I like that you returned to this! Of the 24 parks I've been to, here's my top 10: 10. Busch Gardens Tampa: Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt - This one's shaky because of my incomplete opinion of IGwazi. Regardless, it was fun, and Cheetah Hunt (or Montu) is really good too. 9. Dollywood: Lightning Rod and Mystery Mine - This one's lower because Mystery Mine is fairly far down compared to LRod. Still makes for a great combo, and you can't go wrong with changing it out for Thunderhead either. 8. Islands of Adventure: Hagrid's and Hulk - Even without VelociCoaster (haven't ridden it yet), IoA still has an amazing 1-2 punch. Hulk brings intensity, and Hagrid's brings launches, theming, and just overall FUN 7. Kings Island: Orion and Banshee - I really can't go wrong with replacing these with Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, or the Beast. They're all great rides! 6. Six Flags Over Georgia: Goliath and Twisted Cyclone - Fantastic duo! Do I need to explain? 5. SeaWorld Orlando: Mako and Manta - When I first rode these, they instantly became my new top 2, and they're still awesome rides. On Mako, you feel like you're flying, and on Manta, you are! 4. Carowinds: Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike - I technically like Intimidator better, but Copperhead Strike is really good and provides better contrast synergy with the legendary Fury 325. With both, you get speed, both kinds of airtime, intensity, inversions, AND hangtime! 3. HersheyPark: Wildcat's Revenge and Candymonium - Wildcat is one of my favorite coasters ever with fantastic pacing, inversions, and ejectors, while Candymonium brings it with epic floater airtime. (And no, SkyRush doesn't make this list. It's rough and the restraints still auto staple you) 2. Kings Dominion: Intimidator 305 and Twisted Timbers - Extra points for the contrast! Christ nailed this explanation for me :) 1. Cedar Point: Steel Vengeance and Maverick - SteVe is so long and fun, while Maverick is the first coaster that made me hold on for dear life in the best way possible in a while lol Wow that was hard. I left off BGW (Pantheon + Apollo's), KK (Storm Chaser + Lightning Run), and Holiday World (Voyage + Thunderbird); the other awesome 1-2 punches I've experienced. But we all know the best is Wild Adventures with Boomerang and Twisted Typhoon, which is why it's not included!
Yep. People say Hershey is better, but Steve is the best rmc of all time, and maverick is an elite blitz that, although I haven't ridden sky rush, I can imagine is better. But, there is only one park who is better, and that is energylandia. Nothing will ever top that, unless cedar point builds velocicoaster
I love your videos! Thank you for making them. As a novice coaster enthusiast who is about to hit 100, I'm hyped that you're helping me plan my coaster future 🎢
Feel like Parc Astérix warrants at least an honourable mention, I've only heard good things about Toutatis and Oziris. I mean it's basically the same 1-2 as Busch Gardens VA, but with better theming. Might mention Europa Park too, bit of a drop from Voltron to Silver Star/Wodan but I know there's some people who say those two are slept on.
For Hersheypark, I'd have gone with Candymonium & Storm Runner. Candy is graceful, while Storm Runner has that punchy ass launch, and the elements want to yeet you in all directions.
I actually really really loved Steel Dragon 2000, it's one of my all time favorite coasters (and my second favorite in Japan after Eejanaika)! It really felt like a supersized B&M hyper and I love those. The sense of speed was amazing and I loved the airtime, which was floater on the large hills and ejector on the small ones during the return run. And it had some insane near misses at that speed! All this while being super smooth. And obviously very long!
6:29 I've been to Hansa Park two times now, it really has to be higher. Its two of the best gerstlauers, Novgorod probably being the vest Eurofighter and Kärnan just being an insane experience. In my opinion the best coaster in Germany easily and possibly the best coaster in Europe.
Did not expect Six Flags New England to be that high on the list. It’s my home park and I know it’s generally regarded as one of the lesser SF parks overall so to know that Superman and Twisted Cyclone carry hard enough to get it this high is cool to see!
Potentially getting a strong #3 soon with the T3 replacement. I mean Kentucky Flyer may be among the best family coasters but it's certainly a signifigant downgrade from the top 2.
