The Redneck Rocket Ship is a new rock racing buggy from Crane Axle and Wide Open Design. The buggy was designed and built by Adam Woodlee and his crew and is finally ready to compete. They have created this masterpiece for rock racing, hill climbing, trail riding, and the testing of new products that are developed at Wide Open Design and Crane Axle.

From a fan perspective and watching from MadRams channel for years now I think it's pretty obvious rock bouncers should have never bounced. Suspension that works and the difference that makes is pretty amazing to watch. I think a lot of this can be some of the Ultra 4 influence on the sport. I also think TC brought this to the forefront of the rock racer suspension design. The unfortunate drawback to these buggies is of course the expense. Rigs like the one above and TCs I know are prohibitively expensive for most owners to buy or even build. Great video as usual MadRam and I look forward to this buggy competing with TC. At least I hope it does. Thanks to anyone that reads this rambletron.
You are exactly right man. They plan on racing this buggy a lot so we are going to see how it does for sure!! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel
MRBLACK947 Yeah, good to see some motion ratio on the shocks finally.
Nice buggy and Great job in the description with the part list.
Best customer service in the business! Nice buggy Adam
Absolutely amazing engineering
Excellent Video. Great Job!!
Great ideal use right parts easy to get
Fantastic design
Buggy is bad ass and its gonna hurt some feelings!!💯
Looks sounds good
Some of the newer buggies are lower with more lower reminding me of the formula offroad guys
Beautiful! I'm writing a letter to Santa Claus, i desperately need need one.
@RIDEROFTHESTORM 5150 😆 I always get socks. Imagine waking up with that thing in the garage!
Daniel Wright my too I will writing a letter to Santa 🎅🏻🤶
awesome buggy
Cool, thanks
Sounds alot like the Rat Rod buggy!
Love this buggy
That was a whole lotta video for just seein 15 seconds of it in action at the end... but yeah nice rock bouncer~
What's the cost to build a sister buggy?
Beast I love it amazing job 🙏
Very cool.
These are AMAZING works of art, so much so that you'd never want to get them dirty!......Naaah, only kidding.
Wish I could just mail you a check and have you build me one! Gotta pick up some lotto tickets I suppose!
What a bad ass rig. I bet that cost 150k or so. Boy does it sound good too. An ol boy can drive. Bet that's a good partnership.
Nice but won't beat outlaw as my favourite lol
I don't see anything out of the norm with this man's "heels" but apparently they are big ones....😁 Nice rig for sure though.
What happen to that rear engine buggy u had with a Connecting rod hanging out the oil pan
Woodlee sold it several years ago
Boa noite tudo bem, tenho interesse em comprar , qual é o valor ? E se é possível mandar para o Brasil
Why not run a 12 volt hydro boost ?
Very nice 👍🏻
Good afternoon, I am from Brazil and I liked your projects, I would like to know if you only sell 3D PDF projects so that I can build the chassis here?
If you contact Wide Open Design they may can help you out. Give them a call or email them.
@@MadRam11 Would you kindly give me the email and WhatsApp number. thank
l like it👍👍👍
If I have to ask is it to expensive
Cool rig, Wes drives this buggy?
Yes, Wes owns the motors and transmissions used, he usually goes with cheaper LS's, and puts a super charger on it.
Красиво!
So who owns this bouncer Wes or wide open design
WOD, but the motors used are Keans.
What's a unit like that cost?
100k
Перевод бы!
Very similar to the busted knuckle riout chassis
Obviously you must be a new fan based off your questions. But I can assure you Wide Open Design didn’t copy Busted Knuckle. Wide Open Design has been around way longer than Busted has. You might want to do some research before you make that bold claim. As far as who owns the buggy. It belongs to wide open Design. Wes is just the driver and he owns the engine and transmission.
Thank you for the info
@@robertabney3533 If you saw Gold Rush or Bad Influence side by with the Rocketship you would see the difference, this is much lower and a little wider than the Riot.
it is a pity that without translation into Russian :( Жаль что без перевода на Русский :(
ok how much $$$ ?
I've wondered what a cost estimate would be too. My guess = ~$110,000 for major components without labor to design, finish, and assemble:
Winch = 1,800
Axles = 28,000
Steering = 5,300
Shocks/bump stops = 10,000
Engine = 15,000 (middle of the road guess)
Transmission = 5,500
Transfer case = 3,800
Link bars = 1,750
Seats = 2,500
Trailing arms = 12,000 (material and machine time estimate)
Sway bar = 700
Radiator = 700
Wheels and tires = 8,000
Chassis = 6,000 (basic price for generic)
Miscellaneous budget other pieces and parts = 10,000
Bad Ass!
Can I buy this buggy as shown??
Call wide open design and talk to them. Wideopendesign.com
Yes, he emphasized that in the video.
Dope!
I saw your first comment, and I will say that Wide Open Design has been around way longer than Busted Knuckle. So you can take it how you want
@@MadRam11 yeah it didn't take long looking at it to figure it out. Gotta admit the designs between the 2 are similar. Bouncing is getting like nascar. Big builders going head to head all weekend. Makes for some damn good events!
@@MadRam11 no hate. That's a weak mans job. They're getting more badass with every season.
Looks great, top notch company. Who gonna be the wheel man?
Wes
Uh Oh... Will Tim be challenged?
This buggy has been out for a while, Wes is an awesome driver but he had a pretty serious accident that unfortunately set him back this year. Hopefully we will see him again in 2022.
Badass I do electrical I like hiding the wiring inside the tubes buggy looks clean I need a frame before I die I busted it all my life probably started too early killed my knees but to ride around with my son and leave him behind something cool I lost my uncle last week bury him this Wensday he owned jaramillos plumbing socorro nm .lifes to short..
