Every video I had been wondering where the mentions of your family had gone. I’m so sorry to here about the split and that it happened during one of my favorite videos. We’re here for you!
The video title is misleading, Guy. You actually made the land raider a thousand times worse. Partly by saying the word "landrussy", which made me want to throw up a bit. Great job.
the beautiful thing about nurgle or green boyz is you can just add and add little details everywhere and it doesnt look tacky or "too much" like they are just so excessive and i love them for that
When Guy made a Nurgle Landraider, Khorners were cut. Guy, "At least the weather was nice..." 😆😆😆 The finished model looks like it has escaped from Phil Tippett's "Mad God".
This video should be the biggest hobby video of all time, this channel is the only reason I am in the hobby and he needs to continue to make some of the best mini-painting content on the internet.
Those blue veins for me were the point were the point that this went from "yeah, the paint job is coming along nicely" to "take that thing away from me" It was a really smart move to go with feint but lines that looked like unhealthy blood vessels under the skin. The more obvious move to paint bold veins on top of the skin wouldn't have been nearly as uncanny.
A couple things: 1. I actually gagged a little when you did the full reveal for the tank. It's... revolting. I love it! 2. As someone who has been forced to move when the timing sucks and the financial situation is not the best; from the bottom of my heart, Guy, I feel for you, Nessa, and the kids. I hope you all find something that works for you without too much trouble. I know how the market looks over here in the States. I'm hoping it's at least a little better over there for you folks.
Dont feel bad about not putting the funds toward a charity. As so many people tell there audience, only give if your finances are sound and dont give more then you can afford. If there are thing you, your family and your coworkers need, they come first. Without looking after yourself, you cant more content or help people in the future. Want you to have all the best!
In the most beautiful moment of coincidence @11:50, just as you mentioned the ridiculousness of painting a butthole, Mrs Ape looked over my shoulder and asked "Is he painting an arsehole?"... with such instant recognition, I'd say you did a fine job of creating said puckered orifice. Great vid Guy, good luck with the move. Love and light as always.
The Landrussy video was and still is one of my favourites. Hearing the pain and also joy it and its creative process brought you is kind of bittersweet, and ironically Nurgly lore-accurate. It's good to hear you're going strong and progressing it. From one father of twins (my girls are turning 10 in July), wishing you the very best. You deserve it. Also I'm flying over to Nottingham with my 2000 points of Orks today, and I'm hyped af. 😅
I'm sorry this model is representative of a dark time in your life, but I'm happy you've found the courage to make something positive and creative with it that will bring a fan joy. Been a fan for years, never commented but your context regarding this model spoke to me. Enjoy your weekend mate, much love from South Yorkshire.
I love what you've done with the Landrussy! But I will say, you missed the opportunity to put yellow dots of corn in the seepage, I think that would've made it both more disturbing and funnier.
I love the transparency guy, I’ve been a long time fan and never knew - obviously. Made you feel more real and human to me weirdly. Love the tank, being a DG player myself! Hattys dragon looked amazing. Keep up the good work Guy, legend.
I didn't expect this video to get so real, great to see you revisit this model and what it means to you in such a direct way and see you happy to move on from it and not left it define you, and as someone also looking to escape the rental market I completely get your frustration. You have such an awesome community of people supporting you and I'm sure they will keep doing so while the real life stuff takes its course. Here's to new adventures and new challenges and all they lead to! Best of luck finding the right place.
The model is incredible, but just to say as a fellow toddler dad I know it's tough to keep emotional capacity for yourself when you're going through upheaval. You're doing great and you are more than enough. Don't be afraid to reach out, stoicism is vastly overrated, especially in fathers, and there's a whole community here for you ❤
I just want to say guy your videos have really helped me through some very tough times. Recently ve been diagnosed with Dyskeratosis congenita and warhammer has really been an escape so i want to say thank you for getting me into it and keeping my spirits up over the last few months.
I want you to know that this channel is the biggest reason I got into the hobby. Your videos about easy ways to do things got me to start painting an army of Astra Militarum and I’ve never looked back. I love this hobby and this channel. Thank you so much for all you do, Guy!
Thank you Guy - 40k was a huge part of my childhood and watching your videos brings back so many memories of old friends and acquaintances at the local hobby store I used to work at as a kid! I started watching some time before your twins arrived and I’ve loved every single piece of content - You seem to be in a better place now than back when you made the first iteration of this monstrosity and for that I’m thankful. From one dad to another, cherish your twins - they are a blessing even though I know parenting is hard. Oh yeah, and of course, cherish Hatty, you’re lucky to have her as well ;)
As a small Warhammer content creator myself, you have always been the best sort of example of a great channel with amazing, engaging, fun content. I was there when you first posted your sandstone Necrons on Reddit, and the day you opened a Patreon I subscribed. You are literally the only YT creator I have stayed with fior every single video. As a silly American, I'm going to reach out to a couple members of the IDIC Beer YT community (Maybe even Nick himself) and see if I can get some tickets. Don't care if i win or lose, just want to see you keep succeeding and keep entertaining. Seriously Guy, you are an inspiration. Keep on, keeping on.
