Merry Christmas Eve! I thought we would do a fun chocolate advent before Christmas! Some of these were very good while others were VERY BAD! Let me know which chocolate looked the best to you! Love ya! Have a Merry Christmas❤
I'm really excited about how many Advent calendars are behind you. Advent calendars after Christmas softens the post Christmas blues. I'm not being sarcastic. This is a sincere comment.
The rosemary, burnt caramel, and shitake mushroom salt was a product of "AUGH! MY RECIPE FOR THE ADVENT CALENDAR IS DUE TOMORROW! Quick! What's in my cupboard?! I BURNT THE CARAMEL!! Too late, we'll make them think it's on purpose."
“Are passionfruits sour?” Yes, they are! First time I ate one, it made my ears pop it was so sour. It’s good though. The passion fruit flavor is closer to how perfumy it is when you smell, which is why it’s confusing when you first eat something with real passion fruit in it! Hope that helps 😅
Ripe passion fruit should be a mixture of sweet and a bit tart. My grandmother grew them in her garden for years and they were always very sweet and yummy.
I'm a green grocer and always describe passion fruits to my customers "as if a mango and a raspberry had a very sour baby" and recommend people eat it with yogurt or ice cream. I love the incredible sweet sour taste, but a lot of people don't agree, lol!
I hate dark chocolate. You're absolutely right, they could make some really gourmet milk chocolates. If they are going to act like "Florida Sea salt" is something special then they can make a beautiful milk chocolate from Icelandic sheep milk or something. 😂
It's weird .... dark chocolate is the "flavor of the month" the last few years. They try to make you feel unsophisticated if you like milk or white chocolate. Too bad ... it's GOOD!!!!
@@SherryAnnOfTheWesty’all are making it sound like a fad. American milk chocolate often contains very little cocoa. It’s milk sugar, and additives. European milk chocolate is supposed to be better quality but often has a dairy aftertaste. There’s a particular dairy taste I hate that isn’t always present. Like Magnum ice cream is really good but at the same time also has that unpleasant dairy taste at the end. I guess it has to do with the cows’ diet. Anyway, dark chocolate has less of all that. You get to appreciate the cocoa more and get less nonsense. If it’s a trend at all I see it as a trend in moving away from ultra processed foods and artificial ingredients.
Mr. Fritz is the perfect example of why I never do subscription boxes of any kind. I'm too picky for such adventurous outliers. All the best of the season to you, the puppas, and all in your embrace.
I absolutely love the food adventure calendars!!! This one was so good last year and didn’t disappoint this year either!!! Also “man cheese it’s are good” is 100% the quote of the video!
This year’s box was definitely better than lasy year’s. However, the Fritz chocolate truffle/bonbon should never have been made. Merry Christmas to you, Jeremy, Tater and Ren. An unboxing without Jimmy mowing the lawn just doesn’t seem right, so I’m glad he put in a cameo appearance.
I would suspect that last caramel was the texture it was because of the figs. I tend to find anything with fig in it gives me a grainy texture, like a lot of the chewy organic protein bars which use fig for the texture and sweetness.
My sister bought it for herself. She ate all the chocolates and gave me the boxes. They are so cool. We hung them on our parents' tree and they looked really nice. Now I have to find a place to store them. Lol.
Girl, knowing you had another 90 minutes of filming you DIDN'T share with us makes me sad!! I'm cooking Christmas dinner now, because my girls are RN's and have to work tomorrow for TRIPLE TIME!! I don't blame them at all!! But watching you add I'm cooking has been the best part of my day!! We'll watch all of your videos, don't edit them!! That's the things we love about you!! I hope you and Jeremy have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and spoil the boys for us too!! Sending love from Louisville Ky!!!
I will say bad matcha will taste like grass and even fish sometimes... Which sucks cause I’ve had really good matcha and it tastes nothing like grass to me but it still tastes green if that’s makes sense lol. I hope one day you get to taste the good matcha
The best matcha I’ve ever had tastes “soft” - like, it’s still fresh and green but soft. Like it’s resting in your mouth and waking up your taste buds as it goes down.