7:13 tbh i agree with you bc i havent ridden hagrids but i have ridden hulk and velocicoaster if taaosm (anazing adventures of spiderman) was a roller coaster i wouldve picked it with velocicoaster 😂
I'd also add an honorable mention/possible un-seater of EnergyLandia: EuropaPark with Voltron as one punch and either Blue Fire or Wodan as the second! Overall, Zadra and Hyperion are absolutely magical, but they're damn near the only 2 good coasters at the park (most of the remaining 17 are kiddie coasters from carnivals). EuropaPark is more well balanced with high quality kiddie coasters, tons of great and intriguing mid-tiers and then some utter mind blowers like Voltron, BF and Wodan 🙂
Just did Japan earlier this month Hakugei is great, and Steel Dragon was okay. Fuji Q has a great 1-2 punch but it’s with Fujiyama more than Takabisha Voyage / Thunderbird is a good honorable too, with arguably the best wooden coaster and US wing Good video as always tho!
Also, I rode Ride to Happiness on that Euro Trip ACE just got back from. Holy. Damn. It was wild and beautiful, like all the insanity of X2 without the roughness!
Personally I've always evaluated Parks by the parks top 3 coasters so i would love to see that list to see how the rankings change or a top 20 1-2 wood/steel list
I’ve only got 45 credits so far and I’ve only visited 7 parks (I count Disney World as 4) and I can without a doubt say that Steel Vengeance is my absolute favorite. I got 2 rides at night and one in the afternoon and they were all great. Front row, back row, somewhere in the middle. It doesn’t matter. The lines were also 30 minutes max since it broke down so much. That being said, Maverick is fantastic. A little whip-y but the airtime-inversion mix is almost as good as Steel Vengeance’s. The one coaster I despise that everybody seems to love though is Magnum. I don’t know if it was bad ops or the lap bar, but I was so uncomfortable. Those ejector hills really hurt my thighs.
You know, I love Six Flags New England's one-two punch, they're semi-local to me and they're *my* favorite coasters of the ones I've ridden in the world, but even I doubt they should be ranked above Cedar Point and Hersheypark.
@@AirtimeThrills I guess it makes sense since you’ve done pretty much every Giga in North America. Even though it may not be the best one, it has a pretty unique layout I’d say
4:54 Diamondback doesn't get as much love as it should imho. I've been to KI a lot this season and DB is the only coaster I still get really excited about riding because it still feels special. The air time is just too good, it's like a zen type thing for me at this point and I love it. I think row 3 is where the real magic happens. The front and back are great, but in row 3 you actually get borderline ejector that turns into the great floater the ride is known for. Oddly enough though all of my rides on mystic have felt pretty weak this year. It's still fun, but for some reason the air time isn't hitting for me like it has in the past.
I'm so lucky to only live 20 minutes away from King's Island. I never knew that my home park had the best B&M hyper and the best GCI woodie in the country. Diamondback and Mystic Timbers are definitely the best coasters in the park.
For Busch Gardens, I would choose Iron Gwazi and Kumba. I love Montu, but when I went on Kumba (literally yesterday), the forces were so intense that I grayed out. I’ve only grayed out on two other coasters
@AirtimeThrills You should make a video about the top 10 “Twin” coasters in the world, as in two rides that are presented as the same ride experience with same layout, manufacturer, name, theming, etc, but only two coasters. Some examples; Flight of Fear (KI/KD), Hurler (KD/Carowinds), Superman Ride of Steel (SFDL/SFA), Mr. Freeze (SFSL, SFOT) etc
Video idea: Roller coaster that put its park on the map. Like Aireforce One at Fun Spot America making it a place to visit. Plus, reaching back in history like Racer at Kings Island.
Great video Chris! I would have Islands of Adventure’s Top 2 much higher on my list also probably have Walibi Holland in there as I hear great things about both Goliath and Untamed but I think this list overall is very good. Keep up the great content man
I went to Hershey just a few days ago. Gotta say, Candymonium is still king. WR was closed all day (thanks RMC) but I rode it last year so I know what its about. The three Intamins are pretty much equal in my book. Skyrush is super improved with the new restraints but still not an elite coaster. BGW is weird to me because they have several good rides, but honestly no stand outs. I think I settled on Alpengiest at 1, Griffon at 2, and Pantheon at 3. My top 5 1-2 punches are probably 5: Hershey, WR and Candymonium 4: Carowinds, Fury and TS 3: BGT, IG and Montu 2: Kennywood, PR and SC (when its open) 1: Kings Dominion, i305 and TT
@@donroberts2776 Candymonium and Mako seriously have the best parabolic airtime hills I’ve experienced. Back row feels like you get 9 seconds of airtime on each hill. I just wish they’d turn off the trims on the return trip.
Ride ops at SFMM were dueling Twisted Colossus every ride last week (7/20/24). They said they were told to have them duel and were being judged on it in performance reviews. Maybe the merger is already paying off!
