Crazy how seemingly ordinary(but still fun) this seems with the lights on compared to how mind blowing it feels/rides in the darkness
Because they actualy have fans that blow on you to make it seem like you’re going faster
I like it in the dark
Just goes to show how sometimes the simplest effects end up being the best!
space mountain was always a kiddie coaster. I hate roller coasters and rember riding this at 7 years old and not being scared
@@overnightclassic2that’s funny I still get scared of this ride haven’t gotten back since. But I will attempt it again just for my niece.
One of my favorites ever.. But lights on would take the fun away!! For me anyway lol
Melissa Gonzalez same 😂
When I rode space mountain, I was always aware of the beams and walkways and stuff being closer than I would have liked to my head. I couldn't really enjoy the ride, even though I knew I wasn't going to be decapitated, because it felt a bit too close for comfort. I feel validated in seeing that it was as close as I remember with the lights on.
Exactly!!! I always feel like my head was going to get ripped off I felt like ducking my head every time!
Wait how could you tell there were beams if it was dark?
@@vernorexia682 I could see their shadows in front of the star lights, I think, although it's been a while since I've been on it so I don't remember it perfectly
There's actually a coaster nerd term for this. Its called a head chopper. Adds to the sense of danger.
@@goldstarchoice oh cool! I love learning niche terminology
Finally a high quality video of Space Mountain with the Lights On.
It's one on Disneyland Paris?
@@aac3112Disney World In Florida USA
I like how it doubles as storage. Ground level you can see ladders and welding tanks just chilling.
I went on this when I was 6.. I thought I was actually in space
Pab2ito I would love to think that
Disney magic at work sons.
Eh_Dude lol
6?! I’m 10 and I’m too scared.
Sameeee
My parents made me ride this with them when I was a kid and I was terrified. I screamed until the glue that was holding my metal wire expander to my molars cracked. The expander then flew out of my mouth. I told my Mom what happened when I got off the ride and she didn't believe me until she looked herself. She would not stop laughing when she found it was actually missing. It's been 20 years since then... I wonder if it's still laying around somewhere under the tracks.
Probably been crushed already 😅
They cleaned it up
Probably swept up and trashed the night you lost it lol
i thought i remembered it being way more intense with the lights off..
it was
It’s because they have fans that blow on you to make it seem faster and when the lights are on it blows the illusion
Mhm
@@User71172 no wonder, i thought we were actually just going that fast
E
Im in the line for this as im typing this and now im not as scared because of this
Guys I think she died
SGOD Chrishum you think I died?
blackberry_ blues lol no I’m just joking
blackberry_ blues
How was it lol
@@blackberry_blues8203 was it scary ?
It’s also worth noting that the ride’s high-energy music, with its crazy violin runs played at 200 BPM, isn’t being pumped directly into our skulls.
I saw Space Mountain with the lights on one time in the early 90s when the ride broke down and we had to exit. That's what all those little walkways are for next to the track.
My daughter was scared because she thought it had big hills. Thanks for this! Now she’s ready to ride!
I thought it had bigger hills too can't wait to ride this with my kids
I was the same when I was kid. As an adult I conquered my fear and went on it and it was so cool!!! I am glad they have these videos to show people the ride before. My biggest fear has always been the anticipation and the building of the ride in my mind.
I first went on that ride when I was 7 years old in 1976 and that ride scared me. I went on it again in High School and I had a lot fun. I’m 54 now and I still like roller coasters but my riding days are over. I wouldn’t do very well on a fast roller coaster these days.
After watching this I feel better about going on space mountain, I was worried at first but when I saw what it was like it didn’t look that bad anymore
i literally thought it was a loop in the end of this lmao
I was always scared of going on this ride but now it doesn’t even seem scary bro
No because same I had to watch this before flying out to florida 😭
I don't care if it's small, it's one of the most fun coasters ever built. I'd love to get to ride it with the lights on one day.
It was the first rollercoaster I ever I rode on because rollercoasters always looked terrifying to me, it being in the dark for some reason made me feel less anxious. I absolutely love it, one of my favorite rides in the park.
Well they’re on permanently so now you have the chance to!
@@victoriacantrelle That was a hoax. Obviously they wouldnt do that
My parents took me on this when I was 6. It made me cry, so for a while after that their threat to me if I was bad was “we are going to go put you on Space Mountain!” 🤣🤣🤣. My parents..... God love em!
Lmao 😂
That's so funny 🤣
I just shared your comment with my daughter whom I took on it the day before she turned 7 (so, two days ago). She was nearly traumatized, so it made her feel better that Space Mountain made another 6-year-old cry.
