The Jackass comparison is good, and I never understood the appeal as a kid either, but I've been rewatching it as an adult and I must say that those guys were infinitely more respectful toward each other (at least on camera), and especially to those around them.
At least in the early episodes I've been watching, there's mostly a whole lot of skateboarding and dressing up in silly costumes and doing stunts, always being polite to onlookers and making sure not to bother people too much.
As for Bam and his dad I have no idea, I assume there's plenty of behind-the-scenes drama to learn about all of those guys, but I've never really paid attention to any of that.

It’s a bit past most of Hasan’s audiences time. Most of his audience are 18+ and Bizaardvark didn’t come out until 2016, so most audience members would have been 12 or older at the time and probably at the cusp of aging out of Disney channel shows (or past aged out). I know I don’t have more than a passing awareness of its existence and I’m 22
