    For a superstar of his caliber, he is always respectful and forthcoming when interviewed. Even at the lowest points in his life, he understood the public's interest in his life, and his responsibility to the game. I've never seen him act dismissively. When he agrees to talk, he cooperates with the media.
    Say what you will about his private life, but he's always been the consummate professional and a class act all the way. There's not too many among us who could withstand the scrutiny he has been subject to, and endured it with grace, humility, and with his head held high.

    • @hlfcoder7466
      @hlfcoder7466 8 месяцев назад +1

      Ya try talking to him in real life. I met him at a private course I worked at, and then followed him for 18 holes at the Players Championship in 2001. In both cases he was an absolute prick. Not necessarily to me, but to other people.
      I'm a huge fan of his game, but his personality is miserable. He exudes nothing but arrogance and superiority in private. I've met tons of PGA players and he's the worst one by far.
      Phil on the other hand is the anti-Tiger in that regard. Now THAT is a good guy. One of the nicest guys I've ever met.

    • @JCDofNYC
      @JCDofNYC 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@hlfcoder7466 ... And Phil has a ton of second place finishes to show for it.
      I'm just kidding. Phil seems like a decent guy. Tiger is probably so tired of people talking at him, he puts on the prick front to keep them at bay. I cannot imagine being famous. I think it would suck. A lot of folks think the adulation and cheers would be amazing, but think about you're having a crappy day for whatever reason and just want to grab a burger at a local restaurant and you are mobbed by "adoring fans" who just have to tell you how much they love you. After a very short while that must grow tiresome, and then annoying, and then infuriating.
      I'll never excuse rudeness, but I understand needing to keep the great unwashed at arm's length.

    I once met Romo. I was in my early 20’s at an AC/DC concert with my dad. We had box seats and he was very cryptic about what box we were sitting in and who all was going with us. So we got there about an hour early, and I had no idea what was to come. Half an hour later Tony walked into the suite and I immediately had to step outside to compose myself. I decided (as a naive and star struck 20-something) that my goal was to get drunk with Tony and leave a lasting impression but fleeting memory of the time he got wasted with that kid at AC/DC. So I asked him if he wanted a drink and he asked for a “crown and diet.” I found myself disappointed that the QB of americas team drank Diet Coke but he’s an athlete and all so I just poured it stiff and handed it to him. He made some smart ass comment about me trying to get him drunk (busted). So I decided to just sit back and drink and eat to my heart’s content alone. 30 minutes later, Jason Witten came into the box. The next thing I remembered was waking up on the couch of my parent’s living room with a Jimmy John’s wrapper on the floor, lettuce strewn across my chest, and my dog lying next to me belly-up. In my stupor, I asked my parents what the hell had happened. My dad told me, “you started taking tequila shots with Jason, ordered a gargantuan sub, passed out before you had a bite, and the dog ate the entire thing while you laid there. She somehow managed to leave the lettuce for you.” I legitimately have only had flashbacks of images implanted half by imagination, half by mind of me and Jason taking tequila shots, both our cheeks as red as tiger’s Sunday best. But that’s it. That’s what I have, and a hell of a story to go with it.
