Lille Barro is not a chicken, but more like an owl, and The Bible uses owls figuratively to symbolize tormenting loneliness, desolation, mourning, and judgment.
There had been an old theory that shinken Hakkykoken was purosefully made to battle the Soul King, especially since The Great Noble clans are super wary of him and that they eneded up using it ultimately to sever the SK's body parts. It being effective with Lille Barro who basiscally ascended to like multiple layers of "Holy form" probably is another sign of the quincy powers are powers inherited by Ywach from his father the Soul King.
I think you missed on the point of ohana telling Shunsui to give up. Remember Shunsui and his blade are one and the same (blade is me).. Ohana is just saying what Shunsui is thinking in the moment.
Shunsui giving a background while in that state is in line with his character, his Zanpakuto Spirit urging retreat while ignoring the associated shame is in line with Shunsui's thinking and of course part of their mantra. Shinigami are known for never retreating or surrendering, but Shunsui knows it's better to ignore shame in order to preserve his soldiers and himself as Commander. Nanao showing up to encourage him is heartwarming.
Rebirth, Lille’s form is (partially) based off of biblical description of a Seraph. A Seraph or Seraphim (plural) are said to be the strongest angels and also called the “burning ones” due to them being fiery beings. Lille breathing fire and appearing more gold, is a reference to that. Biblical angels, visual, aren’t like what movies or cartoons typically portray. Rather they’re more like “monster like” (for lack of better term), that’s why Lille looks like he does, same for his head which is an owl rather than a chicken. The owl also has certain symbolism but can’t recall off the top of my head.
The eyes on Yhwachs design after he absorbs the soul king references biblical mythology since angels in the Bible also have an abundance of eyes in their appearance.
For the bird brained Lille, i believe his lack of intelligence is mainly from the fact that he lost his head from the bankai, and had to make an entirely new head from reishi. Either that or it's just arrogance.
This episode was the epitome of what makes Shunsui such a all round great character. His character, his power , his ambitions and his duty. With his nice all the way. Soul reapers and their Zanpakuto are so multilayered
I love how every single person was like they need to add more foreshadowing to Nanaos subplot here, but once the anime does virtually nothing but have super bright effects that burn your retinas, it’s somehow the best episode ever. Btw I actually love the subplot and think its fine. This has to be a stage of denial.
My guess is that it was to combat Soul King originally. Perhaps the Ise family was then cursed by Soul King, and they were destined to take care of the Sword.
@@anttibra I think the curse part is more like a price for a God counter powers. Gaining extreme power in Bleach like mostly end up with them having a price to pay the end Like just reaching Captain level dooms your soul to be sent to Hell. Komumura gains immortality but becomes an actual wolf/dog. Become transcendent among all beings and Ichibe will be eyeing you to be the next slab of meat he will use to replace the Soul King.
I think senjumaru's hall of mirrors attack was a decent enough way to foreshadow lille's defeat, definitely much better than the manga but honestly we needed more even in the anime to really feel like shinken hakkyoken was an earned way to end this fight. Maybe hint at the fact that nanao had something up her sleeve earlier beyond just the lore of her namesake. My favorite part of this ep has to be the whole trompete scene, the vfx and the ost were awesome. Although it sucks somewhat that the previous fight seems to have been a bigger priority overall, seeing as this is a shunsui fight we are talking about.
Shinken Hakyuken might have been used when soul king was dismantled by noble clans. If the provenance goes way back to the early days it might be posible.
Theory 3. Shunsi is lowkey suicidal but has a playful temperament which is reflected by his shikai.and bankai differences. The fact he is reluctant to use his bankai shows his.active attempts to.combat his nature
That good huh? Also they just turned Lille into a JRPG boss lmao A few minutes in, I wanna note, Lille in this form is more akin to an owl I would say, like a Barn Owls face, which I think fits the symbolism more.