I really appreciate your story and openness with your struggles, as well as the amazing painting content! keep your chin up and keep doing amazing art!

@MidwinterMinis well, if you ever need to do shorter form vids know I'm up for watching them. Wanna support the channel that gave me the push to try my hand at mini-painting

Your old landraider video was one of the first that i saw when i got into the hobby. It's faire to say that it now lives rent free in my head and is a huge reason why i want to start a death guard army. I always enjoy watching your videos and i have learned while doing so. I think its great what you have done with the model and i have to admit that it looks so nurgely that i would ask my opponent to not play it. And to anyone who read this comment I hope you haven an awesome day. Bye.
So the buried lede in this story is that Dirty Down Rust doesn't stay stable on models if light hits them. That's important information to have for something so expensive!
Think of it as passing on this Nurgle creature is the start of the next chapter of Midwinter Minis. So great to see where the channel is now from when I started watching all those years ago. 👏
Would just like to say that your worth is not determined by the amount content you can produce. This is the second video I watch and it’s clear to see the time you put into your videos, good stuff man it’s genuinely enjoyable!
Hey man, I appreciate you being so honest and open about your artistic process. I hope things work out for you wherever you wind up, and you can finally get some peace.

Hey man, renting is tough in England, I use to live right next to London. Had enough and decided to move out and start fresh. Now I live in Scotland! Best decision I ever made, it’s not for everyone but don’t lose hope, there’s always that end goal that’s going to be achieved. Here’s to your 4th home being the permanent one! Good luck to you and the family
Thanks bud! I used to live in Edinburgh for 14 years, I agree, it felt like half the price of living in Colchester, but I can't leave because my my kids are here. Maybe in 15 years! Haha
I think Salute is much more firecer and such with its award is because its a properly open competition for painters, whilst GW's is mostly GW stuff, you have 3D resin models, different wargames, etc etc.
@@MidwinterMinis Oh yeah I wasn't downplaying the other people there! there were some fantastic paintjobs on display, I was just throwing in my guess on why what I said probably was at play maybe, alongside the other people in the compeition!
Lord Nurgle would be pleased by the growth of his blessings on this land raider. Thank you for this, anything nurgle based is awesome, and you made a awesome already strive to be that good mini into a "I'll never be able to do that" mini As a US resident I'm sad I don't have a chance at this to join my death guard. But Nurgle's blessing are for all and I'll be happy to know a player out there somewhere will have this amazing raider.
Huge improvement! So glad you revisited this one - it was always one of my favourite of the ones you've done. Really enjoy seeing these types of videos which showcase your imagination. Also, the housing market can be real rough. Please focus on the important things even if it means a reduced upload rate. We'll be here waiting when you're all set up again! :)
Actually, e very refreshing experience, did the same not so long ago. After more than a decade off the hobby, I decided to get back and try those fancy Speedpaints and stuff. Got meself some 3d printed goblins, highwaymen and zombies. Painted them and thought that it was quite cool. Now, almost a year of painting later, I decided to take those old minis and give them a facelift. Highlights, more contrast, usual stuff. But not painting them anew, instead building upon what I did a year ago. That was cool.
okay ONE thing ive noticed.. wouldve been cool i you had blood smear of the insides of the belts bc the flesh overgrows it so when the tank moves the flash would be ripped open and smearing all over the treads
I'm just beginning, but for veins, I have really enjoyed the results from painting them on the base coast pretty dark, then glazing the final flesh tone and highlights over them. REALLY makes them look like they're under the skin.
Who remembers the game Total Carnage? This things arms remind me if the first major boss, that big green...thing....with the gun arms that starts shooting tongues at you at the end
Great video… the upgraded paint job on the Nurgle tank just highlights your painting skill nicely done … as someone else who also has been forced into moving home, I wish you every success in finding somewhere that is right for you and your family… best of luck with the raffle. Thanks for sharing 🍻👍
The moment where reaction "I want to vomit and forgot the day I saw this" mean that model was made of highest quality, just incredible vile job, astonishing disgusance. (Actually I wasn't shocked especially after all crap I saw, but model is really incredible, good job man)
Mate, this is your livelyhood and in these times and with that situation on your hands, I think most of us will agree that you deserve some safety and peace with your living situation and therefore, be mercenary all you need to acomplish it.
i love how he says "a one day rush job". meanwhile i paint mine in factory mode, all the same ( except i really have detailed models like death guard ) and need 5-6 hours for 10 models ( or for one if i paint death guard ) my necrons really are just white primer, agrax earth shade ( all over the body ), red eyes, bronce details ( breast part or crowns ), tesseract glow, gun metal for the weapons and thats it. i gave the bases a very nature look which makes them fit in really great. but my whole army ( round about 1500 points whitout vehicles ) was painted in 5-6 hours. if i think about space marines and see their models, same for necrons i just love the monotone style. all has its order.
I love the reds, pinks, yellows and browns you used for the nurgle theme here. it's so much more realistic, and disgusting, then the greens GW is usually using.

