I think it’s no coincidence that the sun is the light source used as an example, and the “Son” is our light source in the same way. I was just doing a bible study and was wondering what compassion truly meant, as I saw Jesus having compassion on people. Usually I read articles but I felt I needed to watch a youtube video and scrolled down and felt I needed to see this one. This brings so much clarity and has helped me so much.

compassion is like an upgrade to empathy. compassion has action without expectations. also, when empathy occurs, one can feel and resonate with someone's pain. compassion has a buffer between you and someone's pain. it's more like unconditional love. if you can help, you help. but if you can't you just go one with your live. makes sense?

Does compassion really come from empathy? Can't it also come from sympathy?
Sympathy is “ standing with”, empathy is “ standing in” another’s shoes.
