Well done, you did really well, such a great time even if you didn't get a PB for the course. I haven't trained enough (2 months), but still managed to get 1 hour 10 minutes on the chip time, so I'm happy (a PB for me for a 10k). Going to run the Henham 10k in November, so a couple of months to try and improve a bit, going to try some low heart rate training, because I seemed to be maxed out most of the 10k today! Plus it was HOT!!! And yes, HILLS! And yes, also definitely over 10k... I have a Samsung Classic 4, and it said 6.3 miles!
It was good to meet you before the race. It was a bugger though wasnt it with the heat. Rose lane is always a breaker and then the very long slow grind up tombland onto castle mall. There was 8500 runners this year which i think made it the biggest so far. My garmin registered it as 6.32miles but i think a lot of that was the weaving in the crowds. Anyway. Well done on getting around on what felt like the hardest Run Norwich (well it felt like the hardest of the last 3 years)
@@SharaRuns i survived lol. was running with a knee injury (physio to find out what on wednesday). So i had a plan to try and beat my 54:03 pb, or atleast not fall behind my 2022 58:13 time. Finished in 57:13 so i wasn't over joyed but also not disappointed if that makes sense. I'm just hoping to be healed enough to run the Larkin Gowen half marathon in Norwich in november.
Well done Shara, you gave it a great go and the series has been fab, well done on documenting your journey to it. The pace pro can be annoying but there are a few features that you can use in it to make it less annoying. You can account for elevation of your add the actual race in there. You can also do negative splits too. The great south run is epic, but likely windy in Portsmouth. I’m doing a different 10k that day so unfortunately can’t do that one this year. Didn’t realise you are part of Fordys run club - thinking about joining too. Would you recommend?
Thank you. I definitely recommend joining the Fordy Runs group for the social aspect, if nothing else. They're an amazing bunch of supportive runners and there's now 60 running groups across the country, as well as a global virtual group. Thanks for the tips on Pace Pro, I did add the course details but I think the route has changed since I last did it in 2019 and they added more hills. Lol 😂. Perhaps we'll eventually catch up with each other at London Winter Run 2025? Hope all's going well for you. Take care.
Congratulations on getting it done Shara. Don't beat yourself up, navigating injury and training is very difficult but you still managed a good time. Did you put the course into pace pro before the race? It should adjust for hills rather than give equal pace. Anyways, a most enjoyable series, looking forward to see what's next. Ps. Congrats also to Brian. If I ever got close to that time it would be a very good day lol
@@TheRunningWhale thank you for your support. Yes, I added the course to Pace Pro but it wanted me to run too fast so I struggled to keep up with it. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Oh well. I'm not going to worry about it. It was a tough day but I got it done 👍🏻. Yes, Brian was 2nd in his age category so I think that was amazing.
Ah, your time was similar to mine. That was my 6th Run Norwich too. I found it tough. That's an amazing amount of parkruns, I'm only on number 43 but working on my Alphabeteer Challenge. In sure next year you'll smash that sub-60 at Norwich 👊🏻
@@SharaRuns thanks for the reply , i was doing well up to 8k , but i find that last 2k nearly impossible lol , i have a p.b at run norwich of 55.07 which i did in 2019 when i was in my prime doing 24 / 25 min parkruns , but have lost it over the last few years , now getting back to 26 / 27 min parkruns these days , if youre ever at eaton park , i would love it if you say hello , i usualy sit on the front benches near the bandstand , its called mad mikes corner , will introduce you to the guys , i saw that youre doing the alphabet thing , but if youre ever up there it wld be nice to say hello , good luck with your future runs , i have subscribed to your channel
@@michaelager2540 thanks so much for your comments. Yes, I'll let you know if I get up your way. I think that's Watton? My times have gotten slower too but we can work on it! Good luck for next year.

@@monkeytommo it was certainly a tough day at the office today! Congratulations on your time 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and best of luck for Henham 🤞🏻
Well done on your race Shara 🎉 nice to see you got some sunny weather. Most race videos I’ve seen recently have been pretty soggy 🌧️
@@racheld1844thank you. yes, we were so lucky, it didn't rain at all. If anything, it was a pretty warm run.
