In the first episode of tvd , the vampires had more abilities because of the books but then they changed it from the second episode

tvd is one of my favorite shows it honestly gets so much better. the first few episodes of season 1 are the cringey vampire tween vibe that was popular in the early 00s, but midseason and after is when it gets good lol

You should honestly just do this whole show. I PROMISE you’ll be kinda into it. Especially once you meet a certain original family, a certain doppelgänger and a certain siphoner sociopath. Also there’s this hilarious immortal. The first couple episodes can seem sort of cringey, but really the show is funny, great plot and deep, well written characters. Maybe just do a combined video of every 5 episodes. And after you could watch the spin-offs The Originals and Legacies, if you feel like it.

But he was so boring in the early seasons, they tried making him almost like Edward. Later on he gained more personality and became cool
i haven't even watched the video, i know dev loves ian somerhalder and i was like... yea i'm not expecting the necessary stefan appreciation in this lmao. the dark-angsty-tragic-complexity of stefan is missed by surface level watching, i'm not even trying to be pretentious lmao, watching as a tween i was indifferent to stefan and it wasn't until MANY rewatches and actually paying critical attention to the writing of the show that i realised stefan might be the most interesting (and along with bonnie the most underrated) character in the show.
@@baluhhh3068 I actually feel the opposite ha, I get finding his seriousness "boring", but it's not a lack of personality (unlike Edward). I find Stefan's complexity in the early seasons to be the best written, and more compelling than the humour or "fun" outgoing vibe of other characters which bores me.
Seasons 1-2 Stefan is the "boring" good guy, but it's contrasted and fuelled by his underlying ripper narrative, he's a self-loathing blood addict fighting to be good. Season 3 leaving with Klaus and stripped of his humanity we see him as a ripper, and watch him find his way back. I think Season 3 is the "coolest" Stefan, but after those early seasons... the writing just wasn't as good, I don't feel like Stefan had more or less personality.

I like the ripper Stefan, but him controlling himself and all that reminded me of Edward sm, and to me was just extra dramatic. I like how he's just a lighter character in the final seasons, it's like he's actually happy with himself for once and doesn't carry unecessary burdens, and I disagree it was bad writing. Don't get me wrong, s7 and 8 were terrible in writing, but Stefan's character was not one of them to me. But I do feel like the whole killing Enzo part was tho

@Dead Dumplings That is so not true, she spook in an interview and she said at the beginng that she though she was going to be killed because she is black and that was the Holliwood threatment of black actor at that time. But then she and the writers had conversations about Bonnie character and how to change that Hollyvood trend and she said they did (together) a pretty good job. Do not spread fake nasty unsubstanciated news, just because some stupid person, cut and edit piece of interviews to prove racism where there isn't any, stop the nasty woke/cancel culture. Also do not confuse the actress with the role, Bonnie is a secondary character, and the writers in the show kept her for 8 seasons, made out of her an absolute favorite among fans, the writers and Kat did, and gave her plenty of drama where Kat could show case her acting skills. When an actor get plenty of drama means that the writers like you, when the writers give you little to do (like Matt character) they don't. And another thing in TVD characters got killed an brought back plenty of times, but they are allowed to know only the part of the script of the day of shooting. I don't see people complain for how many time, Stefan, Jeremy, Damon, Alaric got killed, more time then Bonnie, why? Because the actress is black (in the n book Bonnie is white, but they casted Kat, becuase she was right for the part, not because she is black or any other ethnicity, that is true color blind casting. Nowadays you cannot treat a black actor like anybody else, without having some stupid person calling you RACIST! That is craziness!!

I liked tvd. I went in expecting cringe but it does have it's story arcs that can get very interesting and even sad.
It even has a good amount of comedic relief
Watch The Originals. It's the spinoff series to The Vampire Diaries and happens in the same universe, with overlapping characters. It's really good and there's barely any teen drama.

I just watched all the seasons. I can say that the main line is Damon and his outlook on life, and his relationship with Stefan. Of course he's not the only one in the series.

The fog thing gets mentioned literaly once in the entire 8 seasons of this show and never in the Originals or Legacies. I think that they were paying so much money for CGI that they could no longer afford the fog machines after this first episode.
