You likely won't see this, but you were a reason why my old Destiny raiding friend and I stuck around for the long run. We sadly never got to attend a Lunar Con but you were a huge inspiration for us both, your raiding videos definitely helped in reigniting a desire to raid in our old hearts, it's like we never left Destiny and never grew old again.
This is admittedly cheesey of me to say, but thank you for allowing him and I to remain raiding friends to this day. It's nice to remain with someone I've been playing with since my freshman year of highschool
Shen I just want you to know that you were the reason I got this game, and got to be part of this wonderful community. Watching you just have a blast with your friends in your titan savage video made something click in me that wanted that community and if it weren't for you I wouldn't be playing this wonderful game.
A dear friend of mine I had met back in Heavensward joined my static near the end of Shadowbringers. He was so very excited to play reaper when Endwalker released. I unfortunately lost him to a tragic accident a few months before the release. One of my fondest memories was clearing the first raid tier on content as a reaper in his memory. I really wanted to make him proud. That moment will be with me for the rest of my life.

There were so many moments I could have talked about, but I've got the heart of a raider so those are always closest to me, especially being there to help others clear.

I've always wanted to do ultimates in XIV but I have cerebral palsy which always makes me end up backing down because I psych myself out thinking I won't be able to handle that level of gameplay. "What happens if I mindlock from the stress? What happens if my hand twitches causes wipes because it wastes an oGCD heal?" those kind of things. Hearing from someone who has had a similar experience yet has managed to not only overcome it but also go on to do _the_ hardest things in the game has given me reason to think about giving it a proper try.

Man I feel like I missed out on something absolutely beautiful! This was an amazing video and I can't wait to see all the amazing things we all get to experience together in the future!
As for my impactful moment. It would have to be when I held my first lore panel at Lunarcon. Seeing everyone lined up outside that tiny house to listen and discuss lore together brought a tear to my eye. It was the moment I realized that FFXIV did have more lore potential than the RUclips algorithm gives it credit for.

Endwalker got me into this game, so my entire journey feels like an Endwalker Memory. But the most impactful had to be the moment I changed to a girl character and heard one of the characters call me “Her.” I had changed genders as a way to experiment, but the very first time Y’shtola called me “Her,” I nearly broke down crying.

This was a really a very good and well edited video Rinon. Something needed after the so many "'i'm quitting" videos there are out there. We still love FFXIV despite is weird choises on postEW. I really, really hope for DT to be a banger.

My most cherished memory from Endwalker was doing the MSQ alongside my sister through Discord, just the two of us. I'm currently abroad, away from home, and the game brought us together like nothing else could have, and no matter what small issues I might have had with the expansion, I'll always remember and treasure Endwalker for that experience I got to share with my big sis.
My moment I will always remember is when midgarsormer spoke to us on the walk to the dead ends. "Strong art tho mortal" it was like he was talking to me personally after everything I went through since arr in real life. Losing my mother my job my grandmother my best friend. This game was there for me through it all and midgarsormer just sent me over the edge crying. And finally getting a bahamut mount was the icing on the cake. What I'm looking forward to in dawntrail is the new crafting recipes new gatherable items new ores leathers gems jewels etc, just can't wait.
Thanks Misshapen Chair for having a based and grounded take as per usual.
I'm not getting too hyped for DT in advance because it has a *lot* to prove to me both gameplay and storywise and I can't be disappointed if I set my expectations to rock bottom...hopefully.

17:54 Every fisher watching this video (myself included) held their breath to hear which ones were called out as the nightmares or uncaught fish, and then said "Yeah, eff that fish" as they were listed in this section. Big Fish was my big project for 2023. I had them all until 6.55 (still working on Sidereal Whale). Woops' comment on setting alarms at weird hours of the night is Highly Relatable.

My stand out moment is clearing BA for the first time. I spent the three years working towards it, and was convinced I wasn’t a good enough player to get it done. The feeling of pure relief and joy knowing I got the mount but also proved I can play XIV well genuinely had me in tears.
While I would've loved to be a part of this, this is a fantastic video Rinon. Adding my own memories to this mix, I think personally one of my favorite memories of this expansion was finally clearing DSR. That fight took me a little over 2 months to clear and the time it took was worth it in the end. Regardless this was a perfect video to do for bringing the community together to give a sendoff to this expansion. Can't wait to see what you do for Dawntrail going forward!