With Shunsui's dual wielding, we can see that Shinken Hakkyoken was given to him when he was an academy student, basically Shunsui was still on the processs of bonding with an Asauchi. SO he probably was beginning to only form one zanpakuto at the time but since he was forced to hide something that basically gets Isuzu killed. I guess that since with the Blade is Me logic. Shunsui basically has this guilt he "needs to hide" thus creating a persona for another zanpakuto that likes Hide & Seek?? Basically I think it's not Shunsui's powers that created a second sword and it is more of a psychological thing that happened to Shunsui that allowed him to basically create two persona's of himself.
Deus ex machina or not with her Zankupato (and honestly, considering they were facing someone declaring himself to be close to a god themselves, I'd say it's a befitting one, anyways), Nanao got much needed depth for her character. I did wish more buildup for her was there before from previous arcs, but it is what it is and not that much of a demerit. Shunsui's character is really, really sad. This man got so much weight on his shoulders, physically and mentally. It's no wonder why even his own Zankupato would be telling him to just give up in the face of inevitable death.
Another interesting theory could be that since Shunsui’s KK has the ability to superimpose a cursed fate via a narration of a tale/play which is what happens during his Bankai . One could imply that KK with its unique relationship with curses and fate possessed the necessary abilities to hide Nanao’s blade considering that this blade also holds some form of a “curse” within it.
Fire you forgot that Tinkianata said/heavily implied that all the Five great has a family zanpakuto, Bring up Marismu(iirc, the zanpakuto from the zanpakuto rebiillion filler) as the Kuchki's family zanpakuto. and probaly ask Yoruchi to show her's
The angel references are so apparent the wings the trumpet the animals all of these things are referenced in the bible on how angels look but also kubo put his own spin on it of course the design is probably my fav in the whole series
My interpretation of Shunsuis relationship with Ohana is just the reflection of his desires and personality. Shunshuis at his core does not like the burden of responsibility. This includes the burden of being alive. His zanpukto reflects this by making all of his games end in death. The one thing he wants. The only thing stopping him is his stronger characteristic of bearing the burden of responsibility from others depending on him. He has a deep fear of failing those who depend on him. Hence his reluctance to take up the role of head Captain because he know he would have to give his all to not lose another person he cares about it. (In this case the Gotei)
The back-peddling is insane. I remember pre-cour 3 y'all were like how it was an obligation how they had to ad more to the ise subplot, and here you are glazing the ep, zero integrity...
I think it says a lot about Shunsui that his Zanpakuto, a piece of his soul, manifests as a woman and her child. === I've always wondered how Shinken Hakkyōken would do against other transcendent beings like Aizen, Ichigo, the Soul King or Yhwach considering how effective it is against Lille, despite the huge power gap that would normally decide such a fight in Bleach, thanks to Shinken Hakkyōken's ability to reflect a god's power back at them. I've also always wondered why the Ise Clan has a sword that can harm transcendent beings. I've got a good idea why the Shihoin clan has so many divine treasures but why does the Ise Clan? No noble family would give a lesser one a potential threat to their power unless they benefitted massively in the long term for it even if it was cursed.
@@JackWitt-g9p I think you are being overly bias against the Ise family for some reason. Well, we know what creatures with immense spiritual pressure can essentially split their soul and create life this way, Zaraki created Yachiru who was manifestation of his sword, Stark created LIllinete, so it's not impossible for Kiuraku and Ukitake, two most powerful shinigami after Yama-gi, to create another dzanpakto blade
I see that you love poetic episodes than the episodes which contains people with mindset like Mayuri's mindset. Your videos for both Shunsui episodes were bigger than normal.
I don't remember where I read it, but there's a theory that Katen gave birth to Kyokotsu by plucking out an eye, which is why each of them only has one and each one on one side
This episode was one of the best episodes ever in bleach to me. Honestly all of anime because of the build up and back story to this and then visuals. Everything makes me want to cry lol
I dont agree with the bit about Katen would kind of "kill" Kyoraku. I think she just doesnt want him to die, she said it in the earlier episode. Like what we learn from Zangetsu, the spirit just wants to protect the welder. It doesn't care about soul society or ichigos friends. They just want the owner to be safe. And it sounded more like Shunsui's deep desire more than anything. He doesn't want the burden, he just wants to run away, but he can't.
