They easily could’ve. The loss to Dallas in Week 15 was lost because of a fumble which cost the Saints the game while Brees was on pace to force the game into OT with a score of 24-17. Then in week 16, the Saints had a lead of 17-0 against Tampa Bay at home, then Tampa Bay came back to tie it at 17-17, Garret Hartley had a chance for a game winning field goal (chip shot) and missed. Then in week 17, they went on the road against Carolina and rested their starters. They could’ve at least been 15-1 because I think if they came in to Week 17 being 15-0, they would rather rest their starters and be more than prepared for the playoffs then just be 16-0. But they could’ve won without their starters lol you never know.
The InvictusSamaritan up until 2013 where he missed like every kick lol he was decent. In the NFC Championship 2009 and the Super Bowl he was real good. That’s about it lol
That Saints team doesn’t get enough credit for how dominant they were. At 13-0 they were outscoring opponents 466-274 (36-21) defeating 5 teams with winning records by a combined 171-99, before their 3 game skid to end the season continuing a 107-59 cumulative score vs AZ Min and Indy. Other than bounty gate the Vikings turnovers and blatant assistance from the refs are their only blemishes but of all the Superbowl winning teams since 2000 I’d put them in my top 5.
Brees is the greatest quarterback of all time period I don’t care how many rings Brady has Brees is 10000 percent better then Brady could ever dream to be
This game is the perfect example of the Saints 2009 season for all the idiots who keep saying the bountygate was the "only" reason we won the Super bowl. This game showcases what the 2009 Saints were really like, where the offense would put up so many points and the defense would play ok; they would give up more points and yards than I'd like, but they managed games by forcing turnovers
@@RogueWarrior981 the only games where I can say the defense played elite are the Bills, Jets, Buccaneers, and Patriots games. The Patriots, they were able to hold Tom Brady to only 17 points; the Buccaneers, they started off slow, but the opening drive touchdown was the only score they gave up and provided Drew Brees with a lot of short field; the Bills is actually the one that impresses me the most as they shut out the Bills offense and held Terrell Owens without a catch; the Jets is the only game where they were the sole reason for the win as they only surrendered 10 points and scored 14 of the Saints 24 points
Troy Aikman been disagreeing with and going against every good thing for the Saints for YEARS. What a butthurt jealous hater lol. It can be something clear as day and he'll be up there "you know i don't think they got it, they should review it." to the point he could convince himself it's okay to shoot somebody on the field with a gun as long as it goes AGAINST the Saints. How pathetic. xD
That second TD to colston 😮💨. Brees accuracy was insane
Imagine if this team went 16-0 and still won the Super Bowl.

WyattBDV yeah Garrett Hartley sucks 😂

WyattBDV I was just kidding, I know people who still wear his jersey on game day.
The InvictusSamaritan yea ik you were just kidding lol I see what you mean, thanks for checking out my saints videos dude. I appreciate it!

Eagles won a Super Bowl, but now that Foles is gone, IRRELIVANT

WyattBDV midway would be a gift for them

The dread in Buck's tone of voice every time he had to call a play where the Saints had a positive outcome is palpable.
It's going to be a while before we find something like Brees if ever, he was different.
Feeling pretty good at that point
Brees had a cannon

wrong. so utterly wrong.

Brady had always had top ten defenses including in Tampa
What a blow out😮

Saints were pretty close to unstoppable in 08-19
About 2/3 of that time, actually, cuz 4 out of those 12 years we went 7-9.
@@blakfloyd yea true. Damn defenses were terrible
