Ah yes. Mutating the cute mechanic tomboy waifu with a horrifying parasite to grant inhuman abilities that border on insane without care for long-term consequences while losing the ability to speak other than clicks. Imagine seeing this cute anime girl with a weird face staring at you from the depths in water that should crush a human in an instant, you would think you've gone mad, except now she's blowtorching the walls. Then again since you've already crossed the line with genetic mutation I think you can install a text-to-speech augment in her face so she can talk again (robotically). Though since this is the advanced future maybe the tts has AI speech options that let you talk in whatever voice you desire.
I remember how i was on beacon station mission, and i watched pirates inside of it through the glass. This is when i imagined how anime girl stares at you with creepy obsession, and rolled with idea for the video. Yes, she will have TTS device

I actually have a fun Barotrauma lore fact that'll make this all *even worse* than it already is. The "Cure" to the parasite isn't actually in itself a permanent solution, it more just temporarily "sedates" the parasites so they don't basically activate and take over the host. Meaning if and when your character is infected with husk they have those parasites inside of their throat for the remainder of their life. All hail the mighty husk, for it shall forever flourish in this world and onto the next!
Also a fun fact to add onto the rest of it, wearing a mask of *welding fuel* which would normally suffocate you in mere moments has zero effect on you however it still eats through the welding fuel... so I guess the husk was hungry.
@@Empty_Master Of those, I'd say that HHM (matriarch) genes are the weakest of the three easily. While HP regeneration *is* very nice, it's not super super fast even with max efficiency. It's more like an out of combat regen to save medical supplies from patching up survivable injuries. It pairs well with other perks/gear/armor which helps mitigate the damage you take in the first place. Honestly, Moloch alone isn't the best, however when combined with existing damage resistance methods is where it gets it's strength. As it can potentially turn possibly dangerous chip damage into a mere annoyance at best.
@@lechking941 Not so much that it *prevents* regen, more that it keeps it occupied healing the continuous incoming damage. However you can actually out heal it if you have enough burn resistence (PUCs suit usually)

That's the same as most of the diving suits in the game, legit only outclassed by two of them. The emergency dive suit (bizarrely, however I understand why is so from a respawn shuttle you can get into your ship inside the abyss if needed), and the Abyssal diving suit. Meaning long as you wouldn't be pulling out the abyssal suit, Husk is a perfectly good alternative if not even better. Considering you can wear proper body armor or other "external wear" like the safety harness and the like. *In addition* to not having to deal with the movement and vision restriction/reductions, and oxygen requirements of needing to carefully track and reload your O2 tanks.

One time, me and my friends were doing a mining mission. Somewhere on the journey, we came across a sunken sub. While two of our guys were down in the wreck cleaning house for anything useful, I spotted a husk jerking itself through the water. I was on a chaingun loaded with explosive rounds, so I loosed a salvo and watched the body fly apart. Not two seconds later, the torso, missing both legs and an arm, continued to swim upwards. Scared the hell out of me.
Megumi just needs to get her one of those text to speech soundboards where each button says a different word. Like what Steven Hawking had. Then she can engage in friendly conversation.
Aw, that was adorable. I would love to watch more content on just this, but I think this was more of a one-off thing wasn't it. It was very good. Very entertaining. Good waifu. Quality character design in all manners. Truly one of the best characters ever created. (I'll subscribe in hopes that they become some kind of reoccurring character, but I won't unsubscribe if they aren't.) I'm going to go ahead and save this video somewhere.

Dafuq, how are you alive without a diving suit outside of a ship/station? Husk Genes can do that? EDIT: Found out that it was not the genes that do that, it was the infection itself.
The main thing the genes do is keep you from fully transforming into a Husk, which allows you to reap all of the benefits of being infected without succumbing completely to it and dying.
I would probably still use diving suit for headlight, just not load oxygen, plus I guess I am lucky I main resistance and church so I get free husk immunity once I finish it...I assume

you may not need a diving suit, but i prefer having one on just because of the pretty big resistances they provide. especifally hardsuit mk2 combine that with marine undergarments + helmet and hammer head matriach genes + moloch genes and even an endworm will be suprised when you survive his bite.
in fact my captain got a little out of hand power wise... 2 masterwork ceremonial swords is all it took for her to be able to masacre entire outposts alone, not the ones owned by bandits. faction outposts. no medicine needed either. you would just run in there and all the guards would be dead and dismembered in the matter of seconds.

The Zealot robes also provide protection against the Husk Parasite and it also provides healing according to the wiki
with the church items, you literally can stack regen on your character and be unstoppable
