Being a HD tech what are your thoughts on the liquid Cool heads? Personally, I absolutely love the 2024’s the only negative I give motor company is they should’ve included in 24 a gloss black interfering.
Honestly, the only reason we have water heads is because of the EPA cooling the exhaust port down lowers emissions…..which in turn allows Harley to still run the iconic but outdated air cooled motor. I have no issues with them, they’re obviously a bit messy when taking them apart but so is oil haha. Yes they should have done a painted inner fairing !
I think Harley Davidson did a great job on the 24s, with the 117 motor and liquid cooled heads. The only complaint I have is why are we paying for a sissy bar and heat shields and a reat shifter, and a mounting kit for 650.00 extra dollars??
@@michaelpulice6100 im not really sure what your talking about ? no harley comes with a sissy bar or heel shifter. Now if your talking about the "package system" harley has come up with, I can't remember the name their calling it....... I think it's called the day tripper package, but im not sure what the different packages cost. if you break down the cost of the individual parts and labor to install im sure it would come out about the same
Indian still has the better suspension set up and handling with the inverted front forks, Fox mono shock and brembo brakes. I do like the water cooled heads and the fact HD put the radiator low on the frame drawing the hot air down and away from the rider. Love the new design of the street glide and finally decent lighting from HD. I will be checking out my local HD dealer and maybe just maybe put one of these in my garage.
I won’t disagree….there are plenty of better handling bikes right out the gate!!! That is an area Harley keeps dragging their feet on for sure. BUT they are getting better ! These 24’s really do ride great
Got a Breakout last year after having a 15 Street Glide Special, the 24 Street Glide now has me thinking I should've waited cause I would definitely get back on a SG!
The dimensions of that infotainment system and the plastic below it remind me of them 85’-93’ dash cluster. Not sure about the squareish headlight though. Reminds me of the station wagon in National Lampoons Vacation movie! 😜
By junk internals what do you mean ? The M8 has been a pretty reliable powertrain….now there were obvious problems with the 17-19 oil pumps and mid year 19 they fixed that issue and haven’t had any major issues since then.
@@VtwinRevolution I have a 2021 Road Glide Special. After 20,000 miles the bike sounded like complete shit on every cold start. Turns out the OEM Mexican made lifters were junk. I spent $1,200 replacing them with S&S lifters.
Yeaaahhhh let’s rephrase that “globally sourced components hahaha, it’s a good thing you went with S&S. Harley says that the SE lifters are only good for about 11k miles 🤦♂️ I prefer fueling lifters. I run the daylights out of my bike which is why it’s broke lol but the lifters never gave up. I will be making another video soon about the carnage and tear down of my bike soon….itll be a good one haha
Considering that the design is subjective, but of lost I may also like, but there are several things in I do not like... Example increased radiator with fan and external cooling tank on the left. In addition to being ugly aesthetically, unprotected is therefore subject to breakage. Raw dashboard plastics not worked and finished badly, too many buttons on the handlebar that leads you to distraction, display abonerme that in addition to distraction is easy to break. Also, the suspensions with automatic adjustment according to mapping, honking repositioned to the left near the bottom of the foot without cover and besides being inaudible because it is placed on the ground is ugly aesthetically. Last but not list, if it was a new era all modern, the cruis controll had to be adaptive as they have bmw and ducati. This is only Pov 😊 Ciao
That’s subjective….are there perks now, yes ! You have ride modes to select from. Road mode, rain mode and sport mode. Better-ish suspension and newer tech. I’m still getting used to the look of the bike but it’s growing on me. All in all do I think it’s a better platform now, yes it’s got room for growth and handles better and performs better.
So the new 24’s are just water cooled in the heads. The only bikes that are full water cooled are the pan-am, sportster S and the nightster. There really isn’t much difference in the HP and TQ from the 23-24 2024 117 M8 105hp 130ft-lb tq 2023 117 M8 103hp 126ft-lb tq There’s really not much difference
Ok last 3 is it more fuel efficiency than the 23?? Can you sit at stop lights without overheating in hot temperatures?? And which mode is the best mode to ride in when it come to saving gas??
Dude, you could ask me as many questions as you want lol. They claim it gets 44mpg, I saw one in the shop the other day that I was doing a service on that showed 47mpg Can you sit in traffic without over heating, No. the coolant only flows through the heads to keep the bike running as consistently as possible. The cylinders are still air cooled and you could cook them if you got stuck in an extended traffic stop situation. Road mode is gonna give you the best possible fuel mileage
Well, it needs to be black, matte black preferably, with black out engine. That ugly long ass pipe running down the length of 2/3rds of the frame has to go, the bags need lids that conform to the rear fender instead of square, gloss black wheels because Harleys clear powder coat looks like hell after about a year, and the info center needs to be separate from the gauges, I imagine everything goes through it and that will leave you on the side of the road, and last but not least, yes, the suspension is udder crap 🤣✌️
I agree whole heartedly !!! ONE of the worst things Harley did was get rid of black denim. Yeah there is a lot to get used to for sure, BUT that is the beauty of a Harley…..you can change every aspect (except the electronics) and make it your own personal touch 🤘 thanks for the feedback and keep the shiny side up brother!
I don't get why people have such an issue with Harley using different rear spring rates and adjustments for each side but everyone is ok with aftermarket companies such as Legends, Ohlins, Progressive, etc, doing the same for the front suspension. It's ok for the front suspension but not ok for the rear suspension? One side does compression while the other side does rebound. Is it because people think Harley is just being cheap? Do people believe Harley engineers are just imbeciles and don't have a clue of what they design and don't test anything? What's the issue? 🤷
you are correct, other aftermarket companies do in fact have a spring on one side and a cartridge on the other as a performance suspension, but harley was doing that back in the early 2000's that is also a dated way of doing things and keeping the cost down for the consumer. As long as ive been doing this.... YES I do think harley engineers are idiots lol but in all seriousness my gripe is that it's a cheap way of offering an under performing suspension.
This is the type of insight our community is hungry for on this platform. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Happy to help 🤘
I like the new style so much, I just traded my Road King in on a White Onyx Pearl Road Glide… 😊
NICE !!! Congrats ! I like the white onyx pearl
You are one of the best for information, thanks for the run down ❤❤❤
thank you, that's very kind.

I wish somebody would invent a smudge proof/finger print proof infotainment screen. And I wish they kept the cigarette lighter plug.
Yeah not a lot of people were/ are happy about the cig lighter being gone
@@VtwinRevolution can one be installed at a dealer?
If you have a 23 and earlier yes, 24’s no, I apologize I just saw this

Wait till you get the opportunity to ride one !
Does the standard 2024 have the transmission shifter drum that makes neutral easy to find like the CVO
Yes the shift drum was improved for the 24’s
Always been a low rider fan but that SG is sexy