Love the video! It's really fun to see what moments stick with people and how varied they are. I only started playing after EW came out and while there are many moments I'll never forget (like the abject horror and fear I felt during In From the Dark!) but there's one truly special moment for me:
I spent months watching my friend play all of the MSQ, asking them what I missed (confused about any of the context tbh), and getting to watch while they finished the EW MSQ, credits included. And then deciding to finally download the game myself that night and getting to experience all of FFXIV with my own character.
On a related note, I tried to get the free trial, but after downloading it for hours, I found out that because I was part of the closed beta for FFXIV 1.0 in 2010, I couldn't actually play the free trial, so I spent the next 3 hours downloading the paid version on the game.
Great video! Loved all the emotions put into this from you and other creators. Definitely the most wonderful moment was going through Endwalker with my wife who literally caught up right before it came out. Reacting together, watching the conclusion of many stories and seeing her grow to love the game I started years ago was just super exciting.

This was a great video. Favorite Endwalker: getting turned into a frog, and the fight with Anima. Most looking forward to dye channels, and exploring a whole new region in DawnTrail. Already putting together/redesigning some of my glamour plates on a couple characters

It's honestly nice to see many content creators sharing the same views I did, a few saying they improved in EW and many saying they did their first raid tiers. I honestly have only done the last of the three, I'm still doing it, but it's going so well and I'm having fun. I've seen myself stop "just playing the game" to get through and go do other things and now I'm challenging myself more and more and honestly? I'm excited for more.

Ive gotten into the game about 15 months ago, and its been a journey for sure.
Highlights were the omega raids, since im a big fan of FF6 and FF5, the references there were just a perfect treat.
It took a while for me to really feel attached to the characters, but the biggest moment that almost broke me was Urianger talking to Moenbryda's parents.
Something about a man carrying something so heavy for so long and being face to face with her parents hit me hard.
This man needs all the hugs in the world.

Are you planning on doing more documentary style videos like you did for DSR and TOP? If so, I'd LOVE to see you go into the Abyssos raid as a whole, such as the lead up to the world first racing, the fights, the mess that was p8 week 1, and how the Rinon/Scripe strat was made for p8s. Would be cool to hear your side of the story, especially for the creation of that strat.

I feel like a lot of people have their grievances with certain things in FFXIV, and that's valid and has its place, but we definitely have a tendency to let the negative be the only thing we remember rather than those positive experiences and memories that are most worth keeping!
Honestly, one of the things I love the most about Endwalker is how clearly the English localizers hit their stride. Shadowbringers is a step above what came before it, but Endwalker's localization is truly some of the best and most consistently resonant adaptation I've ever experienced. From beautiful lines about loss and hope to gremlin tidbits like the "Hewwo?" interaction in Elpis, they nailed it.
My personal memory from Endwalker is teaming up with a friend to make Roevember a real community event that reached people all around the world across all languages. Our tiny little corner of the community really has such great creators in it.
I love this so much!! As a new player (playing for about a year) it kinda sucks to see lots of content creators complaining about the game while I am having the time of my life haha. I get that it's different if you've been playing a long time, but it is really cool to see people talking about what they love this time!!! Thank you for making this ❤

Great video again Rin. My personal favorite moment is probably just raiding in general. I had taken a break from MMO raiding in general and this expansion was my first time raiding in Final Fantasy and it's such a unique experience from other MMOs I've played.
As Meteion said: "There was never a single answer". Never a better proof of that than this video. A lovely video and thank you for contacting so many content creators and covering so many potential endgames and the incredible variety of the playerbase. And mentioning the Oceania servers too! Memorable moments? Besides the incredible MSQ story of course, it would be doing the 6.1 dungeon for the first time with my FC and all falling about laughing over the spinning mechanic...

I am 100% behind Chair's take. The best parts of the game are interacting with other people and I too find it difficult to get hyped about something no one knows the mechanics of.
My personal favorite part of Endwalker was Elpis. The visuals, the relatable emotional turmoil, being a familiar instead of the WoL... it all just hit perfectly for me.

endwalker was such a special experience for me. i was in a really bad place in life when it released, having been kicked out of my home and recently recovered from being suicidal. i was aimless, not knowing what to do with myself or what i wanted in life.
the endwalker story broke my heart and lovingly sewed it back together. it was *exactly* what i needed at that time. it gave me a completely different outlook on life. the scene where you talk to venat about adventuring, emet-selch telling you where to travel next, and that last scene with meteion especially had me sobbing. in that moment, i was meteion, looking back over my journey in the game and in my life, realizing what i was here for.
i'm in a much better place now thanks to this game. final fantasy 14 completely changed my life, and i think it's the most meaningful story i've ever taken part in. thank you, yoshi-p.

