Barkers best lines from this episode “why did you not bid 1 dollar on the prize 20 minutes ago” “Now let’s see if we can break the overbid record while all our viewers switch to a different channel”
Yeah, but it’s her own fault. One the second overbid, Phyllis had bid $899 (after having the privilege of bidding last), which was the lowest bid in that round (after someone else had bid $900). That is not a good bid, because you have to be exactly right to win. She should have bid $1 right then and there, and she would have won that item.
Most of the time, the moments he mentions are correct but miscalculated and misstated. In other words, the miscalculations and misstatements are false and not a fact. Depends on what he mentions.
I still love the TPIR, but Bob was the one and only. Drew is ok, but " Come on Down" as I called it when I was little was my childhood. Still one of my favorite gameshows of all time.
1:19-1:21 2:03-2:06 2:38-2:41 3:29-3:31 After that fourth overbid, Bob should've waved to everybody in the audience, say "Goodnight, everybody", and walk off the set.
Nowadays, if this would happen, they would probably edit out all of the “overbids” and show only the final round of bids on this item (so that they can finish the show in time for Young and the Restless). But I actually think it’s fun to watch the comedy of the process on these overbids.

If I was last bidder I would have taken a shot bidding one dollar on the second round. On the third round that last bidder should have gone for the the dollar bid and hope for the best.
There was an episode where a guy named Jose had big $999 after a previous contestant bid $1,000. Bob told him that was not a good bid, because the only way to win was to be exactly right (of course, we knew somebody was exactly right because of the bell sound). And he won with that $999 bid.
Don't understand Bob's sarcasm here. The fact that the contestants overbid four straight times reflects badly on the show more than on the contestants.

They really should have purposefully gone for a fifth overbid just to mess with Bob.
