I thought the same thing about you keeping the Christmas decorations. There is no way some of those decorations would work at that house. I do recommend holding onto them until you are sure they aren't working with your new space. Halloween is going to look different, too. I love your house and love what you are doing with it.❤
Hey Angie! I wanted to share some fire building tips with you!! If you take your dryer lint, it is really flammable! You need LOTS of very tiny and very dry twigs, or you can do shavings from the logs you already have. Stack lots of kindling on top of the dryer lint and add some slightly larger sticks (but still pretty small, maybe the thickness of the size of your finger). I tend to do a little teepee on the inside of a couple of logs. Once you light the dryer lint, you could blow on the pile a little bit so the kindling catches fire. And then once the slightly bigger sticks light up, you can slowly add bigger ones, which should catch flame and then light the bigger logs. I hope this helps!!
Just be careful with the heaters and don’t leave them on unattended like when you’re not home etc…cause I’ve heard of fires from them. Also they take up a lot of electricity. I usually leave the heater off and just turn on the flame animation instead for ambience 😊

The furniture is looking great. A bigger kitchen would be nice and I know you plan on being living there forever but if you ever found yourself changing your mind, for resale purposes, I’d keep a place for a dining table b/c others might not want to have their only table on the porch. Plus it’s a walk to get from the kitchen to the porch for most people as far as practicality. The porch is awesome and so versatile, you could always change the sofa toward the fireplace with a chair on each side. The basement paint job look so good.

I’m not sure on what style of Christmas decorations you may want for your tree, but there is a restaurant in U.S. called Cracker Barrel that sells decorations this time of year. They have a country, woodland, ranch vibe. Little woodland creatures, owls, sleighs, etc. to hang on your tree.
Watching from the UK and I love seeing all that snow! And the fact you can still go out and about with all that snow as well, we get the tiniest bit and can't get anywhere lol
