Between 1989 and 1991, although the numbers were changed, players were still listed by David Middleton’s ‘Rugby League’ annual in the old order of lock, second row, second row, prop, hooker, prop. From 1992, forward packs were listed in the stardard international order prop, hooker, prop, second row, second row, lock.
Geoff Toovey was , perhaps, the second best rugby league player of ALL time....the BEST being Cliff Lyons..BUT I need to say...ON a good day, nevertheless they were both miles ahead of Mat Johns ..maybe Bob Fulton was the third best....If these guys had played with G. Eadie as full back , Brannigan and Hannigan on the wing and Fulton and Jesus Christ in the centre, NO one, even today could touch them.
When we talk about dimwitted no one does it better than Australia and the most overrated country on the planet and also rugby league in the UK is only a peripheral sport.