"Alright, just got my lunch. Now to sit down and enjoy it while I watch the newest Midwinter Minis vide- ohmygod...
-Me, roughly half an hour ago
me too. I did wonder exactly what I was doing with myself while I was eating lunch and watching this.
You've definitely put a smile on my face, Guy! BTW This Nurgly tank is totally vomit-inducing... AND IT'S GLORIOUS!!!
Saw it at salute! Great makeover looking forward to your future entrys
Hey man, I appreciate you being so honest and open about your artistic process. I hope things work out for you wherever you wind up, and you can finally get some peace.
Comments and ads are part of the algorithm I believe hence why I like, comment and watch ads all the way through. I'd love to help financially but things are pretty tight in central London where I live . Thank you for your efforts I love everything you guys do,hope move goes as well as it can ❤
"Backsteet Dentistry". LOL. My mom is a retired dentist and 100% would approve of this.
The horns in the music at the end of a project are always epic.
It looks even worse now looking at it just makes me feel like I need a shower......so great job really captured that nurgle feel lol
Ugh, revolting. I love it!
And good luck with the house stuff, the uncertainty must be draining. I hope it works out!
WHEN THE TANKERS SAID SHOW HOLE I THEY DID NOT EXPECT THIS
19:03 AND DAM IT IS SO MUCH BETTER
and good luck in ur future endeavors
Hey man, renting is tough in England, I use to live right next to London. Had enough and decided to move out and start fresh.
Now I live in Scotland! Best decision I ever made, it’s not for everyone but don’t lose hope, there’s always that end goal that’s going to be achieved. Here’s to your 4th home being the permanent one!
Good luck to you and the family
Thanks bud! I used to live in Edinburgh for 14 years, I agree, it felt like half the price of living in Colchester, but I can't leave because my my kids are here. Maybe in 15 years! Haha
genuinely horrifying Guy! you're a gem, it's always a pleasure to share your journey, thank you for everything so far.
I think Salute is much more firecer and such with its award is because its a properly open competition for painters, whilst GW's is mostly GW stuff, you have 3D resin models, different wargames, etc etc.
Aaah, the simple reason is that there were many far better paint jobs than mine! I'm colourblind but I'm not BLIND blind, haha
Thank you for this, anything nurgle based is awesome, and you made a awesome already strive to be that good mini into a "I'll never be able to do that" mini
As a US resident I'm sad I don't have a chance at this to join my death guard.
You're not only an incredibly talented and wildly created artist, you just seem like the nicest guy. Cheers, great video!
I can only say; the tank is absolutely disgusting in real life as well. A great piece of horror. Go raffle!
Thanks Alex! Seeing all your little cameos when I was going through the footage brought a big smile to my face!
@@MidwinterMinis Don't mind me, just sneaking my face in...
Bringing a whole new meaning to the "Emergency disembarkation" strategem 😂🤢🤮
Wow it's amazing to see you revisit this. The original video was what convinced me to bite the bullet and dive into warhammer as a hobby.
okay ONE thing ive noticed..
wouldve been cool i you had blood smear of the insides of the belts bc the flesh overgrows it so when the tank moves the flash would be ripped open and smearing all over the treads
I'm just beginning, but for veins, I have really enjoyed the results from painting them on the base coast pretty dark, then glazing the final flesh tone and highlights over them. REALLY makes them look like they're under the skin.
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT MORE GROSS!?
Ohhh, you will see, you will see...
@@MidwinterMinisyou scare me
@@holdencross5904 I scare me too
The original video making this beast was what truly got me into warhammer man. It’s nice to see him get a little upgrade after all these years.
Amazing video Guy, really great opportunity to revisit such an iconic model! Well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Tank is what brought me to the channel. It looks even better than before, I love it!
This is a good example of an important but brutal technique for self improvement. Destroying what you've done to do it again, and do it better.
"Now i've got a new hole to work in" - Guy
I cannot imagine a more original way of "a part of me will always be with you" between a man and is craft.
i love how he says "a one day rush job".
meanwhile i paint mine in factory mode, all the same ( except i really have detailed models like death guard ) and need 5-6 hours for 10 models ( or for one if i paint death guard )
my necrons really are just white primer, agrax earth shade ( all over the body ), red eyes, bronce details ( breast part or crowns ), tesseract glow, gun metal for the weapons and thats it.
i gave the bases a very nature look which makes them fit in really great. but my whole army ( round about 1500 points whitout vehicles ) was painted in 5-6 hours.
if i think about space marines and see their models, same for necrons i just love the monotone style. all has its order.
True monument to the British Dental Association!
Guy: Makes something better looking and cooler than anything I’ll ever make
Also Guy: It was a rush job and kinda sloppy 💀
Good luck on finding a new studio. I enjoyed this video.
I love the reds, pinks, yellows and browns you used for the nurgle theme here. it's so much more realistic, and disgusting, then the greens GW is usually using.
My throat is drying up. I can feel the sickly(ness?) of it 14:24
