The Mosaic phosphate company owns most of the land surrounding this area and It has heavily influenced the area, Mosaic’s largest facility “New Wales” is located near the area, and we we take a look at that as well. There is much ahead.

My latest Florida Roadside Attractions video! ruclips.net/video/UTEKlPrZ_og/видео.html
I meant 20th century... you’ll see :) thanks for watching guys. I appreciate all of you.
NE on that railroad sign means North East , not Nay , LOL !!!
Robert Riaski I may or may not have pronounced it that way intentionally. I’ll leave it a mystery
So are you a clone of Adam, or is he a clone of you? Kind of bizarre if I say so... but I love both of your road videos.
Dude you rock
I used to drive Big Rig back in the 1990's all through Florda ...I miss driving past all that stuff on the backroads
Yes, it would be nice to see inside the old school sometime. You and the pumpkin was hilarious and beagles are great dogs.
The music was great for this video and love the stranger things shirt. I can't wait to see the newest season.
If you are interested there is a phosphate museum in Mulberry with animal bones that they have found in the phosphate mines. Some of these bones date back millions of years. They have mammoth bones for one and others. Unique to see what roamed in central Florida way before any of us.
Not really worth the time though. Been there...
A lot of people still refer to the area as “The Bone Valley”
When they opened the Mulberry Phosphate Museum in the mid-Eighties, they bought the collection of the Bone Valley Fossil Museum which was in Bradley Junction and some of the exhibits at the fossil museum came from the old Bone Valley Exposition which operated from 1960 to the early Seventies (just east of Bartow where the Polk Sheriffs Charities Scholarship House is now). Collecting sharks teeth, skate teethand whatever other fossils in the front of the Bone Valley Fossil Museum was a favorite Sunday afternoon activity in the Seventies.
Love exploring old service stations. Across this country..
That's kind of scary how much property Mosaic has swallowed up. Makes me wonder what country owns Mosaic.
Thanks, Jay!
Dude you’re not kidding - they own most of the port of Tampa too lol
Easy, China, they own our balls.
Honestly mosaic is good for the community. If it wasn’t for mosaic there wouldn’t be any jobs or it would all be developed.
Might be worth some research but it's probably china
My mother currently lives in Bradley Junction. We're from the little ex mining community just up the road called, Pierce, aka Rolling Hills.
That "giant mountain" is a gypsum stack. It's basically a mountain of waste byproduct of phosphate production.
So many abandoned places in Florida, awesome to see it with you :-)
Thanks Oliver
old road side florida, nothing like it, i pass these kind of old structures and wonder myself, thanks for taking us along, and i ,Myself am i big "QUANTUM LEAPER"!
Thanks for showing Plant City! I have a friend from high school that moved there from N.J. & have never been there. Thanks Jay!!
Great work my friend. Central Florida Heartland is my passion. Lived all over but this will always be home to me. I came back home to try and help restore these old places. Fantasic Content!
I always enjoy your videos bro whenever I can catch them
Same to you buddy thank you
I love you so much!!! I grew up here!!!
You ferret out the coolest places to visit TJ! The embedded bottlecaps look like stars in the sky. 🤩 The old Plant City high school reminds me of my grade school back in Indiana. Entertaining video as always. I enjoyed it! Be well and stay safe! ~ Kristine
very well done, tyvm, looking forward to more
I'm new to this channel. Im sorry i haven't found you sooner. Tampa Jay rocks!
Got me on the thumbnail. I always stop at that old station on my drives, good stuff man
Thanks so much glad you found the video
Thanks for another great video 👍 and I hope all is well.
Thankyou soooooo much love these roadside attractions ones 🤔eh no actually I'm lying 🤭if its a Tampa Jay video I love it 💥💯👍
TJ, I'm no stranger to the phosphate industry. My father worked for a Agrico South Pierce Chemical Works long before Mosaic bought them out when I was 19 years old I worked for an Industrial Supply Company as a delivery driver. I've been to all those phosphate mines and chemical plants fertilizer and all. Some of those facilities are massive New Wales is one of the largest. I'm so glad you took time to share that with everyone.
Thanks Mike I’m glad you enjoyed it man.. very cool you and your Dad worked in the industry very fascinating to me. I appreciate you sharing that with me. I bet it was some hard work out there too. I’m intrigued by what goes on out there
Love it when you show us these cool videos of things off the beaten path. A long, long time ago (like late '70s) I went on a field trip in middle school to one of the large phosphate plants off of 41 near Apollo Beach. That New wales facility definitely dwarfs any of the processing plants in Hillsborough. Interesting and informative, thanks for posting this!
This is an area I lived in for 20 years and went thru here going to Lakeland, lived in Ft. Green, enjoyed this, thnx.
