A small part of the event I love is the inclusion of Lessig as another Lawrence clan member. Its nice that Hoyo didn't take the easy road and make Eula "the only Lawrence who broke from their family's dogma and tradition" since she's playable. He's very similar to how early Eula was towards others. They both may have broken away, but they still conduct themselves and subconsciously act how they were taught to, since its very hard to truly unlearn those lessons taught throughout your life.
It also reminds me of the fact that the people of Monstadt are not helping themselves much by continuing their hatred and ostracising of those clans, since it just leads to a separation. Just look at how players immediately were sus of Eula due to her attitude, some of her voicelines and connection to the aristocracy and assumed she was a racist and just tricking people. Its the same with Monstadtians, who distrust and hurl abuse at them all, which just encourages their dogmatic beliefs and force them to surround themselves only with their other family who WON'T harass them, which then means no progress can be made. Its only by the actions of Eula and Lessig, who decide to try to brave the abuse that things can start getting better. Not excusing the actual dogmatic beliefs or faulting the general people for being distrustful, but still.
Between Windume and this event, we really get to see Collei develop confidence. And then we see the results of that in Cyno's second story quest. She's so different than she was in 3.0. It's such good character development, I love it so much.
My one gripe is that IT'S NOT PERMANENT. It's almost criminal that new players miss all this.

It just occurred to me, Genshin never had a character named Bronya. Given the etymology there will be one in Szehnaya in 1 year.

0:25 If you didn't know (and you probably couldn't know it, this info is completely lost in translation) but Arlecchino and Scaramouche describe Tsaritsa's love towards her Harbingers as "parental love". This matches with Tartaglia’s words that in Snezhnaya family comes first. Even Fatui's orphanage pretends to be a big "family." Playable characters in Genshin can't have a romantic love story in the center of their character (RIP Signora), but "love" isn't limited to romantic love only. We already have a dead friend (nameless bard and Ei's friends), a dead sibling (Makoto and Clervie?), reincarnation (Rukkhadevata/Kusanali), a dead "parent" (Egeria), a dead nation (no need to introduce) and a dead lover (Rostam and maybe? Guizhong). The only unused trop I see is dead child. At least for now, we'll see what Natlan gives us. There is a theory about tarot cards, the names of hypostases and archons. Cryo hypostasis corresponds to the "Empress" card (Tsaritsa is literally a russian word for "empress"). This card signifies maternal energy and the creation of new ideas. TL;DR I think that it's gonna be like in Frozen: familial love is the answer, not a romantic one. After all, family is what Traveler is looking for

A correction: Russian already has a word for empress (imperatritsa), so no, "empress" is not the exact equivalent :D Do you have a source for the Hypostases and Tarot connections? Sounds interesting.

Наверное мне стоило сказать, что один титул становится практически синонимичен другому, когда речь заходит конкретно о Российской империи или русском сеттинге. 🤔 А в остальном, да, это не совсем одинаковые понятия.
@@chester9787 Rukhadevata and Nahida are not reincarnations, they are mother and daughter, when a stick is torn off a tree and planted in the ground and a second tree grows, this is not reincarnation, this is reproduction. There is no parental connection between the Oceanids and Egeria, the Oceanids predate Egeria by many years. And as another person has already said, Tsaritsa is not an Empress, Tsaritsa (Царица) is a Queen, Empress is an Imperatritsa (Императрица)
The Egeria-Focalors call patches ahead was great to see unravel. I'm fully on board Arnold's theories that the Pyro archons' relationship will be student and master and the Cryo archons' one will be as lovers

Unless I missed something, somehow Focalors and Egeria are just not blood-related or romantically involved at all. Like Focalors got picked from a pool after Egeria said adios and felt so annoyed that now she had to deal with the mess Egeria left behind.
oceanids originated from egeria tears based on a book. What the book actually says is 1 oceanid came from egeria and that oceanid after understanding what life is, also cried, and that became another oceanid. And then the oceanids just... gather understanding, and then go to egeria or oceanid elders and just pop out another oceanid I guess, and then we end up with fountaine.
No idea how far down or close focalors is to egeria so...

@@Evitzeoshowerthoughts Doesn't the book also say that this is just folklore, and the Oceanids predate Egeria by MANY years. So I doubt that Egeria could have created the Oceanids when the Oceanids existed before her.

And based on the wiki because I can't find the same book (and apparently I'm just talking about a random interactive thing, not an actual book.)
A guy that's I'm guessing a conscious Oceanid was really mad that people assume this tale was a lie. So there's definitely something backing it up
@@Evitzeoshowerthoughts Not always. I believe scientific papers more reliable than the words of some random religious Oceanid.
And as we have seen, when the Oceanids cry, they do not reproduce, and as we know from bestiary, Oceanids appear thanks to clean water, they can appear wherever there is clean water, and since the water in the Fountain was clean enough thanks to the primordial sea, they appeared there, but after Elinas died in this water and poisoned this, they can no longer be born naturally from this water. As we can see, this folklore does not correspond to reality, so there is a question about the authenticity of this folklore.

Apart from Harry Potter, this could also be a reference to the "Doctor Who" TV show ("It's bigger on the inside"). im guessing the only reason for bronya to appear as the archon is because shes an important character, even though i barely know anything about honkai impact, we will just have to wait and see.
I really loved the story and the lore pieces hidden in it, cant wait to see what we get this year.

Rukkhadevata created Nahida, they both existed at the same time at one point, so technically i wouldn't call it a reincarnation. if anything, since they were born from the same tree (and Nahida seems to be an identical clone of her) they would be more like sisters in a way
Nahida is her "reincarnation" in the new samsara because the both fulfill the same role, not literally

I think in one of Childe’s beta voice lines from a long time ago, or a character profile entry, he mentioned the Cryo Archon Bronya, by name, so it’ll be interesting to see if Hoyo goes through with her being the current Cryo Archon, or if that was just a funny placeholder easteregg.

Calling it before Friday gives us any possible Natlan hints: Murata is the previous Pyro Archon, and the current one is a 🅱️iana 🅱️aslana expy in some way. Venti talked about Murata, yes, but it was in Venessa's times, and wasn't it said that Venti and Zhongli are the only old-timers left? And it would also fit the teacher-student connection.
0:28 If you are going so far as assuming Bronya as the current cryo archon and Seele lookalike to be the previous. Why not make it like this:-
Previous cryo archon - Cocolia
Current Cryo archon - Bronya
And seele will be the reason why bronya became love-less. Aka seele got caught in the disaster thus breaking Bronya apart and now she is either dead or in a comatose state and as the Cryo archon is collecting gnosis(i mean yes arnold at the time of recording did not know this but i m adding this part) which are supposed to be parts of a dead descender. Maybe she is also trying to create a powerful body to bring Seele back to life.
I'll do you one crack theory better. everyone is expecting Himeko to be the pyro archon in Natlan. . . but what if Himeko is the Cryo archon and Genshin's equivalent of Welt is the one who died to parallel Welt losing the Himeko of his universe? Also i thought of this because the Cryo Archon wants to either destroy or control Celestia and HSR Himeko ULT talks about humanity having this desire to control the skies.
I initially thought Furina’s design was based off Seele, but now I think she was a bit more based off Sin Mal, rather than her. With how all the Archons have been designed after Honkai characters, I can definitely see the Pyro and Cryo Archons being based off Himeko and Bronya.
Maybe The Cryo Archon will have a character influence her a lot in her story, and that could be a true Seele character?
