When actors act, it's the same thing as hiding behind a mask most times, because they put on an "act". The lady with the dress of masks was brilliant and artistic in her attire. The mask very much represented film and theater. It's bold and unconventional, yes, but she understood the assignment. Plus it's not a skull.
I hope people know this is her perception, it doesn't mean it is the ultimate and has no way near ultimate or conclusive. Yes, some of her diss were right as they are common sense not acceptable dressing but a lot more were plain not generalized. They were just perception based.

The second dress is not a skull, it is a mask. AMVCA is an acting award show, The awards were given out are for acting and when you are acting, you are putting on a mask portraying someone else's story whether it a fiction or non-fiction story. So the dress makes sense on an artistry level and it was a genius idea. That is the definition of it more than just a look.

I total agree with you and echo your sentiments re aesthesis and function. That part of fashion is missing. I don't think that 10:10 was a bad look. Definitely not the best. I don't like the bow. I don't think it add anything to the dress. Maybe it's the angle/cut. 12:23 I agree that it was basic. But it wasn't a bad look. The shoes didn't complement the outfit.