@@jennifermahoney-sty2252 I nearly cried and I was 35...it's hard to brace the body for all that unanticipated jerking around.
As u should tho! I love my parents too lol. And my sister cried when she went with me here so now I threatened her that I would force her here if she behaves wrong 😂
I've lost count on how many times I have ridden this ride and it always drove me crazy while in the dark. Once I now see the lights on, I think, there's nothing to this.
Bro I go on it tmr I’m scared is it scary my anxiety is bad
@@tobin1142 I’m going in like 1 hiur
@@tobin1142 hour*
@@tobin1142 but I’m also scared 😅
@@hey3550 tbh it wasn’t even that bad
I was there two days ago, and ten years ago. It’s kinda cool to see it with the lights.
i was there last night
I regret sticking my hands outside of the ride now after watching this
細かいところまで丁寧に作りこんでいますね。素晴らしい作品です。
Why was the lights on? I'd pay to ride it with the lights on, but that's my engineering side kicking in.
I'd pay to ride it with the lights on too!
Just have someone break the ride down while you're inside of it. My family did it once accidentally and shut the ride down for like an hour
@@andrewschannel4259 You do realize you're paying to ride it with the lights off as well ;)
Probably my favorite ride of all time.
I always loved this ride as a kid. It was such a fun roller coaster 🎢
did the ride change in the pass years?
Great POV of Space Mountain
I actually thought this was 10x more intense, higher up, and did loops when the lights were off. But it’s actually just a casual roller coaster 😳😳
disney land paris has inversions - i believe this is from florida or california !
@@starjax5393 florida and california are cloned so this is one of those
paris does have inversion (i believe its got a corkscrew, sidewinder, and something else)
@@elijahrock3914 they're definitely *not* cloned. Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom has two tracks in a larger structure with mirrored layouts that are both different from the one at Disneyland.
Same with the Mummy Ride at Universal. Its intense in the dark but with the lights on, its a kiddie coaster.
The 8 dislikes are people who got kicked out
Never underestimate the speed of hyper space mountain
It could be a themed ride like this too, like Industrial Moon Mountain.
excited to go on this in december
This is one of the best rides at Disney 🎢
Thanks for sharing!
Nice with the lights on.
I rode this back in 2019 when we went to Disneyworld and it was so much fun definitely worth the 2 hour wait (went during Thanksgiving week) my aunt and mom screamed their heads off during this ride
It was too funny 😂😂😂😂
Looks like fun!
I swear idk why it felt more intense than what it actually is
One of the scariest roller coasters I've been on is a simulator. Thought I was going to break my neck. 😅
this is it.. when i was 10 i went on this ride and cried
Same
when you're little, this ride is the greatest thing to exist
That’s my favorite ride!!😍
It’s way over exaggerated on how jerky it is, it’s super smooth for how old it is, and the lift hills decorations never fail to impress me, I love the upside down space men
One of my favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom Park!
Discoveryland***
One of my fave till this day. I leave the seat in a litttee lose… No not a little , a lot ! lol 🤣 I leave it lose about 4 clicks before it touches my stomach. Hell of a ride 🤘🏽
Dont know why I’m watching this I’m still closing my eyes and holding on tight.
1:45:.. * Everyone dramatically hits their head on that one pole.. *
Oldest ride, longest line! Wooooooo!
It looks more fun this way
Deoxys 386 yes
Deoxys 386 no it doesn't
i’d love to ride it like that
Did anyone else have a fear of being decapitated when they first went on this?
Space mountain with the lights on is cool. I only had like a few rides with the lights on. It's crazy how close the track is. I'm so glad I'm a pass holder and live like a hour and a half from it. It's my favorite Disney coaster by the way.
It’s nice to see where you’re going with the lights on, but I personally prefer them off lol
@@lessismore8533 I forgot I even made this comment 4 years ago. Lol. But I respect your opinion on it. When it comes to the lights being off. It's fun like that as well because you don't know when the drop is coming.
What camera did you use? I was able to film space mountain like 15 years ago. They are much more strict with cameras on coasters now, unless you have Attractions Mag access? Pretty clear and steady shooting for such a jittery ride :]
I’m in line now
Bro I loved this ride it’s so fast
I'll keep reminding myself this isn't so bad (with the lights on) to get over the fear.
