- Watching a MTA NYC Subway Westinghouse/ANF Industrie/Alstom R68 train couple to a MTA NYC Subway Kawasaki Heavy Industries R68A train at Church Ave.
This video was taken on November 23, 2016.
I gotta say, those men did a very good work coupling together those trains as a team together. Awesome Job. 🤗👍👍
You may kiss the bride.
Nice and they could have turned the mixed R68A and R68 train set as a N or W train since both are out of Coney Island Yard like the G train
This is so cool I never saw this before
Ah, the good ol' coupling. Yard move, I guess.
I never see the good stuff in person down in NYC subways
Ses
And that's how new train are born.
or like the inside and the noise
You moved very slow and didn't get good shots of the actual coupling
yeah he didn't he was just walking like a snail and he kept on staying behind the first window and didn't get a shot of in between both of the cars
very true
because of the springs or the chains
This is how more R68/A's come out! :D they are making love! :DD
MTA bus

OMG THIS IS SO CUTE

thats just wtf
Rather poor video if you ask me. You were standing off to the side so the actual coupling was not visible and far enough away so that someone could walk in front of the camera right at the moment of coupling.
100% agree
Yeah but
*Its a R68 and 68A
Never seen that before
wow never seen this happen before.
Cool !!
Does anyone hear and R160 F train in the background.
????
Cool
Never knew the MTA ever ran a full length G train.
How exactly do the cars couple and uncouple? What controls the actual coupler in the motorman’s cab?
there are no controls for the coupler in the cab. only NTTs (new technology trains) (R142, R142A, R143, R160, R179, R188) have controls for the coupler. they uncouple OTTs (old technology trains) in the train workshop or yard by using some sort of tool.
second of all, I guess the coupler has a hook that hooks onto another coupler and the train is coupled. it's as simple as that.
What time do they usually do this at?
T trains no longer run did you know?????
If the Second Avenue Subway is ever completed all the way down to Midtown and Lower Manhattan it will get the T designation which was once used by the BMT West End Express train before 1967.
Is the R179 new or making a comeback or something?
Kameron Coleman It's a new car type.

What’s the difference between R68 and R68A
R68s have a bar under the destination sign on the exterior and R68As don't have. In addition, they were built by different companies and were numbered 2500-2924 for R68 and 5001-5200 for R68A.
@@JonathanChan212 The first car R-68 is 2500 and the last car number is 2924.
@@captainkeyboard1007 Fixed.
@@JonathanChan212 I thank you for your acknowledgement. We are learning constantly. It is never too late.
