- The controversy over alleged election fraud in Bridgeport took on a life of its own Friday. A public protest was held outside a public building. But then when FOX61 went inside in search of answers and accountability, access was restricted.
There’s a clarion call for transparency and accountability in Bridgeport. A call that's getting louder. “Joe’s gotta go! Joe’s gotta go!” chanted residents outside the Margaret Morton Government Center where a protest was held Friday.

Corruption to the highest level!!
Every oath breaker should be fired. PERIOD ! They raised their hands and swore to this so they could be hired. FIRE THEIR ASSES. Town needs a new mayor, too.
Whoa, a mainstream journalist actually doing real journalism 😮 Liked and Subbed! 👋
I wonder if the will be called "frauditor's"?
Looks like mainstream journalist took lessons from Long Island Audit.
SEVERAL of them! Outstanding!
Glad to see the mainstream news finally catching on.
If access is restricted, then tax funding needs to be "restricted"...
GOLD. Tired of these politicians lining their pockets and getting rich. Law abiding tax payers have had enough man.
This cop is acting like the doorman at a drug house, or you can say that he's the muscle at the door for a crime boss. Shameful indeed. We all appreciate the work you do, be safe messing with these criminals
From Wikipedia:
On March 19, 2003, Ganim was convicted of 16 federal counts: one count each of racketeering, extortion, racketeering conspiracy, and bribery; two counts of bribery conspiracy; eight counts of mail fraud, and two counts of filing a false tax return.
Ganim surrendered his law license upon conviction.[27] The charges arose from Ganim's "role in a six-year scheme to shake down city contractors for more than $500,000 in cash, meals, clothing, wine and home renovations."[28] In April 2003, two weeks after being convicted, Ganim resigned from office.
Ganim faced a possible sentence of up to 126 years, $500,000 in restitution, and $4 million in fines.[28] Federal prosecutors asked for a sentence of ten years and one month, while the defense asked for a sentence of no more than three years and ten months.[30] Testimonials seeking leniency were filed with the court on Ganim's behalf, including one from Cardinal Edward M. Egan of New York.[30] On July 1, 2003, U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton sentenced Ganim to nine years in prison and about $300,000 in fines and restitution, in addition to $175,000 that he had previously stipulated that he owed.[30]
Judge Arterton said that Ganim's crimes were "stuff that cynicism is made of" and determined by clear and convincing evidence that Ganim had "lied to the jury when he denied any knowledge of fee-splitting deals and other incriminating evidence."[30]
Ganim appealed, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld Ganim's convictions in December 2007.[31]
Ganim surrendered in September 2003 and served most of his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.[32][33] He unsuccessfully petitioned for a transfer to FCI Otisville in New York, to be with his family.[34] In 2009, Ganim was transferred to the FCI McKean prison camp in Pennsylvania.[33] Ganim then served the last seven months of his sentence at a halfway house in Hartford.[35] Ganim's sentence was reduced by a year for participating in a drug-treatment program.
After being released from prison, Ganim also sought restoration of his license to practice law. In 2012, a five-member panel of the State of Connecticut Grievance Committee recommended that Ganim's license be restored.[38] In September 2012, a three-judge panel of Connecticut Superior Court judges rejected the recommendation, writing that: "Allowing an applicant to be readmitted to the practice of law following a conviction on 16 counts of racketeering, conspiracy, extortion, mail fraud, bribery and filing false income tax returns without any apology, expression of remorse, or explanation, and with only a vague acceptance of an unspecified event, simply would set the bar for readmission too low in the state, and we are unwilling to do that."[39]
Ganim appealed to the Connecticut Supreme Court in 2014, which unanimously ruled against his effort to have his law license restored.[27][36] In 2017, Ganim applied to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut for permission to practice in that federal court without being readmitted to the Connecticut bar; these efforts were rebuffed by the court.[40] In 2021, Ganim again sought reinstatement of his license to practice law.
In May 2015, Ganim officially entered the race for mayor, filing paperwork to challenge incumbent Democrat Bill Finch as mayor of Bridgeport.[43] Ganim won the endorsement of the Bridgeport police union.[44] Ganim also won the key support of local clergy and the Democratic machine led by Democratic Town Committee chairman Mario Testa.[42][45]
During his campaign, Ganim promised to reduce taxes, lower crime by adding more police officers, and lower unemployment, which is high in Bridgeport.[2] He managed to persuade Edward Adams, a former FBI agent who helped convict Ganim on corruption charges, to support his campaign.[2] However, Michael Wolf, the FBI special agent-in-charge of Connecticut during the Ganim investigation, fired back with a letter published in the Connecticut Post saying that Adams was not the lead investigator in the Ganim case, and writing that "a mayor who swindled a city he was entrusted to govern, should not be given the opportunity to do it again."[50] Wolf called Ganim the "poster boy" of corrupt Connecticut politicians, a group that included former Governor John G. Rowland, former state Treasurer Paul J. Silvester, and former Bridgeport state Senator Ernest Newton II.[50]

Why are our police services available to provide a security company with assistance to a public building?.... They have to follow the guidelines that the security service sets?
Amato doesn’t understand the law and when and where he can’t enforce policies. Servants in CT and NY seem to be the least educated in this regard. Just because a security guard orders him to do something for a public building does not mean he needs to obey. Scary stuff.
Also, he doesn’t understand that if he threatens them with trespass/removal from building (minus a crime) it is his department who’s responsible. This is wild he said these things on camera with 100% confidence

The thought of the cop in Hawaii that stopped traffic and sent the traffic back into the fire causing those people’s demise. When do the people go hands on and physically move these order followers? We need to continue showing how little power and authority these people think that they have because of a badge and gun. Yes they have guns but do they have ultimate authority? They crumble when their superiors speak. They need retraining to understand who they work for.
we need a civil war so they understand we the people are done with bloodline crooked government
You know what gets me is how smog they are because they think nothing is going to ever happen to them. All said and done all these cops sooner or later will will be let go from their Department. Because none of the higher-ups are going to take any responsibility and they always get rid of the minions
I think we need to make it standard protocol for every cop in America to read aloud the Bill of Rights EVERY SINGIE DAY before they leave the station house, just to remind them of the oath they took, to protect the Constitution, not the government or whatever politician happens to be in power at the moment. These reporters should have gone ahead and made these cops either honor their oath and back down or arrest you and then sue them personally, their department and the city in federal court.
They know the laws....they know they can get away with violating the law so they do
Interpreting law/policy is the job of the court not the police. Why would you file a failed lawsuit against officers, instead of addressing the law/policy with the court? Do you want to be arrested to prove a point in court, instead of just going to court? The odds are very good, unless you’re a legal professional, that your understanding of rights/law is flawed and your attempt in court will fail anyway. Why add an arrest on top of it, when you don’t have to?
Merit less lawsuits are a sloppy defense for hurt feelings. They aren’t violating the bill of rights in anyway. YOU should read laws and practices everyday before even brushing your teeth and spewing nonsense like most hot headed Americans that want to use our documents ONLY when it applies to their favor. Well done officers on holding your ground and protecting your oath and the constitution.
You mention the Bill of Rights and the authoritarians come running to the defense of the criminal oathbreakers with lies and obfuscation.

Policies do not trump the Constitution. It's pathetic when public servants don't understand this. These officers would be better off allowing access and then standing by in case anything illegal happens. If nothing illegal happens then they don't have a job to do here.