My personal hope for the end of Endwalker (hah) and the new start in Dawntrail is to get around to finally getting MSQ done. I am end game, I am caught up on the MSQ, however I don't know whats going on half the time, or what any of the callbacks mean before like... halfway through Shadowbringers.
I didn't even know who the Crystal Exarch was when his reveal happened (I know now obviously. and he is a good boy)... so I want to rectify that, and possibly stream or make content out of it cuz it feels too lonely just sitting in my room staring at a screen in silence for countless hours progressing MSQ.
I will say I am quite looking forward to whats going to happen in the new raid series, and it will be the first time I ever hit it day one blind prog.
My answer is right now. I just started DSR and its been my goal to start doing Ultimates since I started playing this game. It was rough going at first as someone with zero experience and I was honestly about to just take a break until Dawntrail. Then I watched your video on DSR and it just lit a fire in me. I went and finished UWU in PF and managed to find a great group of people to do DSR with. Have had more fun in these last couple weeks than the 2 years I've been playing combined. Extremely excited for the future, my DSR clear, and TEA afterwards!

I've been very late to the party and only finished the MSQ 2 weeks ago. I managed to hold back tears for the whole expansion, but the think that pushed me over the edge was Tataru's "Welcome Home" when the ship gets in the port. This felt so..genuine.

What a great idea for a video! Seeing all these amazing people who make content I love for this game that has become very special to me over the last year, I couldn't help but cry a little. This is the perfect counterbalance to so many negative videos about Endwalker that have been popular of late. Endwalker was my first expansion, and it will always be special to me for that.
this is an awesome video! i feel like there’s so much pessimism going around the community right now because of the long wait for dawntrail, and this video is a great reminder that this is only a temporary lull in a game that can really only go upwards from here.
Interesting to hear everyone's story! I know its not easy wrangling up creators for a project this massive. Would love to see a sequel in the future to hear from creators you may have missed or not had the chance to get to for next expansion. Midnababy, Perl, Sneerful, Eiya, and Marissaemmaa are some that come to mind who are super fun to watch and have some fantasic communities surrounding them 👌
I've struggled with depression, so the Endsinger's song of oblivion resonated with me, but at the same time there was a light in me that knew to push through because life did have a meaning, despite or even because of the pain. So when I saw Venat stumbling though the darkness, covered in blood and trembling in pain, fighting still for hope everlasting... I had to log off in the midst of the Endless Queue. I needed to sit with my feelings for the rest of the day before I could continue.
So when I saw Venat again, one look in the eye was enough for me. We both knew the Answer deep in our hearts.
Brian Ricardo is the actual GOAT. He's one of my favorite streamers from last year. Honestly the nicest dude you will ever see. My boy deserves the world.
Endwalker is a bit bittersweet for me, just as the main arc ended, it came the end of many of my longtime raiding buddies playing (it was already rare to see them outside of raid logging), since many were getting too busy, after having been playing together since 2013 and meeting them because of Coils. I've slowly started to make a new group of friends, but I'll forever miss my old friends and my Coil days with them.
See you all in dawntrail!! I'll be hitting those gathering nodes and hopping on early patch crafting/gathering as soon as I can, myself
Misshapen Chair just taking over suddenly really surprised me. Love his videos, xiv or not, so seeing him get a little recognition is nice!
As for my personal best Endwalker moment that has to be grinding all of bozja after knocking it initially (since I still had msq to go through) and getting all the relics from start to finish in about 3 months. Not exactly a big achievement but I had a crapload of fun doing that content and seeing familiar names come by every so often. Don't think I would do it again as those Duels were a pain in the ass but I got the mount and that's all that matters.
As of writing this, I am on The Aitiascope and waiting for my friends to catch up to run it as a 4 man. This build up time between EW and DT is my first experience with a brand new expansion and this story has legitimately blown me out of the water
my personal favorite endwalker moment was clearing my first on content savage tier with my static. We started at the end of shadowbringers going through all the Eden raids with full training wheels, no ilvl syncing, as much echo as possible. I was really nervous as to whether or not we had it in us to prog through all the fights without all the crutches we had before, and not only did we succeed, we're still raiding together. While P8S put us through the wringer and was a much harder fight, clearing P4S together was incredibly validating and made us feel like we could tackle just about anything
we haven't done an ultimate together yet, but perhaps that will be our crowning Dawntrail moment
Wonderful video by the way. The community has been pretty down on Endwalker recently and while there is definitely fair criticism to make, its good to remember the positives and joy that it brought us.

