Hi. I just came across this and I’m just a girl from Arkansas- but the part where the universe is sealed in six directions is the geodesic dome of the cosmos. The six directions are the hexagonal carbon plasma (it’s glass). It’s one huge prism. I know there are a lot of scholars out there via Kabbalah. If so, you are correct via path to the no-thing of home. It goes from no-thing to womb to being a particle to being many particles to passing through these lives of awe them you just get back in your body without an individual mind. Super childlike. Anyway - love ya!
😂 "a mess" thank you for those words. as i completly understand the neesd for the humility these days Everyome has something to say regardless of how useless their opinion. and thanks even more for making this easily available. ❤
I read it for the first time (!) after we talked about it. If any of those alphabet soup esoteric groups in the 19th/20th century were basing their qabbalah on this....yikes. Thanks, Dan! I was at the NYC book fare late last week and saw not a few volumes that reminded me of you!
How would you properly judge that notion, seeing as though you’re not a practitioner or even really believe in God as you said in your latest Q&A. Just curious is all.
@@eunoiaeudaimonia6829 I guess knowing the MS history of the text, the philosophical background of it's production, reading the original Hebrew of the various rescenions, the more than a dozen historical commentaries stretching over a millenia and seeing that this 'edition/translation' fails in every regard of those just makes me question using it as a foundation for basing much on. Not that they should let any pesky facts matter ;)
@@TheEsotericaChannel thank you for the clarification. Really is a game changer to be able to read Hebrew and interprets these texts more intuitively. Etymology changes so much.
Also, given all that - I wouldn't want to use the text, given all the scholarship of the past 100 years or more, for the basis of anything outside of some generalities about its meaning: the text just remains that honestly obscure.
After listening to the translation I realized how much better it is than one I heard very recently. As a firm believer in Abraham Abulafia and his message, I feel this translation is in the public domain for good reason and is a much better translation than it's given credit for (especially opposed to the prophetic Kabbalistic interpretation I just heard). It's easy to understand, it's not lacking (like some other translations). Thanks for a good and simple read. Straight to the point is so wonderful.
A reading of the ancient Hebrew text in its original writing reveals so much more. Much like when you read the old Testament in Hebrew versus reading it translated into English (or other languages).
@frankocean9173 in short, the Hebrew language has less letters than English. Where English has, say, several words to convey an idea - the Hebrew language has one word to convey several different ideas. And the Hebrew language doesn't just convey these ideas in words, but also numbers (gematria) and pictographs for each word.

Second time listening to Defer Yetzirah as part of my Esoteric studies this year. Although I've made much progress, I have yet to understand why or how all of the Hebrew letters or correspond to human body parts, human activities, and constellations.
As above, so below. As within, so without. Take the many fractals, such as the mandelbrot set within the logistic map, crystalline order within apparent chaos. These fractals show us something about the mind of the One, that on every level, order assimilates itself from the void in self similar perpetuity. How? Why? They are questions that require us to remove our ego from the equation and look at the flow and resonance of energy that underlies the illusion of matter. How? Because He Said "Let there be Light" Why? Because He Saw the Light and He Saw that it was Good. And from the separation of Light and Dark, he gave life to the many patterns that came forth to describe the harmonies that stretched between infinite silence and the spoken Name.
@@iamhewhospeaks it's not learning as much as removing your ego as the barrier between you and the divine. The divine lives inside of you, all you have to do is allow it to speak through your mouth and see through your eyes. Safe seeking, brother.
You're not "missing" anything that I'm aware of. But I would like to remind that most people like to study the earlier records due to the LACK of translations, as backwards as that might sound, it's less like a game of telephone due to things lost in translation(s). Maybe I'm getting to philosophical here, but does one need to take physical action to create? If our thoughts shape our reality, and the most high is the ULTIMATE Creator, maybe that rest was just a lack of concious creating? Like God's lowkey way of saying "eff it" and it was ironically intentional because it gave us our BIGEEST key to true godliness forgiveness. What better way then to help us REAAAALLLLLY learn unconditional love, but a bunch of creations that will "challenge" us to dig deep for understanding and acceptance. Sorry, went real sideways there, tl:dr there truth in all and you didn't miss a thing, but it might only be the tip of the iceberg.

It'd be interesting if not, thinking core pieces written without foundation of the before core peices.
But I thought Jupiter is the 6th planet and Saturn the 7th.
Written in 1800 something. But consider the possibility of the planets changing places too. Who knows, God does.
They change places often but it's not for us to know
Yes it is the 6th when you read the book of infernal circles or depth it's the 6th infernal but in the upper world it is Regal and Sublime
I believe it's the book of formation, not creation
Very interesting as well. Seems to be quite a bit of Jewish content lately. May I ask for a reason?
