● This is the new 2025 Mercedes-Benz HWA EVO; a homage to the iconic Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II. The original EVO II was driven by a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine tuned by Cosworth, but HWA has opted for a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter V6, supplied by Mercedes itself. The car you see in the video is still a prototype and just 100 examples of the HWA EVO will be produced, priced from €714,000.

All v6 engines got the same tone... it sounds like my MX6 V6 2.5 litre however it's a manual transmission...
@@user-ut2ok2of3f yep true any NA V6 have "almost" same tone but this actually a boosted V6 and this sound just remember me a tuned Turbo Diesel V6 from Audis because really loud and smooth at the same time.

Looks out of proportion is the kindest thing i can write about it and it sounds like a VQ engined hood missile.
It's a V6 so of course it sounds similar to a VQ

This has always been one of my favorite cars. I have a fond memory of the final license test on Gran Turismo 4, where you use the 190E to complete a flying lap on the nurburgring.
From the front it looks great, but the engine sound is like a loud vacuum. I initially didn’t like look for the rear but it grew on my considerably after seeing it side by side with the unmodified. The sound from the rear is great, but is kind of weird at different RPM’s. Like when he revs the engine as the rev drops, just before returning to idle it farts.

I love it even more than the old one. It's such a masterpiece.
The EVO II is a timeless sports sedan icon, and I was trying my hardest to love this, I really wanted to. But then 6:20 happened and the illusion just shattered. What an awful noise this makes. It gets close to being good, some angles are fantastic. But what's good here is offset by several bad design choices that severely detract from the project. I'd give this restomod a grade C-.
They at the very least, should've used the Mercedes M256 turbo straight 6 instead of this turd if throwing 2 more cylinders at it, at least it could've sounded good.

It’s a H-pattern Standard transmission, just as Nature intended
Listening to the gear changes definitely sounded like an automatic or a DCT. Maybe it’s offered as an option. There was no mention of an automatic during the launch with Top Gear.
By the way, does anyone know the location where this video was shot? I’ve seen it on many car meets on RUclips, mainly watching supercars and hypercars race each other along the runway. Watched one with Shmee150 racing along it a few years ago.

With them widening the track, choosing a V6 for better weight distribution, balance and basically making it a front mid engine. I was hoping to see it corner. I have been imagining doing something like this. putting a Cadillac V6 into a 71 corvette

I wish that HWA 190E Restomod have a amg V8 engine instead v6 engine because the amg v8 engine sound much better than v6 engine.
V8 is too heavy for ideal weight distribution, with the v6 placed this far back it should be superior on the track

At 3:00 you can see that this one looks like an evo2 on steroids.
I like it except for the roof it's too high it shouldn't be that "tall".
Afaik it got 450hp but it still got room to upgrade saw it in another video. Price will be around 700k limited units. Still haven't watched the whole video maybe they will mention it...
I'm not sure what you mean. The original Evo has a sticker and a green shade band on the clear windscreen which makes the clear windscreen appear narrower. The HWA windscreen appears larger in comparison due to the black tint or is it only me. I mean the body is modified i believe with carbon fibre parts, the frame has aluminium subframes attached to extended the wheelbase but did they really change the roof too?
Greenhouse makes it look like a London taxi. 😢 should have a lower roof line to go with the widened proportions, but I guess the money ran out. In the end chassis and performance numbers should make this amazing!! Cant wait to hear more from this legendary teams first commercial stab.

Als Evo 1 Besitzer kann ich nur sagen, dass das Auto bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten optisch gut gelungen ist. Man erkennt sofort den 190er wieder, das ist die Hauptsache... Beim Heckflügel wurden keine Experimente gemacht, der sieht Top aus.... Auch die Stoßfänger und Saccobretter finde ich sehr gelungen. Die Radlaufverbreiterungen hätten einen Tick schmaler sein können und ich hätte ihm rundherum 19" verpasst.
Und die 2 Striche auf den Frontblinkern gefallen mir auch irgendwie nicht so.
Die Compomotive Felgen sehen top aus, die würde ich auch so fahren!
Was das Antriebskonzept betrifft.... Ja das war sicher keine leichte Entscheidung, wir hätten uns optional ja einen handgeschalteten 4 Zylinder wünschen können? Mit Flachschieber.... Um die vorgeschriebenen Abgasnormen einzuhalten, hat man halt den V6 genommen. Das verursacht bei mir irgendwie Wehmut.
Naja es kann mir egal sein, werde mir den HWA Evo sowieso nie leisten können und bin froh, gerade noch einen Evo 1 bekommen zu haben ❤.
Ich finde trotzdem die Leistung von HWA mega. Schade dass soche Autos für den kleinen Mann unerreichbar bleiben.... Hätte ich das Geld, ich würde den HWA trotzdem kaufen ❤

Sounds like OM603 on idle :) Design is too extreme for my taste, i always like the 190's, wish there were station wagons of it.

Its not. That Model was allready delivered with an i6 diesel engine. Therefore the m256 should easily fit

It is rechnically a masterpiece but I prefer the proportions of the original. Clearly they have made a more track focused Evo II but, maybe, I would prefer a more refined road car.