Honestly, I'm shocked SFGA didn't make it EL Toro and Kingda ka is an amazing duo one with almost dangerously strong ejector and one that launches you at 128 mph and accelerates down the launch track. Such a good one two punch imo the best one two punch that's just only intiamin rides.
I thought you were gonna do the two boomerangs at New England joke this time! But I do have an idea for an unusual coaster measurement. In skiing, skiers and snowboarders often record how much elevation drop they have done in one day, often called vertical. An example would be the goal at my main ski resort to do 5000 meters (~15000ft) of decent, or 5km vertical. I wonder which roller coaster has the most vertical in its course. This would be done my measuring the height of every drop on the ride (somehow) and adding them all up. My guess for the coaster with the most vertical would be Shambhala, although Top Thrill 2 would come close.
Definately agree with the #1 pick. I'd pick Hershey as my #2 but I'm a bit of a Skyrush fangirl after having ridden it every week last fall as a scare performer for Dark Nights.
Hi, as a european coaster enthusiast i think that you are overestimating some of our 1 2 punch because as much as i love rth and kärnan i dont think that they cant reach the level of some of the other 1 2 punch in america for example with anubis or novgorod. I think that toutatis/oziris had a place in the ranking, it is the european pantheon/ alpengeist kind of. But man i cant agree more with you on energylandia, with 200+ creds hyperion is my top 4 and zadra is my top 1 thats just crazy ! Great video as always 👍
The feeling when I realized that I have only ridden the two N.1 coasters out of this list 😳 And the same with Coaster studios… This kind of makes me proud of my home park Energylandia .😍
Just did Walibi Holland. Goliath is good, but I'd make the 1-2 punch Untamed (which was my 100th coaster!) and Lost Gravity, which is MUCH more insane and fun than it looks despite its' size!
Last time I went to Florida was 2018 and I got a bad ride on steel V so my top pics would be 1- kings dominion (twisted and 305) 2- carowinds (fury and burn) 3- Busch gardens W (alp [#1 invert] and pan) 4- Dollywood (rod and thunder) 5- kings island (diamond and banshee)
Toutatis + Oziris @ Parc Astérix Batman Gotham City Escape + Superman Atracción de acero @ Parque Warner Madrid I think those two are stronger than some of the middle-tier of the list 🤷
Parc Asterix has a very similar 1-2 punch to BGW. Though Toutatis is considered to be better than Pantheon and Alpengeist is also usually at max tied with Oziris. So I'm kinda suprised that its not even mentioned. Interesting picks, but amazingly put together.
Finally got my first three international credits (Happy Valley Chengdu), but what terrible dispatches and overprotective restraints (over the shoulder straps on Mega-lite, like WTH?)
Heh... I just started working on a park today in Planet Coaster where I'm going to attempt to build 5 of the best coasters from 5 different of some of the larger manufacturers, and so far, I only got RMC today, and my only hope is to get Intamin, S&S, B&M, and Mack Rides next *I have to spin a wheel which makes it randomized and more fun creating the park, not to mention, I have to use what I believe to be their best model* I wonder when I finish it, if it could be #1 on your list (if it were real).

My top 5 1-2 punches are probably
5: Hershey, WR and Candymonium
4: Carowinds, Fury and TS
3: BGT, IG and Montu
2: Kennywood, PR and SC (when its open)
1: Kings Dominion, i305 and TT
Candymonium is floater air heaven.
@@donroberts2776 Candymonium and Mako seriously have the best parabolic airtime hills I’ve experienced. Back row feels like you get 9 seconds of airtime on each hill. I just wish they’d turn off the trims on the return trip.
Energylandia has two of my top 5 coasters and Cedar Point has two in my top 10. No doubt those are the two with the best 1-2 punches for me.
How is Wodan x Voltron at Europa Park not on this List?!?!?!
@@AnotherSwissRUclipsUser not a lot of people seem to like wodan that much
Also gotta give respect to DK’s top 2. It’s a decent one two punch
@@jzckvsn yeah on my north america list it cracked it
Im confident that if the Twisted Cyclone layout was longer it would be a top 10 RMC as despite its small size it has a great layout
Ride ops at SFMM were dueling Twisted Colossus every ride last week (7/20/24). They said they were told to have them duel and were being judged on it in performance reviews. Maybe the merger is already paying off!
I’m happy to see englands coasters finally being recognised on a global scene
I'm going to Energylandia next monday and tuesday so now i can't wait even more.