Theory 2. Since the asauchi are essentially made from pseudo dead souls, i think all the men associated with the use family's souls kèep feeding that zan so it can be as powerful as it is.
Ngl, for the pronunciation of Lille's name, the only reference we got is the start of his fight with Shunsui, because normally L when i. Japanese is usually made an R... But I'm fully certain that the ll was replaced by either a "Ji" or a "Ge" to replicate that G like sound seen in Spanish words with a double L As for the finale, I'm sure it will be the same 13 episodes, at least going based on a much older video of yours the studio doesn't really have much say in how many episodes Total, so we should expect the same 13 ep per cour for 4 cours. Though that recap at the start was made 9 mins long because of how many times 9 was said in the Quincy poem.

Lillie Barro doesn't become "dumber", he becomes more prideful. If he he considers ywhch to be his "God" he is more of an analogy of Lucifer thinking himself to be on the same level as "god" and liking been seen that way when people reinforce that. The whole "god, I like that" thing is a "pride comes before the fall" analogy. as Lucifer's primary sin was pride.
If Lille Barro claims that he is the first Quincy to be granted with Schrift, then should we suppose that he fought in war against OG Gotei (first group of Gotei 13)?
amazing episode amazing music amazing adaptation, but the plot in this episodee was so fucking bad more you rewatch it and more it doesn't make anysense, random asspulled deus ex machina sword check, perfect counter ability check, nanao dosn't know how to use a sword check, explained power to lillee check, smart enemy become an idiot check,, any way you watch it it just bad
Isn't Hisagi a dual wielder too? Are we sure that a soul reaper needs two spirits for dual wielding? Isn't it possible that Ohana was a dual wielder originally, and just gave a blade to her offspring afterwards? There seems to be a slight Coyote Starkk similarity here.
Lile Barro becomes very arrogant after transforming into the bird Form He feels like he cant be beaten anymore, because he already survived shunsuis Bankai That is why he is so arrogant and that is why he just attacks nanao and that is why he seemed to be more stupid its similar to Aizen that his arrogance just makes him ignorant
This is personally the most disappointing episode for me. Don't get me wrong, the episode is great, sound wonderful, character models look very neat But story wise, I feel I was robbed of something. I have never been a fan of the Nanao sword plotline and I still consider it an ass pull as it wasn't forshadwed the slightest till the very last portion of TYBW. Lille Barro won, and I feel there might be a better way to end this fight. Equally I would have loved to gain some insights on Lille Barro as the first and leader of the Elite Stern Ritters. It's so sad we don't get to have a backstory for him. I know the story follows the strides of the shinigami but Lille is a character I feel would have benefited from more characterisation A nice parallel I like in this fight is Lille on one hand being a very calm and "mature" character in base but increasingly turns childish as he gets transforms to holy form. On the other hand, we've got Kyoraku who's shikai is based on children's games but gets more serious with his bankai release
So will you definitely have some foreshadowing for the ise clans sword as we knew about the Noble clans dismembered the soul king. This sword would be an important tool in doing so.
@@shivasamadhi You’re right, hollow Ichigo is the true original Zangetsu. He also isn’t White (the hollow that fought Ichigo’s parents) as a lot of people like to call him. Zangetsu is the fusion of White and Ichigo’s original shinigami powers he inherited at birth. His Quincy side is just as you point out. The thing is though, ever since the reforging of his sword Ichigo accepted both of them as Zangetsu. And as Zangetsu they were reforged into the blade and sheath, both in the shape of swords. So at this point, both are now Zangetsu.
@@shivasamadhi no quincies have a "Ywach" manifestation of their powers. It is only Shinigamis that can manifest their "powers" as beings and be able to "converse" with them. They are going to end the season with Chad getting a W over uryu.
I don't remember where I read it, but there's a theory that Katen gave birth to Kyokotsu by plucking out an eye, which is why each of them only has one and each one on one side
Theory 1. The ise sword is what they used to carve up the soul king back in the day
Ok so im curious how ohana got pregnant and had a child. Its shady for shunsui would have a child with his zanpakutō spirit as they are the same age.
