I loved Nick from the first time I saw him at Earls Court! He was as brilliant then as he has been always and the nicest thing about him in my opinion is that he never became big headed! Well done Nick an inspiration to all!
I agree, but maybe, you don't understand how arbitrary is the honors system. Think about these foul examples of those knighted: Mick Jagger, Ian Duncan Smith, Eric Pickles - the list of unpleasant individuals is endless. Unfortunately, equestrians are rarely knighted. .In recent times, A.P.McCoy; I cannot think of any others.
Lee Pearson was knighted. Good on him. Nick is long overdue that honour. He does a lot of charity work, too. David Brooke is a CBE, as is Nick, but Nick has two Olympic golds and came back from a broken neck and a hip replacement.

I was so happy for Big Star and Nick on their amazing final round. I didn't realize, until he won, that Nick was the one I wanted to win that gold.
