NOBODY was expecting what Hanabie is bringing! 🤪😆
Awesome song. Got my tickets ready for Hanabie live in Oslo in July.
You lucky one. What a privilege.
Yukina is 4' 10" of pure, adorable, vocal chaos!
Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Saw them in Orlando a few months back for their first show state side. They blew the roof off the place!
Heard that, too. Never had the privilege myself, but envy those who did. Must me outstanding, incredible. Japanese all-female bands _spoil_ us with excellent Metal, actually. Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie... and that is only the *tip* of the iceberg, I am told.
Hanabie is the latest break-out Japanese band. They even opened for Limp Bizkit. Yukina, the vocalist, even sang a few LB songs with Fred Durst on stage. There are videos of that floating around. Unfortunately, Japanese bands don't tour with each other. They should... but they don't.
Can you imagine the numbers on a Lovebites/Band-Maid/Nemophila/Hanabie tour?
@@matthewhall8939 I would prefer a combination of Maximum The Hormone, Hanabie, Nemophila and Dexcore, but yes, sales would probably be very high in both combinations.
"Jesus Christ, that was not what I expected." Oh, we know.
Welcome to _Harajukucore!_ ❄🌸
Thanks for reacting to Hanabie (Ha-na-be-eh). Their name means, cold weather after the cherry blossoms have bloomed. It usually auto-translates to "cold flowers", or "flowers are cold".
They refer to their distinct sound as _Harajukucore,_ a mix of metal, punk, electronic, pop, and rap. The name comes from the Harajuku district which is famous for its trendsetting street fashion, music and art scene. You can definitely see and hear those influences in the video.
Hanabie are Matsuri - guitar, vocals, compositions. Yukina - clean and harsh vocals. Hettsu - bass and vocals. Chika - drums. This video features their former drummer, Sae.
Here's a few song recommendations for you - 'Otaku Lovely Densetsu', 'Be the GAL - early summer ver.', 'NEET GAME', 'Envy', 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation', 'Tousou' (run away).
If you want to hear the band explain to an audience how to pronounce their name, here's the link - ruclips.net/video/jrJUgkxIlUo/видео.html
Nemophila is a good comparison :)
Can't go wrong with Hanabie, they have non stop bangers 🔥 Hope you react to more!
"We love sweets", "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu", "Girl's Talk"... All _bangers_ . I like their new stuff way more than the songs of their early years.
Buddy you will love this band. I saw them live in the US last year, small venue sold out and the place went nuts. Absolute monster show and they bring it. Yukina (harsh vocals) is about 4’9”, cute as a button and fearless. She likes to stage dive and crowd surf during the show. As for Babymetal comparisons, I am a long time fan of both bands. It is easy to see why you connected them but as you become more familiar you will see that besides being female, Japanese and metal performers nothing else is really similar. Their biggest influence is Maximum the Hormone. Not sure if you have reacted to them but they are chaos incorporated. The song Yoshu Fukushu is a great starting point. As for my Hanabie I would go Pardon Me We Have to Go Now, them Tousou followed by Be the Gal Summer Edition. Pardon me broke them, Tousou is a Wall of Death song and Be the Gal gets the crowd hyped. As for pronouncing the name watch this before your next reaction, he’ll react to it with your next song. It is the band explaining to the crowd how to say their name; ruclips.net/video/jrJUgkxIlUo/видео.htmlsi=lLRp4NVhiHcXKL_2
Hanabie pronounced Hana be eh are what they call Harajukucore. They mix metalcore,Japanese pop, rock and occasionally hip-hop together
Hanabie will continue to surprise you, no matter what song you listen to next. Hanabie, together with Maximum The Hormone, are probably the most diverse metal band at the moment.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Hanabie. They have released two albums that are both first class.
Yukina, the lead singer, dos not require studio wizardry to go from cute squueky Anime voice to grit and growls. Anyone who has seen their live shows can vouch for that. Matsuri, lead guitar and clean vocals, really adds contrast to the vocal lines.
You can basically pick any of their music videos and enjoy them. Hanabie are signed to Sony Japan these days. You can see the difference in budget for the music videos, from their earlier ones. However, the music has always been good.
Flew to see these ladies in San Diego and Los Angeles last year. They don't disappoint live. If they come to your neighborhood don't miss out.
They're an "old" Maximum the Hormone cover band and the members like BABYMETAL (it's been quoted from interviews)...they created their own style - Harajuku Core...that's what I found out.
Saw them last year in london. Brilliant show.
Hanabie. are goated, They have nothing but bangers. Welcome to Harajukucore!
Yes, JAPAN and S KOREA are where it's been at, the last few years! 👍😎🥰
Welcome to today's Japan, my friend. Much more to experience. Band-Maid, Nemophila, Love Bites, Gacharic Spin, Otoboke Beaver, brand new Nek!. a year's worth of content, Po! 🕊
And that is only the *tip* pf the iceberg. About 10 excellent Metal bands (head and shoulders above all others), but umpteen ambitious ones heading to the top, too. ("Chaos Control" for instance.) The Japanese Metal scene alone is a rabbit hole itself.
I had the pleasure of seeing hanabie (hannah- bee- A) live at the goodthings festival in Sydney Australia last December and they absolutely killed it! They were on the smallest stage and there were crowds leaving the larger stages to come see what was going on. Her harsh vocals live are amazing. Would also suggest checking out another all female Japanese metal band Nemophilla
Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-Eh you were very close) started out in high school as a MAXIMUM THE HORMONE cover band. Check out one of their newer songs, Otaku Lovely Densetsu. Hanbie has already toured the US and are coming soon to Canada and the northern US soon.
