In the US we care very little about how food looks. We care about the taste and quality of the food. Its nice to be able to hear your lovely co-host talk now. Keep up the great work.

Tex-Mex is the cuisine. The “green tomahtoes” are tomatillos (tow mah teeyohs), which are not tomatoes but do look like them, used to make the green enchilada sauce the red of course using tomato.

Hi guys! I'm from Fort Worth, Texas, and we have some really good Mexican restaurants, especially on the north side of town. A friend of my mom's Pete Hiñajosa, took me to some mom and pop places that were really fantastic. Some of them didn't even have a sign, and when you went in there were only two or three tables. Every thing was cooked to order. Sure, you had to wait a little while, but it was worth it. When waiting, you could eat chips and salsa, queso and guacamole. Though some of the chain restaurants are pretty good, they can't make it as good as the smaller ones. If you're ever in town, go to some of these.

Just so she knows, the avocado is often not simply avocado. Typically, it has a squeeze of lime juice, a little salt and some fresh coriander on it, if not also mashed together with tomato and onion (this is called guacamole).

No matter where you live in Texas, Tex-Mex is a part of Texas cuisine. My Indian friends in college loved going to Mexican restaurants because they enjoyed the spicy, hot salsas that are served there.

There is something about fresh tortilla chips. If no one is watching me, I'll mindlessly chow down on the whole bowl myself. Fresh homemade tortilla chips have a different feel from store-bought one.
    Queso means cheese in Spanish.

We all alive with so many national cuisines. ❤ my mother was a cook. Not, professionally trained in some institution. She cooked for the president of the United States and the first lady.

A premium restaurant. Homemade much better than commercial. My local avorite is "juevos rancheros" Mexican eggs, half price if you get to a place near me on weekday mornings. Can't be beat.

The cocoa/chili mix = mole was drunk by the Aztec nobility. Cocoa beans were used as money. Mole is frequently put over baked chicken. Fish taco with blue corn tortilla is also Tex-Mex. Four kinds ... Cali, Arizona, New Mexoico and Texas. Not the same as real Mexican, which is good itself.

That was the base yeah...Mole has a ton of other stuff in it though too, like cinnamon and so on.

I don't understand how Jolly can after each other. Many married couples dont even do that. But they must have a good friendship.

I went to a tex-mex when I visited Dallas. Wow. Authentic tex-mex sooooo much better than tex-mex restaurants in NY

@@chazfu most people forget nachos are just crisped up tortillas. its just a deconstructed taco. could easily be a full meal with enough toppings/dips.

Have another dish. Personally thank your cook. Take your time. Enjoy life. Imbibe in one more intoxicating conversation with a drink and a good soul. Live your life. Leave a big tip for your waiters for thanks
