That’s why they removed daily.
Your store doesn’t generate enough money to support a legal battle over a item accept and move on
So let me get this straight. You got a VERO strike and you're not going to check to make sure the rest of your items are not on the VERO list because it's too hard? Running a eBay business is hard and this is part of running a business. Making sure your only selling things that are aloud is the sellers responsibility not eBays. It actually not that hard. The is a VERO list is on eBay and you can use the search function in your active listing page to search the listing. VERO is the top thing accounts get suspended for. You said it already. it doesn't matter how big your store is, they'll suspend you no matter what because the will get sued by the owners if they don't. I think the clothing category has the most VEROs so it's tough but is part of the game of listing clothing items.
Yes, you are correct.
I do not want to bother checking the rest of the store.
There's no point in looking at the list because a lot of the brands who send veros aren't even on the list. And a lot of the brands on the list will never take your (authentic) items down.
Many years ago I had Hard Rock VERO a shirt from a foreign concert they sponsored. They were full of crap about it being counterfeit, but it's just not worth fighting unless you've set up a really bulletproof VERO trap for them to fall into, then sue their asses off for fraud or defamation.
Also had a policy violation on some athletic event medals from Cuba decades before the embargo. In that case, it was eBay themselves not being willing to follow the law, just giving violations to every item related to Cuba, even if it was a medal won by an American almost a century ago in Cuba. Not worth fighting eBay themselves, because it's probably at their discretion rather than a false VERO claim by a third party, which is simply illegal.
That's wild