If you want some more harsh vocals from Japan check out Nemophila - Dissension or the band, Broken By The Scream - Ki Ra I (live)
Some other Japanese bands to check out:
Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath
Band Maid - Real Existence
Yukina (lead singer) is the most adorable little mic monster you'll find lol I strongly recommend listening to Pardon Me I Have to Go Now, Reawa Dating Apps Generation, Runaway, and Otaku Lovely Densetsu.
My guilty pleasur to see a new reactor, when he discover this song. I❤it the little scare face with a surprise jump. 😂😂😂
Noone is prepared for Hanabie, it doesnt matter what song you start with
they started as a maximum the hormone cover band
I found this band 14 days ago and I love them haha been a metalcore fan for almost 20 years and it just feels like something weird and fresh enough to be really fun haha also I found a vid of the drummer (Chika) and vocalist (Yukina) getting the audience to chant back to them the proper way to say the band name haha it's HA-NAH-BEE-AY
If you want to jump down the rabbit hole of all-female rock/metal bands, I strongly suggest Crypta (Melodic Death Metal from Brazil), The Warning (Hard Rock courtesy of 3 sisters from Mexico), and three more bands from Japan - Band-Maid (Rock/Hard Rock with a bit of Pop and a bit of Punk), Lovebites (Heavy/Power/Thrash Metal), and Nemophila (best described as Metalcore and the closest in style to Hanabie). I have seen Crypta, Band-Maid, and Nemophila live and will see Lovebites in a few months at ProgPower in Atlanta.
Crypta and the song The Other Side of Anger (music video) - ruclips.net/video/WESOssx4e-k/видео.html
The Warning and the song Evolve played live at the VMAs last year - ruclips.net/video/97Pxe9KTgJc/видео.html
Band-Maid with their warm and fuzzy song called Hate? (also a live performance) - ruclips.net/video/yfORoQIqB3E/видео.html
Lovebites with their song Set The World On Fire (once again live but during the pandemic so the audience could only applaud) - ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html
Nemophila with their song Dissension (music video) - ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html
I hope you take the journey. Enjoy!
Please take a look at the English translation of the lyrics in the summary section of this video!
BABYMETAL and Hanabie are completely different in type and musicality, but I believe that both have a distinctly Japanese flavor. Japan is not good at creating 1 from 0, but we are good at creating 100 from 1. We love to absorb the best parts of various things, add them together, and create something different.
From🇯🇵
🤘🇺🇦❤️ Hanabie
There is currently no band in the world that can match what's coming out of the female Japanese metal bands. Next try Lovebites, Band Maid, Nemophila. They are all different but amazing.
Totally agree These Japanese female metal bands are fire.
Crystal Lake - Apollo. You will not be disappointed, especially if you like the harsh vocals. Another amazing Japanese Metalcore band!
The true comparisons are to PassCode, Nemophila, Broken by the Scream, Maze, Saiseiga, Little Lilith, and Dragdown. They would rather be compared to Maximum the Hormone since they started as a cover band of MTH back in high school.
React to STMLT - twilight. Another Japanese female metal band.
She wants that strawberry so bad😂😂😂😂
Going to see them live in Minnesota next week. And no they aren't like Baby Metal. They actually write their own songs and play their own instruments.
I'm a fan of both BABYMETAL and Hanabie. Many people immediately want to compare BABYMETAL in the comments. And they always say that BABYMETAL doesn't write their own songs or play instruments. It's ridiculous. They are a metal dance unit and their roles are different. If BABYMETAL members concentrated on instruments, they would easily be able to shred guitars. Because they are Japanese and don't slack off on practice.
Babymetal now has a growler with momometal. But i dont see them going down this road hehe. If you like some good rock you should try some Band Maid. "Hate?" Live official is a good starter
Roger in disguise? 😁
@@bandmaidfanATL we gotta do our part
Take this in the spirit it is intended (kind and informational), given you have only had this one listen and you only have Baby Metal as your only other reference to Japanese female rock/metal, but Hanabie is nothing like Baby Metal other than the fact they are Japanese and Female. Hanabie play their own instruments (in fact, Matsuri plays both lead and rhythm in the studio), they write their songs, and they are not posers that hide the actual metal in sheets, masks and paint in the shadows. Also, all three of the ladies other than the drummer sing, and do so on this track. Also, they formed organically, as Yukina, Matsuri and Hettsu (lead singer, guitarist and bass, resp.) have been together since middle school. Only issue, which it appears has been solved now with Chika on drums, has been their career long difficulty in retaining a drummer, though reminiscent of Spinal Tap's travails, has not been nearly as violent. They started as a Maximum the Hormone (worth a listen as well) cover band, but quickly began releasing their own material in 2016.
Honestly I pretty much only listen to Japanese all girl bands now. When it comes to rock and metal they just make the rest of the world look like they're slacking.
I could recommend a song but there is no need, just grab any of their songs, I haven't heard any I don't like...yet (that's from 1 EP and 2 albums).
c
too late
No not Babymetal. Much better, They are known for genre flips, tine changes, badass riffs, awesome transitions and of course Yukina's growls. Quirky as hell, but it works perfectly. The Japanese metal/rock scene as a whole is incredible. If you haven't yet, Lovebites, Band-Maid and Nemophila should be added to your list. These all-female bands are all incredibly talented with elite musicians.
Hey, ignoring me? That is fround upon.