Suzanne Dupree Thank you Suzanne. I’m glad you caught the video. I enjoyed exploring your old stomping grounds and I look forward to checking out Ft. Green someday.
It's that part of the year where even a town with nothing going on can be interesting and spooky
So true Thanks for watching mike
LOL! Especially in Polk County... always keep an eye out.
That gas station was run by a nice family, 2nd building was originally a 7Eleven. Families moved there after they moved then from Brewster. That store sales everything. Post office and fire department. They call that up town.
Yes would like that please 👍
I loved this one! And youre so funny jay lol
Cool video Jay, that gets me upset also when people just throw trash in random places. Thanks for showing us all of these forgotten places, keep up the great work and stay safe my friend.
This is my kinda vid - road trips/getting out into the country/small towns totally rocks! also hate dumping of garbage! Yes - would like to see the museum! a great trip - thanks man!
Thank you !
Good job real enjoyable
These get better and better Mr. Jay!
Dani.702 thank you Dani these are so much fun to make
I live in Bradley Jct. Thanks for recognizing we exist. The old Gulf station is privately owned and home to some legendary partying!😂
You’re so welcome I enjoyed my time there
.
party station! Alright!
Love this
Seeing inside that school would be awesome. Great video!
I’m gonna try to get back there soon
It use to be IMC a long time ago and most of “our” dads made a living at the mines in the 70s and 80s before the sinkholes closed them down!…It’s neat to see all this historical stuff.Mulberry museum is really neat too!
Plant City museum please. Totally dig these Lost Florida, Abandoned, etc. kind of things.
Thanks man I’ll try to get back there sometime
Fertilizer and animal feed plant? Sounds a little soylent green to me.
This is awesome. I adore the ending ❤️
SRQTUBIE MOMMA thank you so much
love these rural road trips !!! thanks TJ !
Thanks buddy
Jay, I go to Mosaic in New Wales almost weekly. I pick up a product called monocalcium phosphate that is put into poultry feed. From what I’ve been told, since most poultry we consume is in a shed, they don’t walk around much. They just sit and eat. That causes them to have very brittle bones. The BIOFOS 21% (that’s what we call it for short) strengthens their bones.
The plant isn’t spooky at all. However, it has a pungent odor, almost ammonia like. Takes your breath away. They own a lot more then you realize. The current location has enough phosphate for the next 80 years allegedly.
Cool old buildings. I didn’t like seeing all those old tires strewn around 🤨 thanks for the tour and always turn on your pumpkin alarm 😂
Ha! I only live 20 mins away from there, I’m thinking about exploring when the weather gets cooler.
Another great vlog, very informative & interesting.
I’ve lived in Polk County my whole life and never heard of this… new place to explore now 😏
I sometimes feel a little depressed when I see these abandoned towns . I love the efficiency of the interstate. But the unintended consequence was the slow death of many rural towns. In other cases these towns were built around one industry or company. When the company left. The towns just died. When one company owns everything, it hardly ever ends well.
Love your videos! The railroad tracks, they didn't move the track, they remove 20' of track, take out the old ties, and just leave them on the side of the track, then button it up with new rail track (the steel).
Thanks for this, seen other videos from you. One day we will get out on the road again and all these help with the direction. Love to explore. Chears!
Thank you Mike!
Awesome to see a fellow explorer and abandoned seeker especially here in Florida as well! Cheers you got a new subscriber! Loved the video!
Awesome Jay! That plant does look kind of creepy. lol
Thanks for the tour
Another great video. Your story telling and filming is excellent. Keep the videos coming, TJ. I posted a new video yesterday.
Yeah explore PCHS! It’s beautiful.
Love the road trips! I can’t believe how many buildings are left abandoned! Like your little witch!! Happy Halloween!
I wanted to add that you are hilarious Jay 😂 and stay safe my friend.
Thanks Matt
Really been enjoying your channel! Moving to Tampa at the end of the year and watching a lot of your videos to get a lay of the land. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much. I’m happy to hear that. I think you’re really going to enjoy it here
Yes would like to see the inside of the old school. I hunted the railroad tracks here in ohio when I was a kid. Or just walking the tracks. Now they have no trespassing signs. Enjoyed the video. Thanks Mr Jay
Those main railroad tracks by the store was literally the divider between the black side of town in the white side, As bad as it sounds they also had separate parks
This is what I enjoy watching the most.....
Thank you Scott these are some good fun to make
Another great video Jay. 🙂👍
Thanks buddy appreciate you
I really enjoy watching your videos and I do hope that you travel down to Sarasota Florida again and check out the Ringling museum and mansion and it’s history would be amazing I think there’s not a lot of stories movies or clips , I would like to see more about the Ringling history! And the Sarasota old cigar factory behind The historical DeMarcay Hotel down main street where Marina jacks is located!
