they should've made it more personal but with more detail mechanics, let the player be a person living in the city of the frostpunk universe, this war of mine in frostpunk, with conflicts, problem solving, missions, management, assigning tasks, survival, etc
Still need to beat The Last Autumn scenario. Also, need to replay the base campaign and see if I can meet some of the the stretch goals or side with the Lords. Great game. Not super resource intensive. Def need more dynamic animations so there's something kinetic going on.
Well, here's another game that looks amazing and I'll have to somehow fit into my budget. So many great ones coming up! The weird irony is that the one game I was really looking forward to this year (Dragon Age 4) looks incredibly iffy right now and I might very well pass on, while all these lesser-known titles look like must-buys. Thanks Fex for another great preview.
The answer is yes, you do want to play this. The vibe alone is great, but it's also pretty fun. However, my guy, can you please turn the subtitles off? Or make them at least full sentences, not this nonsense 12-year-old ADHD-brain TikTok stuff? I find it very disruptive to watch.
ironic, my guy. you talk about teenage adhd brain but cant handle a 30-second non-detailed intro because you find it disruptive. i bet that AMD advert really threw you into a mental abyss. and yet i can't disagree with the notion of questioning why the subtitles exist even for the purposes of shorts. when there's a closed captioning feature on shorts for anyone that needs that accessibility. guess both the action and your reaction could be avoided if the subtitles were scrapped altogether. your passive-aggressive inquiry wins.
I bought the game, I miss watching the people walking thru the snow and so, just starting, but I dunno it feels empty, maybe it will feel better later on.
It is difficult to make game that has part 2 and keep the soul and everything we loved about part 1 . Only very talented developers can do that . They have failed in frost Punk 2 big time . Generic tile strategy game , it's not frostpunk at all .
@@random_user98 I use my phone to stream games directly from the PC, so adding a keyboard for a small screen is non-viable for me. Thanks, but no thanks.
Mechanically it doesn't sound much different from the original game other than perhaps the colonies - maybe you could a short video some time elaborating on what and how you think the two games play differently.
It's actually an entirely different game. In Frostpunk 1 the cold was your biggest enemy. In Frostpunk 2 your fellow survivors are you biggest enemies. Also, Frostpunk 1 was a micro-manager, Frostpunk 2 is a macro-manager. You're not building 1 city 1 building at a time. You're building multiple cities at the same time by plopping down entire districts, like Sim City or Cities Skylanes. They're very different games and they're both amazing.
I love that they're both similar but different. FP1 let's me design my city building by building. FP2 let's me build a sprawl on cliffsides and cool steam punk train systems.
@@random_user98 you can find people talking about this issue on the steam community and redit as well, it is an accessability feature that should be in every text heavy game, my screen isn't small, some people get headaches from reading such small fonts, I could only play half an a hour before getting sever headaches
It kind of very disappointed me . I loved the first one and this one feels like rushed in , not so much love given in to this one like the first one. Don't like the new mechanism.
You know the deluxe edition is a lot more then just a 3 day early access? And the game is being advertised to launch on sept. 20 everywhere, being angry of 3 days is crazy
Interesting , then why does frostpunk have a much larger player base. You would think if this war of mine is 1000 time better it would be played by everyone but no, it doesn't even have half of the monthly players and don't even get started on peak players. It also made more money
@@random_user98 Everything was better music, characters, story, mechanics, only a few people to take care off not a whole society. There is nothing in this game that has anything like this war of mine and hate the devs for not making part 2 and come up with this nonsense game.
@@timschutte3961 yeah this isn't this war of mine so what's the point in comparing. All you do is tell your opinions, but realistically speaking frostpunk made more money, has more players and a bigger fanbase, so it is more enjoyable to be played by general. That's not to say you can't enjoy other games more, but you just sound like an angry person telling everyone that you don't like frostpunk so it's worse than this war of mine

Please keep doing these "Should You Play" series on games. I trust this more than gameranx.
I will definitely get this. I love this type of genre.
The first one was amazing , totally playing this
Who else is here after "THE ARK & THE TINDERBOX | Frostpunk 2 Song!" from The Stupendium? :D Amazing song!
this was one of the best game reviews i've ever seen. brief and very fun to watch. well done
I definitely love this kind of game, especially played Frostpunk and This War of Mine before and loved all of them
I love it. Its so cool (pun intended) to build houses and factories on the side of cliffs.
Really liked the first one, will give this one a try!
Great to see they innovated the gameplay. Originally I wasn’t sure what 2 could offer that the original didn’t
I put so many hours into the first game. So excited for the sequel
Oof, that old comment hit hard. The 90s were just last decade...right? RIGHT?!

Looks cool, never played the firs tone but people seem to adore it.
I have played the Frostpunk and will love to play Frostpunk 2 in future
Great game. Loved the first, cant wait for the 2nd
Thank you for the subtitles!
just played 8 hours of this game in a row... didnt look at the time once
It looks super good!

Agree... Very intrusive subtitles.
thirded.
It was only for the intro. Likely so they won’t have to re-edit when they make it into a short

Looks like a cool game
I played the first one to death. It was so good, the immersion was insane.
So you are dead now 🤔
do you need to babysit factions in utopia mode ?
Just bought Frostpunk 1 for $8.
Any chance y'all could do a rakshasa great katana build
I bought the game, I miss watching the people walking thru the snow and so, just starting, but I dunno it feels empty, maybe it will feel better later on.
Is this a game with only one save or are you launching parties ?
So it plays pretty much like the first game, sounds good.
It really doesn't. The mechanics are entirely different.
Nice
