Colossal project for sure, great that it's got fresh free water supply. Just hope it doesn't attract herons or even worse the dredded Otter. Looking forward seeing it progress because no doubt when it's established & matured it will look amazing.

Looks mint 👌 i tried similar setup for koi in north wales, but with the amount of ground water coming in the temps rarely rose above 15degrees and they just didn’t grow. Watch also with gas bubble disease from nitrogen in ground water, i had to really aggressively aerate the water to gas it off. Can’t wait to see it finished and planted up!

It'll definitely be interesting to see how the small koi develop in there compared to the mud ponds of Japan. It'll be good to see the progress on the pond and I'm sure it'll be mint when finished.

I think it's the clay bottom that is the problem as the koi will stur it up. When I dig my clay pond I'm considering lining it with smoth pebbles then compacting them down. Never seen it done but think it will work.

So sponge filters will be used rather than bead , drum or Bakki Tim ? Three Tetra sponge filters should suffice 👍👍👍👍

The property is at the top of the hill really… there is a stream coming all the way through in different locations. He just hooked a pipe up to a tiny stream and it will constantly fill, he will put a pipe back into the stream too. So just in and out

He will do but no pollution at all. He owns all the surrounding land and that pond is the first stop at source water