So, "añejo" is Spanish for aged. As for Passion fruit is one of my favorite fruits. Yes, it is sour. That being said 1. if given time to ripe it becomes sweeter and 2. it is much better as juice by adding sugar then it gets the exact flavor. Similar like turning lemons into lemonade.

They’re only $3 a bon though, so the $6ish per box means some of those other chocolates must be like $20 a pop or they’re really charging you for that gorgeous packaging 7:16
I've just had the best Christmas morning (it is the 25th here in Melbourne) coffee whilst the hubby is still sleeping - thank you! Hilarious choc tasting & so agree with you - some things should just NEVER be put together!😝 Love your videos - always make me laugh😂! MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄❣️
Fritz will not be forgotten or forgiven for his sins by Alexandria. Merry Christmas all, hope you have a nice one if you celebrate! Look forward to the rest of the advent calendars ❤️🎄
The moment you read out “liquid” my brain sent off a warning siren, because I just knew it was going to get everywhere. 😅 These chocolates seemed like an improvement from last year, which at least one notable exception. Lol. I’m glad you did this one. Even if the price of it blows my mind. The box really was a work of art, too.
The pecan pie pralines were made by my local chocolatier in Toronto, SOMA. Their chocolates are sooo good; they're one of my fave places to get gifts. This calendar is fabulous; I would love to try all these chocolates!
Merry Christmas! Was wondering if you would consider going to one of those ‘colour analysis’ places (where you find out your season and colour palettes). I think it would be a fun idea!
I just found out this is all different small chocolate makers. Not planning on trying it but I think that's a really cool idea. My mom's friend makes Indian cooking spice sets. If you can find it for next year, Neuhaus has a chocolate advent calendar, the one to share was around 160$ in 2023. I think their flavours would be something you'd like ☺ (but we'd probably get less fun reactions 🤭)
I love the thought that we're here loving the advent calendars as usual and someone at the gourmet chocolates company is watching in dismay as you eat chocolate on top of chocolate, weeping 'you're supposed to savour one a day' 😂
I’ll be honest. I love artisanal candy you get at candy shops and $7 isn’t that crazy, the difference is you pick it out, not it being $7 of something you may not like.
Then like $50 worth of packaging. That could be a high estimate but I was surprised to see those individual cylinder containers. Those are really nice quality, beautiful illustrations and reusable!
I think $4 is reasonable for even a fancy bonbon or truffle. For $7, I'd expect a bar of chocolate. I wonder how much packaging factors into their costs.
For future chocolate advents, maybe asking husband to cut them in half and place them back in the boxes so its still a surprise but much easier to test and to share later with husband?
I had to watch this because I live just outside San Francisco, and we frequent Dandelion Chocolate every time we are in the Mission for dinner. It’s so good!! Hope you enjoy. ❤
The pecan one sounded really good. My kid watched this one with me, and you had him laughing so hard. We loved it. I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas Eve and has a Merry Christmas! Thank you for keeping us laughing and entertained, Alexandria!
Girlll, you're missing out on garam masala! It's the LIFE of a lot of popular North Indian food. Garam Masala originated in India and is widely used to Indian, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Nepalese, Bengali, Caribbean, Swahili, Mauritius foods, too! (Plz lmk if i missed out on any places). Ofc the ratio of spices, the spices in the blend and a lot of other things MIGHT vary, but it's so so good. Its so versatile, you can even incorporate it into a lotta other dishes you make at home 😁😁
As a chocolate lover, I feel like I would mildly enjoy a box like this. Some of the faces you made when eating the chocolate just made me think 'Ooo, that one must be really good!' and then some others made me think 'Oooo, that one must be bad...' lol. At least the packaging is really cute, and some of the chocolates looked really pretty XD
Glad that you gotta eat the chocolates before they expire (like last year's cookies 😅). Merry Christmas to you and your family. Love your videos and love the Advent calendars season 😊 Since you didn't enjoy all of the chocolates, why don't you have someone else to try them with you next year so they can help? 😂 Or maybe use a knife to cut a tiny piece so you can try them all? ❤
I remember finding what I thought was a chocolate bar in my mom’s baking cupboard taking a bite and it was disgusting because it was baking chocolate. My mom said well that will teach you for touching. Guess it did.
