I need that mic. Have the Billy F Gibbons V7 and it is fantastic. sE mics have been better for my use cases over Shure. My 58s are now backups.

How would you compare the sound on v7 mk and at875r? Which would give a nicer low end rumble

I could do a shootout on that later I think but they're so different. I think this one is much more bass compared to the the AT875R though.

I STRONGLY prefer the sound of the V7x on my voice compared to the regular V7. The extra low-end makes a big difference in the sound. The only downsides of the V7x over the V7 are worse plosive rejection and really horrible handling noise. A windscreen fixes the plosives (and smooths the tone, as you noticed!) but there's no fix for the handling noise. I have to leave it in an arm or stand.
How's the handling noise on the MK compared to a regular V7? I've heard some people say it's just as good as the V7 and some say it's just as bad as the V7x.

I think that's why this version is nice because it has the sound of the V7x but has the literal shell and casing of the V7.

How does the MK handle EMI? I love the sound of it, but I'm hesitant since I'd be using it close to a monitor or even my backlit keyboard... If it is truly noticeable and hard to mitigate the noise, are there any alternatives (+ or - $200) that have a similar oomf to them? Thank you for your time.

Same problems. SEV7, SEV2 and SEV7MK all have EMI issues.

@@DracomiesThank you for taking the time! sorry to throw a million questions at you, but how hard is the EMI to deal with? Sev7x have those issues too? Either way, what would you say is a solid mic that is comparable to that really nice 'boomy' sounding SEV7MK?
PS, I love your mods, I had no idea you did BNW, and redesigned for NV and Fo3!

@@adelaltamimi1279 For these particular mics as long as you keep it away from Bluetooth and some wifi and your cellphone it should be fine. Another mic to consider are the classic but boring Sm57 or Sm58

@@Dracomies Yeah I picked up an sm58 a while back on facebook for like 20 bucks. Either way, thank you so much, I love these videos.

@@Dracomies Thank you very much!! Appreciate the honest reviews of these amazing mics too! You keep it up. You've got my sub even before this comment. I've loved and watched a lot of your reviews on mics and sound panels. I love learning from people who actually do trial and error. Getting real time experience and all. I plan on picking it up for my new setup soon! 🙏😁

Only one way to know. You gotta test out both for yourself. Nothing out there matters, you have to test it yourself.

@@user-yc3pt3om1dHonestly bro, the MK version has a lil more ooomph* added
I am a rock vocalist, and I sing in the higher register aggressively. I’ve just tried them both today and got the MK version.
It captures loud vocals better and makes it dynamically wider with definition for louder, distorted vocals and does it wel
So if you sing specially in rock, this is the mic. If your vocals are for softer music, the normal V7 will do. Both are great mics!
Normal V7 is just lesser on the capturing of loud, wider vocals than the MK version.
      Hope this helps, 😁👍
