Has anything ever happened that scared you while operating the ride? Not trying to get you in trouble here at all lol, I'm honestly just curious.. something about seeing this with the lights on (and especially the older version!) scares the HELL out of me. I love it with the lights off though 😁
Definitely less scary with the lights on. I can’t go on this ride. The few times I have, I get vertigo. When I come out I can’t walk straight & I’m spinning so bad I have to sit for an hour 😞
I don't like dark coasters due to motion sickness however with the lights on I think I would be OK as it seems reasonably tame as far as coasters go. Do you think having the lights on would help you?
Its not the entire ride, just the very end part. It looks like the ride had an emergency stop, and this car was close to the end of the track when it happened. (The video starts with the car getting a push start.)
I remember riding this once as a kid and never again. I remember not being able to see a thing and I kept feeling like I was going to fall out of the ride. I don’t think they ever went upside down but the drops and everything made me want to throw up. I hate roller coasters and not sure how I got suckered to go on it. The lines were quite long and I remember when waiting in line and looking up it looked like cookies were flying over us (were asteroids) and they were the other roller coasters. Never again

Space Mountain has been around for at least 35 years. That’s amazing that they still having it running.
In 2005 it reopened after 2 years of refurbishment where they replaced the track and trains. Although the layout remained the same.
I rode Space Mountain for the first time when I was 7 years old in 1976. I was scared. I didn’t do very well on that roller coaster.

God that track style has a REALLY uncanny similarity to B&M's... the spine doesn't bank during the turns, which is especially weird