This happened to me too. I was a drama queen and making such a scene my mom came running in. She was like what happened?? You cut?? Nope, just me eating baking chocolate 😂😂
lol i was babysitting once and ate a piece of chocolate on the counter. realized once it turned to powder in my mouth that it was like 90% cacao lmao i had to spit it out
Love the advent calendars; the amazing packaging, the chocolate overload, etc... And, best of all, you Alex, with your personality and wit. Merry Christmas ❤
Really enjoyed this one! WTH was Fritz thinking?? I think I would’ve had to spit that one out 😆 as a dark chocolate lover I think I would like most of the chocolates in this calendar. Thank you for showing this one! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!🎁🎄
I'm not mad at the length of this video. I'm down for a little longer videos when they make me feel good. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
thanks for a fun month of advent calendars alexandria! i loved watching your videos while i worked and they even gave me some much needed serotonin during a hard week. i hope you have a great holiday with your family and things get even better for you in the new year!
The artwork on this calendar is gorgeous. The chocolates were pretty little things, but I don't care for the multi-flavored ones or the kind with oozing insides. The little boxes would be great for small gifts. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This looks so good! I love unique and different things, especially paired with anything related to chocolates! 🤩 Thanks for sharing & Merry Christmas to you, your family, & the sweet little fur babies! 🎄🎁💗
Always enjoy the advent calendar season! Thank you for doing it. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Alexandria. And all who read this, Happy holiday season!
if you like dark chocolate, Hotel Chocolat do some amazing dark choc (unfortunately in the UK for you ) their milk chocolate starts 35 to 50% cocoa, dark is 70% up to 100%! it's some real good chocolate, not too sweet like cheaper chocolate. I wonder if they are so good because they grow their own cocoa beans on their own island!
I wish there was numbers, I know its not that big a deal but i always love finding the number, but then again some people would like just being able to pick, I do like how the boxes could be hung as well I think its a good way to reuse the packaging.
I haven't had a lot of chestnuts in my life but I want to say they are one of those nuts that is more of a texture than a taste if that makes sense? Lol it's just very subtle, maybe that's why people roast them to give them more of a flavor??
Merry Christmas, Alexandria! I hope you, Jeremy ,Tator & Wren have an amazing Christmas! ( I am writing this on Christmas morning). Thank you for providing us such great entertainment all year long. ❤🎄🎁🥰☃️
You should try Matcha KitKat. They are actually really really good. I get that Matcha isn't for everyone, but I think KitKat did a really good job of making it palatable for most people.
Añejo in Spanish is like when something is left to be done for a lot of time. It’s use in term of preparation. Similar to the fermentation process for wines.
I got this calendar after seeing you open it last year because I knew I'd get a ton of use out of the packaging and I love chocolate. The rum, strawberry, and passion fruit were my favorites but I liked basically all of them.
Love this video and you are so great at describing the taste of the chocolates! I can almost taste it myself. I think I would love to order this adventure calendar just to taste all the different types of chocolates. Great video Alexandria ❤️
Merry Christmas 🎄 to you, Jeremy and the boys 🐶 🐶. I always look forward to your videos. I also believe we would have watched the full 2 hr video before you edited bc we adore you and you bring SOOOO MUCH light to many of us in dark times. Much love and Happy Holidays 💜💜💜💜 Tampa, Florida P.S I need a shirt like your sweatshirt and the Purdys long sleeve shirt you wore in one of your recent videos. I always say Purdy. Maybe a southern thing. But I want a Purdy shirt!!! Where did you get yours?

The pralines looked irresistible, but now I am tempted to see about getting mulled wine chocolates. Good thing I never make New Year's resolutions.
