Nothing Freddie Mercury was able to do with his voice surprises me anymore.

Man Made Paradise was worked on by Queen for The Works album, but it never quite got there. There are versions of the song AS a Queen song, but it has never leaked anywhere.
Faithful subscriber... always seeing where you're going on this journey! Good times, brother! Keep going :D

Funny that originally it was thought to be something closer to the "Hot Space" album, they even recorded it around 82/83, but Freddie decided to re-record it in 1984/85

David, if you want to hear Freddie at his very best with Montsy, check out Guide me Home, it is the beginning on How Can I go On. His voice is so powerful and the lyrics are so beautiful

I have been listening to you for sometime now. Love your channel. I have no right to make a request. Just wondered why you never have reacted to Elvis. Elvis and Freddie Mercury are the best.

Some of his solo stuff is incredible. I remember your reaction to the song, in my defence. Check out living on my own, completely different from his usual stuff. He also did a guest vocal on love is the hero by billy squire...incredible intro to a song

Ah, yes... Finally you reacted to this beautiful song... Of course I had expected you to be impressed with the end! (Hahaha, Classic Freddie, he always catches you off guard😜😜😜)! Now tell me, did you remind something? I strongly believe that's where "Barcelona" born from... Just listen carefully.
Fun fact : It was one day when Freddie was in the studio in Munich recording his album "Mr Bad Guy" and at some point he was stressed and moody about something. Then suddenly, he played a record of Montserrat Caballé. He turned to his producer and friend Mack aka Reinhold Mack (the Game & Hot Space) and some others and said "just listen, this is real music".

This song was first proposed as a Queen song, but when the band tried it and didn't see much potential for Queen, Freddie ended up recording it for his solo album. It could have been on 'Hot Space' or The Works'. Also, regarding the comment you made on "In My Defence": it was recorded a few months after this album was released. Freddie 's album was recorded between early 1983 and early 1985, and In My Defence was recorded later in 1985.
As for the album charting… yeah, it was not a major hit but also not a complete dud. It did reach 6th place in the UK charts, but only 159 in the Billboard 200 in the US. It did fairly well in other European countries - it reached 23rd in Austria, 17th in the Netherlands, 14th in Switzerland, 13th in Norway, and 11th in Germany. But yeah, the UK was the only territory where it got to the Top 10.

Roger stated that it took Freddie a long time to finish the album, Freddie seemed conflicted or disinterested, maybe could not focus on it, who knows