Hello Mia.. Thank you so much I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the videos I cannot wait to return to the Sarasota area would really love to see that museum. I’ve been dying to get back there, love that area!!
We like museums definitely go back
Thank you I’m gonna try to get back there soon
Might be moving down to spring hill from Ohio in a year or so (when things are hopefully somewhat normal) loving the videos man. If I do end up moving down I plan on going to lots of the places you do to check em out in person!
It would be cool to see inside the school for sure. Great episode!👍🏻
Thank you !
my grandma and mom are from here but moved to sanford when she was little
and my grandpa use to work in the mines
Thanks for coming to Polk County!
Doug Dennis i always enjoy my visits to Polk
Very professional,nice watch
Great job with the editing
Thank you Willie
Definitely go the high school museum!
Older guy here, lol, the blue and small red stripe painted gas stations would have been Exxon. Now known primarily as Mobile.
florida is cool
Cool video!
Thank you
I thought I was watching an Adam the woo video for a sec there. You sound a lot like him.
I used to do post construction clean up and one of the jobs was at a resort Mosaic owns out there called Streamsong. We used to pass the smokestack on the way to work every day and I always wished I could get out and get up close to it. I remember researching the town of Brewster at the time after looking up the smokestack on google lol
What you thought was "the place they fill the fuel tank" is the base plate for a well pump. It's setting on top of the water well itself.
Great voice. Interesting video
Thank you
I was raised in Bradley
You may not be aware but there is an old tale about the Headless Horseman Swamp out there, do not know details only that they called it that, not sure why...it is on Ft. Green Rd near the closed now CF Industries mine, near also Streamsong, a very luxurious resort in the MIDDLE of nowhere...also there is a little rundown restaurant called Kings Fries that is run by a local and has pretty good food, not health food.
Every year, it seems as though your pumpkin takes on a very _Wilson-esque_ personality 😂🎃‼️
Haha that’s a good way to describe it thanks Sherry :)?
As a kid living in Bradley Junction, we used to go down to that store all the time that was across the street from my house and get chips and play at the park. They’re also used to be an older black gentleman they couldn’t speak but with the sweetest guy ever and we used to give him our change, I was only about 12 and don’t remember much of his name I don’t know if anybody knew who he was
And he always smiled. I remember when he died.
I've visited Bradley Jct/Brewster several times on my motorcycle. Take Lithia-Pinecrest Rd. from SR60 for a more scenic route. Afterwards, continue south on Old Hwy 37 to see another town that time forgot, Fort Green. Be mindful of the feral hogs, though; lots of dead ones on the side of the roads down there, and I suspect hitting one - especially on a motorcycle - would be the very definition of having a bad day.
When you see a payphone and it still has the phone book look and see what year the phone book says.lol😂
I D Ziggity liked this video, that was awesome🙂
Thanks buddy
That 60's building at 3:32 was most likely a Post Office.
👍🏻! Thanks for sharing, once again! Old Floridia 🇺🇸! Americana. What year was that phone book I wonder. 🤔
It’s a relic for sure thank you my friend
In the old railroad cross ties look for date nails it's a nail with a number on the head for the year that cross tie was installed
I'm on the hunt for a really nice Metal detector to take here! I imagine you can probably find some really old coins left around.
Ma you sound like Adam the Woo, cool video.
OMG I was there and wrote my name on the building
The thing you pointed out that you thought was a place to fill tanks is actually part of an old well pump, the motor is missing.
As a teenager dating my first husband who lived and still does, and owns Kings Fries, in Ft. Green, a carload of us went out to the area and got out of the car and heard a scream am sure it was a panther and nearly killed ourselves getting back in the vehicle..also a bunch of us went to the cemetery out there one nite and another local who still lives there, a girl got wind of us going and put a sheet over her head and road thru the cemetery on a horse and scared the bejesus out of all of us, she still has horses...I am 74 and so is she, so many memories.
So much Phosphate in Dunnellon Florida ruining the rainbow river I can’t believe people would harm such a beautiful spring hundred years ago
Should do chicora. nothing left but the old church and gravyard
Do a bit on Yeehaw Junction if you can find it without blinking lol.
Not sure if up your alley, but I was wondering since you are in Tampa do a visit the site of we’re there house was and grave of the Walker Family. Capote wrote about them in his book, In Cold Blood. They should not be forgotten.
I have a copy of an original In Cold Blood. That is a great idea I’ll try to keep that in mind I always appreciate suggestions. Thank you
That’s northeast here in Florida
Yeah go back
My childhood home is behind the 7 star store , it’s falling down 😩
If plant city was abandoned I'd move back
Water at the gas pumps was to fill radiators.
It looks like there’s a camera modern day camera on top of the wall of that old 76 gas station
Do you do RUclips full time here in Tampa, Jay?