How did you get the lights on?? Just wondering because route people on it
I wish I could like this ride, but my cousins and I went to Disneyland together back in June and this was the first time I was gonna go on Space Mountain even tho I’ve been to Disneyland like a million times, but I went on this and I was so nauseous after I was seeing dots🤢🤢so sad I can’t enjoy it cause everyone loves it
Disneyland minus lights = state fair
Would love to see this with lights and holographic imagery of the cosmos (like the pillars of creation and such). Like that scene in Dr. Strange when he’s traveling through the different dimensions. 🤔
bro predicted guardiansv
This is the only Indoor coaster that's scarier with the lights on because of all the headchoppers.
i went on this when i was like 7 and it being the scariest ride ever and now I'm looking at it like really self
i thought the same and i went on it again yesterday and can confirm that it still traumatized me
@@sophiadecristofaro6941 BAHAHHA
I'm guessing there are hidden projectors because how on earth do they add the stuff for Halloween if the coaster is just in a big open room with the lights out and one of those LED's shining through pipes trick to create stars.
Space mountain is the best ride at magic kingdom. [I also have been on the ride and it was the BEST]
Anyone else held onto their phone thinking it would slip out of their pocket
Pro tip: bring a cross body bag
1:45:.. * Everyone Dramatically hits their head on the famous spotlight: “POLE.” *
Pole liked this comment :D
What part does it take your pic in?
The perfect roller coaster in my opinion. Enough scaffolding to help height phobes like me, fast but no stomach dropping inclines and a million billion times better than the Florida version.
This is the florida one haha
@@stuwatt1136yeah, this is the Florida one. A lot of people do like the California one better because it's smoother.
with lights on the path is predictable, lights off, fun
man i remember my picture on the ride is me pretending to be sleeping😂 i really miss living in orlando :(
Bro that’s it? I could’ve sworn I went upside down at one point
you’re probably thinking of the one the in Hollywood Studios
the one in Paris goes upside down
Are the lights still off for 2021??
Me and my fam are going on a trip to Disney World for 8 days in a SUITE! So, I am looking through some rides and this one seems epic!
how was it brother
I was on this yesterday lol
How did you get to go on the ride with the lights on
I want to visit it😎😎😎
This ride is 10,000 times more amazing with the lights off and star field on
Exactly!
is this Disney Orlando?? it’s so different to the one in Paris that one goes upside down, I thought they would’ve been the same
I went on this twice, first time when I was 8 and when it was still space mountain and second time when I was 11 and it had became Star Wars themed, both times I overreacted and was scared out of my skin but actually enjoyed the ride
I went on it it was fun
No but why does this ride feel so much more intense then it actually is
This ride never scared me because I never saw any of my surroundings when the lights were off.
How’d you get lights on?
Me and a friend went on this and he freaked, sounded like a wounded animal. People were so concerned that I don't think any enjoyed the ride.
This video doesn’t do the ride justice. In the dark it will feel like the fastest roller coaster you’ve ever ridden…
I rode this for the first time since i was 7 and it still made me feel dizzy (although the first time was the California version)
I wanna ride it like this it would help me get over my fear but y’know sense it won’t happen I won’t ride it TOO BAD I GIVE INTO MY FEAR
Everett Young although I often have a fear of coasters I found space mountain great. The lights are off so it doesn't feel that fast. It's disorienting but great because there's not that much light but you can still see the stars
@@kangarookicker6995 is it good? Im very scared and does it have big drops? Tell me everything
@@juliannealon-val184 its very fun. No sudden drops. At some point you get some speed but not mindbogglingly fast. It’s a very cool and mesmerising coaster. Don’t worry I almost backed out when I realised it was a proper roller coaster.
@@juliannealon-val184 I feel like the last drop at the end would really get me. everything else doesn't seem that bad. I am really bad when it comes to coasters though, pretty small drops give me panic attacks.
i’m terrified of roller coasters but i’m going to disney this summer and i kind of want to to this one because my friend wants to... should i ??!?!?!?)?
I'm guessing that Space Mountain at Disneyland is much faster than this one and this Space Mountain is a bit slower than I expected
Hi! Can I use this clip in a roller coaster video? I will give full credit.
What Space mountain is this so in which Disney Park?
Dude I got stuck on this ride TWICE
Was it a mistake?
Weird how I could handle this ride like it was nothing when I was 6, yet all these people went when they were about 8-10.
Is this space mountain at Hong Kong?
Is this at Disneyland California?
Nope Florida
Still won’t put my hands up don’t want to lose them
I doesnt make a looping??
I just noticed that there is some sort of second lifthill at the end of the ride somewhere near the unloading station, can someone reply to this message and tell me what it is for?
I don’t know for sure but if I had to guess it would probably be for the maintenance area
Do they do this for people who have seizures?
Same... 1996 6y.o
how do people get videos with the lights on?
Ask the technic chief worker Tom M or a colleque, maybe, they turn the lights on for a round or two.
It's loses what makes it good with the lights on
Great vid!!! So clean inside...