Cheez-its, monster energy drink and $170 worth of chocolate.... Girl Dinner!
Me when i worked at target 😆
It's the holidays, go for the extra cheesy Cheez-its 😁
You read my mind😂
White cheddar is even better
GIIIIIIIIRL DINEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR
Looking straight at the camera: "I ate that carpet chocolate!" That is dedication. 🍫
And all of us agreed with her! 30 second rule when it comes to a $6 piece of candy! 😂
Jimmy’s wife probably asked him to help get the house ready for guests and he thought “you know what would be super helpful… yard work!” 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Boy math
I think Jimmy hates his wife. That's why he's always out doing yard work lol 😆 😂😂
Or she sent him to do yard work to get him out of her way to get the house ready! 😅😂🤭💖🤷♀️
If he’s anything like my father it was probably to get him out of her hair while she does the real prep work😅😂
I'm really excited about how many Advent calendars are behind you. Advent calendars after Christmas softens the post Christmas blues. I'm not being sarcastic. This is a sincere comment.
I totally agree! 😊
I would watch Advent calendar unboxing with Alexandria all year long!
I seco...eh, fourth this!
That had to be the most underrated comment of 2023. 🤣🤣🤣
"We're gonna fight..." I about fell over laughing from that chocolate! Alex is braver than I am, I would have noped straight past it.
Christopher Elbow chocolates does an advent calendar every year with some interesting flavor combos!
Ooo! I will have to check that out next year!
He does THC infused chocolate bars for Missouri dispensaries as well.
Love your videos 🤩 my husband is blind and can easily follow along with your videos because your so descriptive 😍 thank you 🤩🥰

God bless you and your husband.
That’s really cool!
That box is a piece of art!
It’s so beautiful!

Hello from Brisbane. Went for a run in 25deg C at 7:00am and the breakfast, coffee and chocolate advent calendar. Great way to start Christmas Day.
Happy Christmas from New Zealand 👋 beautiful summer day here in the south island 🎉

The “if I ever catch you out on the street” had me literally laughing out loud for several minutes. That was hilarious 😂
Merry Christmas! Was wondering if you would consider going to one of those ‘colour analysis’ places (where you find out your season and colour palettes). I think it would be a fun idea!

The hazelnut croissant one sounded like breakfast in a candy
I wish there was numbers, I know its not that big a deal but i always love finding the number, but then again some people would like just being able to pick, I do like how the boxes could be hung as well I think its a good way to reuse the packaging.
I haven't had a lot of chestnuts in my life but I want to say they are one of those nuts that is more of a texture than a taste if that makes sense? Lol it's just very subtle, maybe that's why people roast them to give them more of a flavor??
Just had my tonsils removed today and your videos have been the best way for me to recover, merry christmas
Merry Christmas, Alexandria! I hope you, Jeremy ,Tator & Wren have an amazing Christmas! ( I am writing this on Christmas morning). Thank you for providing us such great entertainment all year long. ❤🎄🎁🥰☃️
Ohhh this was great! I loved it. Your expressions just tell the story. Thanks Alexandria ♥️ Merry Christmas 🎄
The rum, strawberry, and passion fruit were my favorites but I liked basically all of them.
how did you feel about the mushroom chocolate though?
@@skyboo101 weird but I liked it!
Merry Christmas eve everyone!
Wow, gorgeous packaging! I wouldn't throw any of this away!
Much love and Happy Holidays 💜💜💜💜 Tampa, Florida
P.S I need a shirt like your sweatshirt and the Purdys long sleeve shirt you wore in one of your recent videos. I always say Purdy. Maybe a southern thing. But I want a Purdy shirt!!! Where did you get yours?
there's a Purdy's Coffee Co. right next to her shop, so I'm pretty sure that's where she got it
Weird fact: tried an apple pie that has Rosemary in it. Best thing that you will ever taste.
Happy Christmas Eve everyone!!! Happy holidays. ❤