This is so nice, seeing fellow creators talk about their path in EW. Not gonna make a long winded comment, but playing during the patch cycle on Endwalker made me shift my content to majority FFXIV, to the point that not even my painting streams are safe. I can't wait to share Dawntrail (and Pictomancy) with all these lovely folks and more. ^^
My moment was hearing Welcome to Our Town in Bestways Burrow, the home of the Loporrits. FFIV was the first RPG I ever played, and it blew my little mind. I never imagined almost thirty years later I would hear it in another Final Fantasy game I love. I felt 8-years-old again for the briefest of moments. It was like my whole life came full circle.

One of my most hyped Endwalker moments MSQ wise was the Endsinger trial. It felt like to climactic second to final episode to an long running anime, with the opening theme playing in the background as you're beating up the big bad, only for the true last episode to keep the music going as you square off against your rival and primary antagonist Zenos. It just felt so good, I dont mind doing it again and again on alts.
Gameplay wise, clearing my first ultimate last week with my wife and my friends. The sheet hype and adrenaline rush watching the Ultima Weapon go down for good was second to none, with TeA coming soon.
I played it to see why it was so popular. Just went through the story and it was good. Never had a chance to find out how the community was tho
I'm no content creator, but I want to highlight some of my best memories of Endwalker.
I started the game in August 2021, at the end of Shadowbringers, with my wife, in the Chaos DC in Europe. Endwalker was our first real expansion to get into all the content this game has to offer. We wanted to get into Savage raiding, and when we were finally ready, we started to look for a static. It was surprising that we got a group pretty fast, but that group didn't last long. During our first day in P3S, after about an hour of tries, caster (who turned out to be a an elitist) broke his silence and said there were three of us in the group that shouldn't even play Savage, and he left and took half the group with him, the half that had previous experience on Savage while the rest of us were first timers. So, back to recruiting. We managed to get a full static again, and it is still alive. We became so close as friends, that we decided to move into the new Phantom server and establish our own Free Company. We've also met in flesh twice now, and are planning to do it again. This is my best memory in the social side. A failed static led to a static where everyone can be as themselves and where we love to have fun in everything we do in this game, and all the way into a Free Company.
I'm someone who rarely cries while playing game stories, but Final Fantasy XIV, and other Final Fantasies as well, have managed to break me several times. The storytelling is out of this world. Finishing Endwalker story was a moment I will never forget. It gave me a new look on life in general. It was through Endwalker that I finally understood the lyrics of Answers, especially the last verse. "In the same fleeting moment, thou must live, die and know." Now I look and see that our lives really are a fleeting moment, and in that fleeting moment, we must live and die, and in between, know our answer to the question of life.
I'm a Paladin main, and for Paladin to be the mascot job of Endwalker, is something I cherish. I can hardly wait for Dawntrail. I'm excited about the story, about Viper especially and all the new Savage tier and Field Operation... Well to be honest, there's not a thing I don't look forward to in Dawntrail.

Man, the moment that really caught me in tears and made me realize why I love this game (despite the MANY issues it has as Rinon has discussed in previous videos, issues that I myself strongly and passionately agree with) is probably when Venat spoke to me on the balcony:
"Has your journey been good? Has it been worthwhile?"
Had me sit back a moment and reminisce about the things I went through to get that far. Exciting battles faced, struggles overcome, self-improvement, challenges completed, chill moments in Limsa... All fantastic. But the by far most important reason why I love FFXIV is the good people of this community and friends that I met on the way. Coming from toxic game communities like Overwatch and League of Legends, entering this game has been such pure pleasure. You can actually talk to people in here without them becoming upset about wasting your time or immediately being hit by "fk u". It is by far one of the best, most respectful communities out of all game communities out there.
I'm so happy to have see this video. Made me cry so much. The friends we all made with ever lasting friendships. Even if we are all seperated. We all have this game and the legendary God Yosi P to thank for the last 10 years!

I'm a relatively new player (a little bit over a year and just starting EW), and I love seeing the love of the community for the game as well as the support they give to each other in videos like this. :D I hope that someday, I'd be able to do the high difficulty Raids.
What a treasure of a video. I had the biggest, stupidest, goofy grin the whole time. A true love letter to Endwalker and FFXIV in general. Wonderfully done.
My best memory is after having had cleared Endwalker and being a little frustrated with being a healer at the time and trying reaper for fun, my friend recommended me Bard based on me mentioning that I liked the support Reaper gave despite being DPS. Bard has been my go to since, absolutely fav job by far.
Another fond one is meeting two people who are super fun to play with, we are helping one of them through shadowbringers right now.
Looking forward to what Bard receives for upgrades, and looking forward to the msq with friends.

