That could be something I could try adapting as well, if I ever wanted to make a sequel to this in that case, considering this video was originally going to include a segment in RFTA before I thought of the other ideas rooted in Turnabout Goodbyes.

As alegria said, it's probably since they changed writers and the actual meaning of the original black lock will most likely never be revealed. I do wonder how much of Edgeworth's memory loss was from the lack of oxygen and how much was his repression. Iirc he passed out very soon after throwing the gun, maybe from exertion, but if that's true then he remembers a surprising amount.

I think it may be a mix of the two, considering that the memories he did have were fuzzy due to the oxygen deprivation, but also so traumatizing that his subconscious most likely took what he could remember to make it into the form of a nightmare to try and repress it as much as possible. At least, that makes the most sense to me.

Magatamas, plus pesenting profiles as well, are things I'm really glad were introduced but you kind of miss them a little when you revisit the first game. Imagine the "ooooh what's gonna happen" feeling while hovering over Von Karma's profile in Turnabout Goodbyes, or being met with Lana's absolute monsters of psyche locks, and watching them shatter one by one when you dig into the truth of Gant's blackmail. That assumes Maya would let Phoenix keep the magatama after she leaves for training though. If it's a spare, she'd totally let him have it to remember her by while she's away
Very true! The weird thing about presenting profiles is that it’s only in JFA and T&T, because then it’s unfortunately taken out of the Investigations games AND the Apollo Justice trilogy…at least Psyche-Locks come back, though, albeit a bit nerfed.

There's a moment at the very end of Rise from the Ashes's final investigation that... looking back, seemed like a Psyche-Lock segment before Psyche-Locks could be seen. I want to see the final Lana conversation adapted into a Psyche-Lock sequence.
Neat video! If I could offer any advice, I'd probably speed the dialogue of the text up more. It feels kinda slow at times, the text is a little faster in the usual games so it feels like someone actually talking at a normal pace.

In hindsight, I probably should’ve used black Psyche-Locks, but I didn’t fully understand how they worked yet since I hadn’t gotten to the right part in DD to have an understanding of them, so I just used red ones to be safe in case I misused them.
I keep cringing with your repeated description of the magatama as a "lie detector". It detects when people hold secrets within their hearts they're afraid are in threat of getting out. The difference is subtle but important. It wouldn't activate if someone who is really short claimed they're really tall.
Oh, well, apologies. It was the best and shortest description I thought would get the point across enough, though I suppose I should’ve reworded it. I’m not quite sure why I kept using that descriptor, if I’m being honest. So apologies again.

Kinda. It kinda doesn’t really matter when they are introduced.
