My guess is that, they removed Cunning hare involvement so it would make more sense for them not showing up in the animated cutscenes, easier to remove ingame dialogue over changing the animated cutscenes
ngl they should have kept it because later in the story nicole talks about how we might see victoria housekeeping as more professional and become disconnected with them, keeping this in would really show that nicole really cares about her relationship with phaethon
I don't get how this makes any more money than before. They just retconned something. If anything it cost them to do work they didn't use rather than wait in case they needed to do a retcon.

The TV thing is cool tho. Conveys the non-euclidian-ness of the hollow with levels and zoom arounds.