I've had so many fun moments starting ffxiv pretty much as soon as they allowed free trial accounts to be created after EW, with quite possibly the best being catching up to current patch and being a part of the community hype watching live letters and playing new stuff day 1 - it's always great to be excited and surrounded by people equally excited. But maybe I need to get on the Big Fish, sounds like that is infinite dopamine.
At the very end of 6.0 back in the Rising Stones, Thancred asks you "Are you glad you joined the Scions?" Endwalker was my first expansion and so I think back on that question all the time. I've had so many amazing experiences, people, and positivity brought into my life because of FFXIV and Endwalker. And it was all because I got hooked on the story and the Scions when I first started playing. I was simply trying the game out with no intention of staying but ended up finding a new home and family of friends I can't go without.❤
My favorite moment was quite recent actually. I was able to clear the whole of Pandaemonium Savage. I never thought I would even think about raiding in this game, but I took the time and effort to say "Hey, I did that," and feel like I came a long way from where I started. Looking forward to Arcadion in Dawntrail!
Amazing video, and I feel like I have to share my own moment, I started playing FFXIV in endwalker so i didn’t have a history with it, but I picked it up in a really dark time with a few friends and played from ARR through stormblood then lost traction, and lost the friends I played with. I picked it up a bit with a small group and got through storm blood post quest. Then a few years later I had new friends who eventually got a large group into it, some long time FFXIV and MMO players, some long time WoW players starting ffxiv, and some brand new mmo players, and me. And with them i beat shadowbringers, I loved it and it was great, then in a very strong unscripted moment, when i reached old sharlyan my old friend from the original group. The one who got me into the game, my best friend who dragged me into it who I had lost connection with and hadn’t talked to in years at that point had happened to be there, crafting. We talked, reconnected shared stories of lives digital and real, and we started talking again. So for the rest of endwalker all the dungeons were done with friends both old new and even newer, doing the final trial surrounded by all my good friends who made the game special for me in so many ways at so many times, i broke down in tears because of it. I love this game and can’t wait to enter dawntrail, my first expansion ill be here on launch for, with all my friends old and new together.

I played from the beginning to 6.2 last year in the span of about 3 months after quitting shortly before heavensword came out. For the most part, I played solo and just focused on doing the raids, hildibrand quests, GC recruitment, and MSQ with a bit of job/outfit grinding. I had a ton of fun and FF14 is currently my favorite Final Fantasy game! The thing I remember the most from it was when my party was fighting prime Midgardsommr and got it around 37% health with 2 tanks left. Those tanks miraculously managed to beat him! Other moments I recall fondly is Ardberts return at the boss with Emet-Selch, Amarot, meeting Hythlodaeus two times, meeting Venat, moments with Ryne, waking up to the returned light in shadowbringers, the "I'm fine" line from Lyna, etc.
Atm, I'm waiting for dawntrail to come out so I can play the rest of Endwalker and see if I'll replace Reaper for Viper.
I love that the game forces you into dungeons. Makes you become a better player.
Your videos have almost become a FF14 history channel since EW. I feel these will shine as time pass by and we are able to look back at these memories. Great work as always.
P.s: A lighthearted negative comments video may be amusing to give a balanced pov for future references.
My most cherished memories frok FF14 would have to be meetint my fiance in game when i first began, and then progressing through the entore game with her for years! Sadly, she passed away in January 2023 not too long after we got around to wrapping up endwalker. Its kind of hard to play these days, but when I do, I always think of her.
We took a lottle time to stop in the flower field in Ultima Thule and take screenshots before jumping into the final fight. I sometimes go up there and just sit and remember. Its my happy place.
There were so many great moments in EW, but The Walk will always be cemented in my memory. It was one of the things that took the series for me from being just a game I had a lot of fun with to being on par with my favorite books, the kind you would read again and again so you could relive the adventure. Thank you CBU3 for NG+ mode.
wow, so many people talking about clearing ultimates with friends. sounds like fun. just wish i could do it too
man watching people prog DSR was amazing. seeing woops & his team talk about all that though makes me really miss ferro's presence though.
I am most excited to experience the MSQ, the new areas, which look amazing and female Hrothgar. I have yet to do the newest set of MSQ so... yeah. I'm also quite excited about Viper actually. Might be my new main job, current one been Machinist.
My fondest memory from Endwalker... was the gathering of all (except Estinien) into my room and have a feast. What a wholesome moment. Also one of the defining moments was the fact that I FINALLY decided to do ALL the raids I had skipped on, reason been that one of the cutscenes would have been a bit different if I had done a specific raid. Still not confident enough to do Ultimates, though.