Phantasialand has 3 awesome rides. Black Mamba
No way fiesta Texas is just an honorable mention 😭😭
Honestly, I'm shocked SFGA didn't make it EL Toro and Kingda ka is an amazing duo one with almost dangerously strong ejector and one that launches you at 128 mph and accelerates down the launch track. Such a good one two punch imo the best one two punch that's just only intiamin rides.
@@LukePompa-ge1yi ka is the questionable one here
As always, thank you for fighting for Raging Bull
You have the best vids
My favorite 1-2 punch at any park is El Toro and Kingda Ka at Great Adventure.
Idea for a countdown video: roller coasters with the best train designs/theming.
Europapark Voltron + Wodan
Definately agree with the #1 pick. I'd pick Hershey as my #2 but I'm a bit of a Skyrush fangirl after having ridden it every week last fall as a scare performer for Dark Nights.
How about Parks ranked by their top 5 punches? Itll really show which parks have good depth.
@@CaseFamilyVlogs really just puts the huge parks in play. This at least gives the small parks a shot
I have been to energylandia 2 times and i can't get enough of zadra and Hyperion
energylandia winning the coaster studios and this one
Nice to update the 4 year old 1-2 North America punch vid for world wide!
Parc Asterix has my new no.1, Toutatis, and a very good Gravity Group woodie in Tonnere 2 Zeus.
You should do the worlds worst 1-2 coaster punches
Canada’s Wonderland tops that list!!
@@gravitythrills5414 Thats what I was thinking lol
@@Mononoke18 canadas wonderland shot to front of mind immediately
@@AirtimeThrills Same haha
I could see six flags america and six flags st louis as well
Hi, as a european coaster enthusiast i think that you are overestimating some of our 1 2 punch because as much as i love rth and kärnan i dont think that they cant reach the level of some of the other 1 2 punch in america for example with anubis or novgorod.
I think that toutatis/oziris had a place in the ranking, it is the european pantheon/ alpengeist kind of.
But man i cant agree more with you on energylandia, with 200+ creds hyperion is my top 4 and zadra is my top 1 thats just crazy !
Great video as always 👍
steel curtain and phantoms revenge at kennywood are a solid pair
I feel like a saw this video recently on another channel…
Cough cough Coaster Studios
That was with 2 specific manufacturers. Besides AT did the exact same video a couple years back so this is an update
He already made a video like this for NA like 4 years ago, so someone probably copied this format
The feeling when I realized that I have only ridden the two N.1 coasters out of this list 😳 And the same with Coaster studios… This kind of makes me proud of my home park Energylandia .😍
I don't think you'll be disappointed by Skyrush, the new restraints are much more comfortable.
Hershey has 2 one two punches, def my favorite park.
Just did Walibi Holland. Goliath is good, but I'd make the 1-2 punch Untamed (which was my 100th coaster!) and Lost Gravity, which is MUCH more insane and fun than it looks despite its' size!
I was surprised my home park Kings Island even made this list!
Velocicoaster 😍
Incredible Hulk 🤷♂️
Upcoming to watch is the new extreme spinner going to holiday park making it a 1-2 punch with Expedition GeForce
Last time I went to Florida was 2018 and I got a bad ride on steel V so my top pics would be
1- kings dominion (twisted and 305)
2- carowinds (fury and burn)
3- Busch gardens W (alp [#1 invert] and pan)
4- Dollywood (rod and thunder)
5- kings island (diamond and banshee)
LOVE YOUR VIDS! WHAT ABOUT 1-2-3 PUNCHES! OOPS
Toutatis + Oziris @ Parc Astérix
Batman Gotham City Escape + Superman Atracción de acero @ Parque Warner Madrid
I think those two are stronger than some of the middle-tier of the list 🤷
Parc Asterix has a very similar 1-2 punch to BGW. Though Toutatis is considered to be better than Pantheon and Alpengeist is also usually at max tied with Oziris. So I'm kinda suprised that its not even mentioned. Interesting picks, but amazingly put together.
@@andori_AB thats a good point. I havent heard a lot of rave about oziris
Video idea: Parks with the worst coaster collection. (Minimum 3)
My fav youtuber
Finally got my first three international credits (Happy Valley Chengdu), but what terrible dispatches and overprotective restraints (over the shoulder straps on Mega-lite, like WTH?)
This list is light work. Show me the WORST 1-2 punches
This video just proves that intamin and rmc are the best 1-2 punch deliverers in the industry
Once holiday park gets an extreme spinner its almost definitely going to be top 5