It could be the reason Ukitake also ended up with a dual zanpakto is because he had Mimihagi inside him.
14:57 Kenny's zanpaktou spirit always did something similar.
But I'm fully certain that the ll was replaced by either a "Ji" or a "Ge" to replicate that G like sound seen in Spanish words with a double L
As for the finale, I'm sure it will be the same 13 episodes, at least going based on a much older video of yours the studio doesn't really have much say in how many episodes Total, so we should expect the same 13 ep per cour for 4 cours. Though that recap at the start was made 9 mins long because of how many times 9 was said in the Quincy poem.
HERE IT IS!! Can ichigo use gren rey cero and defeat lilli barro?
Cero is a light base attack..is my. Agenda of saying a cero can touch lilli barro?
Is there still some Gremmy's fanbois thinking he is stronger than Schutzstaffel?
Gremmy is as strong as the schutzstaffel. Did you not watch the Gremmy fight?? Lol. Gremmy still has attacks with more scale and range than anything other schutzstaffel showcased.
@@NEONlights-lb8um Beaten by shikai Zaraki? While Gerard Valkyrie took on Byakuya, Hitsugaya and Zaraki all in their bankai. Don't be delusional just because Gremmy is cool, he is not on par with Lille Barro and Gerard Valkyrie
@@NEONlights-lb8um Gremmy has a " potential"to be as strong as them. But since the kid don't have discipline and don't train at all and don't follow prders. The kid nerfed himself big time.
Best video
Yo what is this song at the end?
11:02 pretty sure that's a bonsai tree lol
Lillie Barro doesn't become "dumber", he becomes more prideful. If he he considers ywhch to be his "God" he is more of an analogy of Lucifer thinking himself to be on the same level as "god" and liking been seen that way when people reinforce that. The whole "god, I like that" thing is a "pride comes before the fall" analogy. as Lucifer's primary sin was pride.
he doesn't become dumber because at no point in the story is he ever smart
Lille was drunk on God’s power, that why he was “dummer”
Sagisu is a Fuckin genius he needs to be studied
Lile Barro becomes very arrogant after transforming into the bird Form
He feels like he cant be beaten anymore, because he already survived shunsuis Bankai
That is why he is so arrogant and that is why he just attacks nanao and that is why he seemed to be more stupid its similar to Aizen that his arrogance just
makes him ignorant
Dont forget the 7th kenpachi that's was his friend also
What if they used this sacred zanpakuto to severe reio's limbs?
Pine trees.... or kinda looked a banzai tree as well
This is personally the most disappointing episode for me. Don't get me wrong, the episode is great, sound wonderful, character models look very neat
But story wise, I feel I was robbed of something.
I know the story follows the strides of the shinigami but Lille is a character I feel would have benefited from more characterisation
A nice parallel I like in this fight is Lille on one hand being a very calm and "mature" character in base but increasingly turns childish as he gets transforms to holy form.
On the other hand, we've got Kyoraku who's shikai is based on children's games but gets more serious with his bankai release
So will you definitely have some foreshadowing for the ise clans sword as we knew about the Noble clans dismembered the soul king. This sword would be an important tool in doing so.
Theory says Shinken Hakkyoken is the thing the Great noble clan used to chop up the Soul King.
@Snzn_7 that's a good theory as it would explain how they negated the soul kings power cause how else are they killing him.
Stop lying the episode was amazing
Yes it was foreshadowed before liar
bruh it's clearly an Ostrich
Haha, 100% success rate 😆

We gotta stop the “old man Zangetsu” stuff, when we know that’s the spiritual imprint of Juha that lives in every Quincy. White Ichigo IS Zangetsu
This is not accurate
That is a shinigami thing since that is how they process their power through their zanpakuto. Any being they see in their zanpakuto's world is a manifestation of their own power
Uryu won't have a version of Ywach talking to him in his head since that is not something a Quincy can do.
